"And the Nobel Prize goes to....."

"Get up, Elsa!!" says mom, dragging me out of bed.

Come on, I was just about to win the Nobel Prize. Now I'll never be able to win it.

 "Can, I sleep for two more minutes?" I beg. 

"You do not want to get late for your first day of college do you?" says mom sternly.

Suddenly, it hits me. Today IS my first day of college. I feel a shiver run down my spine and my positive dream and sleep seems a million years away. I was so dreading this day. Going to college is what many people dream of, but for me, it's the worst possible nightmare. Meeting new people and giving them an introduction is something I hate. Besides, it was just last night I watched one of the many movies about people getting bullied in college. I know, I'm over reacting but for an introvert like myself, being new to a place is as dangerous as someone telling you to fight a giant alone!

Reluctantly, I get up and dress myself in my most casual, yet good looking sweatshirt and simple track pants.  I head downstairs and see my big sister sitting with our parents. 

She looks fabulous as usual and when she sees me she says, "You're not wearing that to your first day of college, are you? It looks hideous."

"Thank you for the compliment" I say rolling my eyes with sarcasm. 

Trust my sister, to compliment me. 

"Ah, the bus is here!" says mom. 

She put her hand on my shoulder, "Now ,Elsa, just stay calm and do not get scared when somebody talks to you. Remember, they all are NEW students ."

"Thanks mom, I'll try my best." I say as she kisses me on the head.
