I stood there frozen for a few seconds before I responded to his kiss.
His hands felt warm against my face. I took in the smell of his cologne, it made me want this more.
I stood on my tippy toes, cursing my height right now. He wraps his arms around me pulling me in closer.

As we break apart from our kiss, I stay wrapped up in his arms.
I look up at him and smile. Did that just happen?

"Hey Kaia have you eat....Woahh! My bad, I'm sorry, I should have knocked. Shit" Dani says as she walked in on us.
She used her hand to cover her eyes.

I laugh when I see her covering her eyes as if she hasn't done anything like this before.

"It's alright, darling. I better be leaving now anyway" Ash says to Dani before turning to me.

"I'll see you soon love. Take care"

"Bye" I reply to him, clearly still  mesmerized by what just happened.

After Ash leaves, Dani shuts the door and glares at me.
"I leave you two alone for 5 minutes and look at what I walk in on. What if I left for the whole night? Oh my gosh, Kaia".

I laugh at Dani's seriousness. She reminds me of my mother.

"My god, girl your face is a shade of crimson" she laughs.

"Shut up! Okay? I may be blushing a little, it's just that I wasn't really expecting that sort of thing to happen between us"
I told her.

"How could you not? Girl he's so head over heels for you. If I had a guy like that trippin' over me, I'd grab him. He's a snack".

"I guess so. But I have to be his friend first then get to know him before I can date him".

"It's kinda too late for friends, you kissed!".

I grab my things and walk out to take a shower.

"Later, Dani".

"Kaia wait, we're not done here!" Dani yells as I walk out. 
I like how she wants to know details and talk about everything. It's nice that I've found a good friend like her.

When I get back to the room Dani's nowhere to be seen. I walk over to my bed and sit down. On my pillow is a note. It's from Dani.

Gone to grab some dinner for us. Be back soon.

I read her note then place it on the side table. I open my history book and continue with my assignment, trying to get as much done to avoid last minute rushing.

Half an hour later Dani was back.
She had burgers, fries and oh my God milkshake.

"Dig in, I know you're hungry. After the day you've had you must be" Dani says before biting into her cheeseburger.

"Don't have to tell me twice" I say as I take a sip of my milkshake".

The next morning:

Dani and I stayed up eating and just talking about life. We exchanged stories about our families and past relationships. It was around 12am when we both decided to call it a night.

I glance at the clock 7:12am.
I look over at Dani's bed and she's not there.
I grab my things and head to the showers. This time I grab my favorite shampoo. It reminds me of home.

I head back to my room as soon as I'm done. Today I decided on something casual to wear. The weather was still the same, chilly.
I go for my white jeans, a sweater and a scarf.

"You look cute today" Dani says as she enters the room. She's in running clothes so I'm guessing she went for a morning run.

"Thanks. Went for a run?" I asked her.

"Yep. And almost got blown away by the wind" Dani laughs.

"All that food last night wasn't enough to hold you down? I'm surprised!"

We both laugh at my silly comment.

"I'll hit the showers" Dani says before disappearing again.

"Okay" I replied.

Just as I'm doing my hair I hear a beep coming from my phone signalling a new text.
I walk over to the side table and pick it up. It's a text from Ash.

Good morning love. I was hoping we could hang out today. Lunch maybe? xx

Oh my god, did he just ask me to lunch? I must be dreaming let me read that again.

Yes! It does say lunch. Okay. 
I quickly check my classes for the day to figure out when I'm free.
I tap on reply and send him my answer.

Morning :) lunch sounds gr8. I'll be free from 1pm just after art.

Awesome! I'll text you later then :) have a good day xxx

Oh his words make me giddy. I don't know how I feel. He's nothing like that rude person I met at the beach. He's totally different. Why did it take so long for me to notice that? Oh maybe because you have little to no dating experience.
It's 7:45am now and I'm heading out. First stop, coffee shop. Next, class.
I leave a note on Dani's bed to tell her I've left. We really need to exchange cell numbers soon.

As I walk down the stairs I can already feel the cold air. Once I reach the bottom, nearly everyone I saw was dressed up warm. Except for a few that braved the cold. Idiots.

I begin to walk towards my car. This time I'll go to the coffee shop just outside campus. They have yummy muffins in the morning.
I sit in my car and turn on the heater. I slowly pull out and head for the side exit just opposite the Dorms. Why didn't I see this entry and exit when I got here. It would have been a big help.

The drive to the coffee shop is less than 5 minutes and in no time I find myself inside the shop ordering my breakfast.
I turn to my left and see a familiar face.

"Good morning Todd" I say cheerfully.

Todd jumps as I greet him. He was clearly in another world.

"Oh! Good morning Kaia! Sorry I was so into this game on my phone".

"Grabbing breakfast?" I ask him while collecting my coffee and muffin from the counter.

"Yep", he replied.

"Do you need a ride back to school?" I ask him while we walk out of the coffee shop together.

"Oh no, I actually drove here too", he replied.

"Oh okay. Well see you later", I said as he walked towards his car.
There was something odd about him. Like something was bothering him. I wanted to ask but I wasn't sure whether he considered me close enough to tell me what's up. I know, maybe if I spend more time with him he might consider me a good friend and confide in me.

I didn't have any class with Todd today so I'll have to wait till we do to hang with him and let him know I'm here if he wants to talk.
I hope he's okay and it's nothing too serious. He's a really nice person.

My first class was a breeze. Time flew by so fast, next thing I knew it was time for my next class. I hoped to see Todd somewhere after class but I guess he was at another block today.

Just after my art class had finished I walked out and ran into Dani, who was on her way to her next class.

"Hey I got your note" Dani said happily.

"Yep. Here's my number, we have to go modern, I can't be dealing with notes the whole year" I tell her.

Dani lets out a loud laugh. I giggle along too.

After we exchange numbers, Dani heads to class and I head back to my room.

I lay down and stare at my phone. He's supposed to text me. Oh gosh look how pathetic I am waiting for a text. Why am I like this?

I was so busy with my thoughts I almost didn't notice the beep sound on my phone. It must be him.

I'm outside the dorms. Have u finished class yet? xx

I'm actually in my room. Be down soon. :)
