Chapter 56
"Hey there" Anakin waved while walking alongside me on my way back from the library.
"Hello" I started, but was cut off with a harsh fit of coughing.
"Woah, you alright there?" He set his hand on my back to keep me steady.
"Yeah, it's nothing"
"Even so, I'm taking you to the med bay to get checked out." With a groan from me he pulled me along towards the medical bay where I was sat on a cot waiting with Anakin, hating every second of it.
"What do we have here? Oh" Kix was shocked to see me again in the med bay, both of us hating my visits.
"Lyra, here had a pretty bad coughing fit and I think she might be coming down with something" Anakin gave his thoughts to the clone medic.
"What other symptoms do you have?" He asked me while pulling over a chair to sit on.
"Runny nose, pale skin, coughing and she also seemed to be unbalanced so probably dizzy" Anakin spoke up, knowing I wouldn't admit to being sick.
"Well, good news is you only have a cold and it should pass after a few days of bed rest."
"Kix—" I started to protest when he cut me off sharply.
"Bed rest"
"Fine" I grumbled, standing up as Anakin helped me walk back to my room in the temple.
"Contact me, Obi Wan, Cody or Rex if you need anything" he sternly reminded, closing my door and leaving me to get some rest.
"Lyra, come in" a heard my former masters voice echo through my commlink.
"Yes, master?" I asked in a haze as I had just woken up from a nap, feeling miserable with the killer headache pounding in my head.
"Anakin and I will be going off on a mission, but Rex and Cody are staying behind so you can contact one of them for anything you need" Obi Wan explained simply, not wanting to leave me when I'm sick, but trusting the clones to take care of anything I might need.
"Okay" I agreed without much thought before collapsing back onto my bed and falling to sleep again.
A knocking on my door woke me again. I opened my eyes, seeing that a few hours had passed because the sun had set over the Coruscant sky. Standing to my feet with a grumble I opened the door to face Captain Rex.
"Uh hi, I brought you some dinner. I wasn't sure if you ate anything yet. Oh and I also brought some books from the library that Ahsoka helped me pick out for you to read." He presented the items he he,d in his hands.
"Thank you, come in" I stepped to the side and he set everything onto a small table I had. I had taken the first bite of my food before it came back up immediately after. Rushing into the refresher I threw up in the toilet and groaned while sitting back against the wall.
"Oh!" Rex was in slight shock after what he had witnessed before jumping into action to help. He found a hair elastic on the counter and quickly moved to pull my hair back into a low ponytail to keep it out of my face as I hovered over the toilet.
"I'm sorry" I hid my face in my hands with embarrassment.
"There's no need to be sorry. I'll go see if Kix has anything that can help. I'll be right back" with that he ran out of the door towards the medic clone. "Kix! Lyra just threw up, what do I do?"
"Relax Rex, it's completely normal for her to throw up when she is sick. Give her these" Kix passed his Captain a bottle of medicine, not worried about you because he knew you would be fine and that Rex was just panicked. "And make sure she drinks lots of water and rests"
"Thanks Kix!" Rex was running back to you just as fast as he had left. "General?" he knocked on my door softly before coming in and finding me in the same place he had left me. "Here, Kix said to take two of these and drink lots of water" he handed me the two pills and a glass of water. I took it all swiftly before trying to stand. "Woah, take it easy" he helped guide me back to my bed before sitting in a chair off to the side.
"What are you doing?" I looked over at him as he was fumbling for a book off the side table.
"I thought I could read to you to help you fall asleep" he proposed the idea sheepishly.
"I would love that" I smiled sleepily. He started to read and a few pages into the book I was out like a light. He smiled down at my calm figure before setting the water cup beside my bed and tucking me in, shutting the door on his way out.

It had been a few weeks since I was sick and the council had finally allowed me back into battle on the war front. My first fight since being back however was a mission with Skywalker and Kenobi to take down a droid factory.
"But if we just blow down the door they will be scrambling to gather their forces and we can easily take them down" Anakin gave his idea for how to take down the droid factory.
