The Coolest Person I Know

The coolest person in my life
Wears a uniform
His clothes are the ones
That heroes of past have worn.

The coolest person in my life
Is clad in combat boots
For although he faces not the field
Guns aren't the only things that shoot

The coolest person in my life
Might not have that much hair
But I'd follow the coolest person in my life
Almost anywhere

For he faces his own battles
That make ours seem not so bad.
The coolest person in my life
Is my very own commander Dad.

Someone I Hate

The person that I do despise
Has filled my life with utter lies

They find it fun to mess with me
They succeed in lowering my self esteem

And yet, they help me on my way
They brighten up near every day.

They may be subtle in their hate
But every day won't hesitate

To subtley criticize my being
Because they know just what I'm feeling.

The person that I do despise

I would say 'hate' is a bit extreme
Because the person I don't like is me.
