Chapter Four, Angry James = a Hexed Sirius
Chapter Four, Angry James = a Hexed Sirius
March 27th 1965 brought along two things. First it was just after the Ostara holiday so everyone was feeling refreshed once more, but second it was not only the twins' fifth birthday but their father's, Monty's, forty-seventh birthday, which the twins were always ecstatic about getting to share their birthday with their beloved Daddy. Their family were incredibly proud of their little miracles as from a young age they had incredibly strong and powerful magic, showcasing just how powerful and magically strong they would grow to be and would no doubt improve House Potter and House Le Fay for the better.
But for now, they were just happy that the twins were happy even though they were often up to mischief - Euphemia blamed her husband and brother-in-law for that. Shaking herself out of her thoughts, Mia, with the help of Dorea, Missy and Tarek, set up the ballroom for the party they would have for the triple birthday of her husbands and two children. They had the entirety of the Black family coming over (apart from Bellatrix and Andromeda as they were at Hogwarts being fourteen and twelve respectively, which they weren't happy about missing, but they did celebrate their sweet cousins birthday when they attended Ostara with them a few days ago. Even getting them to open their gifts from then and there. James had got a Quaffle, a Herbology set and a Transfiguration set; those were his favourite pastimes. And Iolanthe had got a practice Snitch and a Potions and Care of Magical Creatures kit).
When the children weren't at the Magus Primaria, and Iolanthe couldn't be seen on the Quidditch pitch on kiddie brooms playing with James or up to mischief with him; then she could either be found trying to help her father with his potions, or she was tending to the vast creatures on their estate. As for James, if he wasn't playing with his sister he was doing his Transfiguration kit (all kits were designed for children to help them, sort of a fun learning experience), or he was in the greenhouses with his Herbology kit. Although they had different affinities for different subjects the twins helped each other improve on the subjects they weren't good at and so rarely fought with each other that it amazed everyone. However, now that the twins were five years old, Monty and Charlus wanted to start little practice duels as was tradition; which Mia had reservations about.
"How many are coming?" Dorea asked, her back turned to her sister as she waved her wand setting up a table in the far corner covered in a cream tablecloth with silver lining. Knowing Dorea meant how many children, Mia let Missy and Tarek finish setting up so she could give her sister-in-law her full attention while wondering where her husband, children and brother-in-law had got to.
"Monty and I didn't want a large gathering, as with our family it's already quite large as is." Mia joked, laughing with her sister. "Anyway, there's Narcissa, Sirius and Regulus. Lucretia and Ignatius' children Apollo and Erin and also Ilarion and Brynn's children Fabian and Gideon, but Molly is in her Sixth year at Hogwarts.
Then there's, Heiress Pandora and Heirs Paul and Ambrose with their parents Lord Kyle and Lady Annabelle. The Longbottoms Lord Archie and Lady Augusta with their son Frank and Archie's brother Algie and Algie's wife Enid."
"I take it Archie and Enid are back from their trip to Italy and Lord Archie is feeling much better." Dorea surmised.
"Quite." Mia agreed. "Augusta was quite worried, especially as this is the second time he's come down with this fever. The first was a few years ago when Augusta was pregnant with Frank, and Algie had to join her on the Wizengamot while Enid tended to him. It aids having a Healer in the family but Monty is trying to create something to help him."
"So with our husbands and Orion, that's sixteen children. My, we do have our work cut out for us." Dorea drawled, there was a beat of all of two seconds before they burst out laughing almost doubling over from the force of it. It was only when they heard the sound of running feet did they sober up wiping the tears from their eyes just as Monty and Charlus ran in with James on Charlus' back and Iolanthe on her father's back, all of them laughing uncontrollably.
"My what a sight the four of you make." Mia teased, smiling at her family, especially when she saw the happy gleam in their eyes.
"Hi Mummy!" James and Iolanthe chirped, waving enthusiastically from their places on Monty and Charlus' back.
"Good morning my darlings. Happy birthday." Mia greeted, kissing her children on their cheeks. "And happy birthday my love." Mia whispered, kissing Monty tenderly.