"This is a stealth mission" Obi Wan reminded sternly.
"But my plan is the best way to get this done quickly"
"It's not the most effective though" they had been going back and fourth for well over a few minutes.
"That's it" I sighed. I grabbed a bag of detonators and snuck off towards the factory, nobody noticing my disappearance. "There's an opening" I pointed to an open window on the building. It was high up, but I could climb the rocks and reach it if I focused on each move I made.
I had started up the wall, using the rocks that stuck out to climb to the open window. "Kriff" I cursed under my breath, losing my footing and almost falling. Luckily I had caught myself just in time, holding on tightly and taking a moment before continuing on.
"Is that General Jayko?" Rex pointed to the side of the building where I had continued climbing until I reached the opening.
"That is" Cody nodded casually, Anakin and Obi Wan both still arguing beside the,. Running around the base I had set detonators around and cut down any droid that I saw.
"We will deliver on time, Count Dooku" the separatist promised over holo transmission.
"Good" Dooku replied before cutting off.
"That won't be happening" I made my presence known, stepping out and pointing my saber at him.
"Oh no" the man sighed.
"Oh no, indeed" I commented back. "Now get moving" I nudged him forward. I held my sabers threateningly towards him, leading him out of the front doors as No droid dared to test me. Once we were both a safe distance from the building I pulled the set at or from my belt, setting off the bombs as the building exploded behind me. The two Jedi turned around in shock that the factory was blown up. "Hey Cody, are they still arguing?" I questioned through comms, making my way back with our prisoner.
"Yes, sir" Cody replied when they started up again over how the building exploded.
"Wanna give me some help locking up this Seppie?"
"On it, sir" a few moment later he and a few others had joined me in locking up the separatist and bringing him to the two Jedi.
"Lyra?" Obi Wan asked as we walked out with the man handcuffed.
"Rex, when did this happen?" Anakin questioned his Captain.
"Lyra took matters into her own hands while you two argued, sir" Rex replied calmly.
"Oh, uh good job Jayko" Anakin nodded with confusion at how they missed it.
"Let's get this guy back to Coruscant" I ordered out, calling a gunship down to pick us up.
The group of us had made our way back to the cruiser above where we had met up with Ahsoka again. The prisoner had been locked up and we had met with the council, giving them our full report before getting another mission.
"Can you train Ahsoka for the next few days while I make up some battle plans?" Anakin asked me with hope that I would help him out.
"Yeah, I'll train her" I agreed, missing spending time with Ahsoka.
~~
"Here comes Rex, act natural" Ahsoka whispered urgently, seated beside me on the floor of the hanger. We were both trying to meditate as part of her training, but Ahsoka was getting bored which is what lead her to open her eyes and spot the blond clone approaching us.
"I am acting natural" I commented back, eyes still closed in deep meditation.
"Hello, Commander, General" Rex nodded to the both of us, prompting us to break meditation and stand to greet him.
"Uh hey Rex, what are you— what do you need?" I stuttered over my own words, Ahsoka snickering from beside me.
"General Skywalker sent me to check on your training with Ashoka since he couldn't be here himself" the trooper explained.
"She is doing great— I mean her focus could use some work but overall she has been doing well until distractions come along" I started to ramble, shooting her a quick glare. "Sorry, I can just go tell him this myself" I moved to walk off, but tripped over my own feet and stumbled right into Rex's chest. My eyes widened at the realization as he gently moved me to stand properly after catching me.
"It's alright, I can tell him" Rex said with a small smile.
"Right, yes" I nodded and he walked away again with a small wave.
"Yeah, natural" Ahsoka nudged me with a laugh as I groaned in embarrassment.
"You are the worst" I scolded her.
"Does that mean training is done for today?" She asked with hope.
"Nope, that means we are moving onto sparing" I stated, stepping back to pull out my sabers and face off against her. She smiled brightly at the challenge, following me and igniting her own sabers.

Question of the day: would you be able to act natural in front of your crush?
