Special Chapter:July 4th Side A

Canada sometime wished he could read his brother's mind. On the outside, he may seem a cheerful and an optimistic person but Matthew sometimes saw another side of his brother.

Just three days ago, the nation burst into the Canadian's house and threw a huge party with just the two of them. Of course, they invited the neighborhood to eat and spend some time together. Just three days ago Alfred was smiling and giving 'airplane ' rides to children who demanded it.

Now Matthew was standing in front of a ball that seems to be his brother. He was holding tight an uncle Sam themed teddy bear and a blanket to keep him warm from the overpowered fan. His brother had that look in his eyes again.

It was the same every July 4th. The young America will cut ties with everyone no matter where he is in the world. He locks his door and hides from the world. He refuses to accept any birthday gift and he definitely refuses to have a party. He put all of his partying effort into his brother's party instead.

And every year Canada will try his best and force him out of the mood. This year will be different, this year he made sure to ask for help. England and France should be arriving shortly.

In his hand was a McDonald's hamburger. America hates eating in public for some reason. But Canada notices that whenever they pass an ad with a hamburger on it or if the McDonald's jingle plays on the radio his brother's eyes brighten up, of course. His citizens practically worship the food, after all.

"Alfred. I bought you a hamburger. "

America lift his head up. "I don't want it."

"Yes you do Alfred. You're practically drooling ."

His brother then covered himself with his blanket.

Canada sighed as he heard the doorbell ring. He put down the hamburger on the floor and went out to the door . "Thank you for coming." He said to the guest.

England huffed. "I don't understand why that git is depressed, while the rest of his country celebrate his birthday. He stays locked up, but there's nothing to be sad about. "

"To be frank, America didn't know he won the war until I told him three days later. He was under that little spell of his." France added. "Is he still in his trance?"

"He just came out of it. He's eating in his bed now." Canada respond. "I really wish he would talk to me, he can't keep it down forever... Oh well. Now it's time for plan B."

"Plan B?" The older nations asked. Canada nodded as he stomped to Alfred door and kick the door. "SWAT team open up !"

From the other side Canada can hear a little chuckle. He then proceed to kick down the door. Alfred sat up fixing on look on his brother.

"You didn't have to kick down the door! " America yelled out. Canada didn't listen as he grabbed his brother and slung him over his shoulder. He then proceeded to go back to the main room. America protested of course, he kicked and screamed.

"Don't make me tie you up Al."

Alfred calmed down after that. "Why can't you leave me alone. It's the same old thing every year. "

"It's your Birthday Al, you need to celebrate it."

Alfred sighed as he was forced to sit in the chair as England and France presented the cake. "You guys came too? " He asked.

"Of course, it is your birthday after all." France smiled. "It would be rude to not celebrate it."

"Hurry up and cut the cake. You have presents to open after this." England said.

"Presents? You guys bought me something...? You didn't have to."

"It's because we want to." Canada replied. "You celebrate all of ours. Why don't we spend yours alright."

America stared at his brother his eyes glazed with tears and nostalgia. Alfred carefully blinked them away. "Alright. Maybe next year we can invite more people."

"Of course, it's your birthday after all."