"Ahhhhh! My eyes! My eyes!" Charlus cried dramatically, covering his eyes with one hand while the other still held James securely, as Iolanthe and James copied their uncle, giggling cutely.
"Oh be quiet, you man child." Dorea reprimanded teasingly, removing the hand from Charlus' eyes so she could give him a peck to the lips followed by a peck to James's forehead. "And happy birthday my darlings, you both look amazing."
"Thank you auntie, Rea." James and Iolanthe chirped simultaneously, climbing down from their perch so they could hold hands skipping around the room looking like Yin and Yang with their polar opposite hair and eye colours.
"I put the flowers in Lanthe's hair." James boasted proudly.
"And it looks very nice sweetheart." Mia and Dorea praised, stifling their laughs as James stuck out his chest only to rein it in when Iolanthe elbowed him in the side.
"Why don't you both go and play for a bit, everyone will be here soon." Mia suggested.
"Okay Mummy." The twins agreed, skipping from the room, talking rapidly, shaking their heads, while the four adults got back to helping the house-elves finish setting up for the party.

The adults were in the parlour talking amongst themselves or "adult talk" as the children called it, when they heard a scream come from the sunroom where the children were playing. Alarmed they all jumped to their feet, wands raised, as Mia called for Missy.
"Missy -" she didn't get to finish her instructions as at that moment five year old Sirius ran into the room tearful. And the cause: he had bright blue hair.
"Mummy! Daddy!" Sirius wailed dramatically, flinging himself at his father, while his mother, aunt and grandparents shook their heads at the dramatic Heir. "Look what James did to my beautiful hair!! He's ruined it Daddy!" He wailed loudly, crying into his father's lap, who petted his son's hair with a sympathetic look upon his face.
"Orion! Stop encouraging him!" Walburga chastised, shaking her head but there was a fond smile playing about her lips. "Honesty, the pair of you and your hair, Regulus is even copying you now!" A pointed look at her four year old son proved her point as he was covering his hair protectively with his arms.
"What happened?" Monty asked his daughter, noticing his son's angry expression, only for it to suddenly change into laughter when James started to float, looking for the cause he noticed his daughter was the likely cause as she was staring intently at her twin brother.
"My word!" Ignatius gasped astonished, eyes wide with the tumbler of Firewhiskey frozen halfway to his lips.
"That is some powerful Accidental Magic, Lord Potter." Lord Kyle muttered impressed.
"They've been doing feats like this ever since they were born." Charlus boasted proudly, a shark-like grin upon his face, knowing no one will underestimate his niece and nephew now. Once James was safely back on the floor and calmer, his hands clasped in his sister's while he stood a little in front of her, Monty posed his question to all of the children once more.
"We were playing when Cousin Sirius asked Lanthe out, Uncle Monty." Nine year old, Narcissa Black, informed the Potter Lord. "James got angry at him and they got into an argument, then the next second after James had the last word, cousin Sirius's hair turned bright blue."
"And I wanted to calm Jamie down but cheer him up too, Daddy, so I made him float as we both like flying." Iolanthe added, explaining what had just happened.
"Thank you for telling us this, girls." Walburga smiled, crouching down in front of the sweet blonde-haired girls, squeezing their hands comfortingly before turning to her son, and with a flick of her wand, his hair was back to its natural jet black colour. "There we go Siri, all fixed. Now, I want you children to go and play nicely, no more arguing and no more asking each other out. You're all too young for that yet."
"Thank you Mummy!" Sirius beamed, tears suddenly gone, as he jumped up to hug his mother who returned the hug happily.
Once he pulled away he offered them a wide smile and bounced out of the room discussing pranks with all of them as if nothing had happened.
"I feel sorry for Minerva and the other teachers, with that lot." Ilarion commented, chuckling, knowing all of them were pranksters or mischief makers in their own right; but none more so than his twins, the Potter twins, Pandora Greengrass, and the two Black boys.
"I think Minerva will retire after our children." Lucretia commented, causing everyone to laugh as it was more than likely true and couldn't help but feel sorry for the Hogwarts' Headmistress.
