As we approached the mysterious holes Flicker stopped hastily in his tracks.

"What? What is it Flicker tell us!" Whispered Bell fearfully.

"Shhhhh, listen it's coming... from inside the holes!" Muttered Flicker adjusting his ears so they looked weirdly out of place.

"I don't want to do this anymore! Bruce was right he-" Ember stopped talking because her breathing started to increase rapidly. The only sound now was Ember inhaling quick short stifles of air.

"This is no time to start hyperventilating!" I whispered loudly trying not to get freaked out myself.

"I'm...... not....... doing ..... this.... on....purpose!" Ember growled taking deep breaths calming down slowly.

Everything returned back to its silent eeire state after a few moments of pure breathing. We all looked at each other thinking:

Go on, you look!

After a couple of minutes I got tired of looking at everyone's expressionless face's and said:

"Come on we all look because, we all wanna know what's down there don't we?"

"Yeah I guess." Sighed Bell

"Sure, it doesn't matter if I just stop breathing does it. As long as we look into them deadly holes I'm gonna live." Hysterically laughed Ember.

"Wow you get creepier and creepier everyday don't you. Anyway sure bro I'm with you!" Smiled Flicker half happily half on edge.

We all took one pace forward. Then another. Then another. Until we saw a tremble of movement in one of the holes to the right.

*AGGGHHHHH!!!!!*

We all screamed seeing two yellow ears poke out of the dry, dusty hole. The funny thing was, was when we screamed the thing also screamed in terror so we weren't the only pokemon that were scared.

"Pl- please l-leave me a-a-alone." Stuttered a quiet female voice with a hint of saddness.

"What are you? Where are you?" Questioned Flicker looking at the wrong hole.

"Over there, idiot." My eyes darted towards the closest hole showing Flicker where she was.

"Ooohhhh." Muttered Flicker with a smile spreading across his face.

"Please come out. I promise we're not going to hurt you." Ember pleaded with a tone that reminded me of my mother.

"Ok but please don't hurt me." Said the pair of ears with a bit more confidence.

The pokemon slowly shifted her body upwards to reveal what she looked like.

She was a very small shiny Vulpix with deep pain filled scars. Her fur seemed dull with no sparkle in it. That normally meant the pokemon was grieving or in immense pain.

"Wow are you ill? Come on lets take you to a-" started Flicker looking concerned.

"Flicker seriously?! She's a shiny!" Laughed Bell uncontrollably.

"I knew that..."

"So what's your name?" I asked smiling at her.

"My name's Indigo." She blushed looking at us.

"Don't mind Flicker he's.. well you know Flicker!" Bell giggled still not recovering from Flicker's earlier comment.

She smiled even more now looking down at the darkened bearly see- able ground.

"Anyway that's Ember, Bell, you already know who Flicker is and I'm Flame." Nodding to each pokemon as they gave her a welcoming smile.

"If you don't mind me asking Indigo.. but what happened to you and where are your parents?" Asked Bell seriously but gently.

Indigo's eyes switched to look at Bell directly with a sorrowful expression.

"Sit, this might take a while" Indigo exhaled calmly.
