#noheterobro
I'm reading the novel I chose for English, and I'm actually somewhat getting into it, cause it's kinda similar to how I like to write and tell stories, but it's still pretty different??
The author focuses more on the characters and their development rather than an overall plot, which is what I usually end up doing, and she takes the time to describe things in great detail, even if they seem insignificant, which seems to be meant to build up the makeup of the world and characters, if that makes sense, and I do something like that, but different??
I dunno, it's weird, but I find it cool
But basically, what's going on so far~
Chick got murdered, and murderer got away
Chick got found, and is barely alive, so they try to help her
Fen is a fifty (I believe) year old chick who lives in this hella fancy and in-the-middle-of-nowhere big house thing by the ocean if I remember correctly
She's prepared to have her niece (Vivi [real name Vivian]) to visit (she has parrot plates, and I find that wonderful)
Dude - Alex - shows up to her door with an axe I believe and a bloody forehead, and Fen is spooked
Dude goes into her house
Dude tells Fen he crashed into her tree (oh and a storm is currently going on, a bad one at that)
Fen goes out to check if it's true, and gets muddy and soaked in the process
Fen finds that the dude really did crash into tree (poor tree)
Fen goes back and still suspicious, yet she takes care of Alex's wound
She changes her clothes cuz moisture is uncomfortable
She gives Alex a sweater cuz he took off his pink shirt and jacket, and she doesn't want a half naked stranger in her house
They have wine by the fireplace
Fen tells Alex backstory things that I don't have the patience to explain
She cuts the story short
They eat beef stew in the kitchen with the parrot plates (oh and the phone hasnt been working this whole time either, so Fen is worries about Vivi)
Fen realizes she's actually having a good time
(The whole time there's backstory kinda explained and worrying about Vivi or that Alex is actually not a good guy)
(All the while, it switches back and forth with what Vivi and a detective named Brad)
Vivi is working super duper late
She's frikkin tired and done, yet she's still trying her best cuz she cares about people
She had 5many coffees
She wants to skedaddle home before anyone tells her to stay
Brad the detective chatted with pissed off Vivi, and he ended up giving her his number #noheterobro
Vivi is annoyed af and wants to go home
Her home is kind of a crappy apartment cause of some french jerk who wanted to marry her then not (this family has these issues all the time)
She takes bath and chills with her tea, but not long cause her sister, JC (I believe Jane something??) called
JC drove super duper far and said she drove all the way, and her fiancé crapped her out as well
Vivi took her in for the night and took care of her
They are jerks to each other, but the sibling jerk, so it's all cool
JC is 28 (Vivi be 30) and she has finally given up on being a pop star and do something with her life
And that's where I left off with them
Then there's Brad, who had a puppo named Bitsy, then changed the name to something about Flyer, cause his wifu left him (yeah this happens a lot in this story and I'm not even halfway through, people don't make wise relationship choices)
He and his pal named Jerry (I love the name and the dude so far) are eating chicken soup at a bar named Veronica's (which is run by a seventy year old woman named Veronica)
They talked about how the murderer was a jerk and how his weird message was indeed weird (they didn't flat out say it, but it's easily "Please don't tell" cause the book title)
Jerry called Brad out on his crap for giving Vivi his number when she just got done working with a murder victim
Brad said it was if she needed to talk about the whole ordeal (despite the fact that he invited her for a drink at the bar)
He claims it's not romantic #noheterobro
That's all I read up on so far, so yeet~
