~5 days later~

Cora's Diary

Dear Diary,

I need to leave. Leave them. Leave my friends. Word of me being part of team rocket has spread across the entire region. I'm labeled as the second most dangerous trainers in Kanto. Boss Giovanni being first. We are in Pewter city staying at the gym leader's house. Every now and then Mewtwo will question me what Giovanni plans to do with the orbs. I keep telling them that I don't know. I told them that as a grunt you do not question the mission. Red told me that he'll battle the boss one last time. So tonight while they're sleeping, I'll make my escape.

Cora's POV

It's been 2 hours since everyone went to bed. The gym leader isn't here so that makes my escape more easier. Leo slept on the couch in the living room with his zorua snoozing on his face. Cake took one of the guest room and Red went to the other guest room. The only problem is Mewtwo. He's sleeping on the roof to make sure no one comes near the house. I just need to sneak by him without him sensing my presence. Sounds easy enough. I walk out of the room I was in and sneak my way to the living room.

I crawl to the door and try the knob. It's locked. I head for the nearby window and try to open it. It's also locked. I saw that the window doesn't have a lock, so why can't I open it? I noticed a very faint blue aura around the window. "I understand now...." I whispered to myself. "Mewtwo put a psychic barrier around the house..." "Close but not really." I hear Mewtwo's voice in my head. 'Aren't you suppose to be sleeping?' I ask him. He sarcastically laughs and teleports to the living room. He looks at me with a serious look. "You too Cora." He tells me in a scolding tone. I start to feel frightened and take a step back. "You want to leave your friends so bad?" He puts his left hand on my shoulder.

??? POV

"Mmmm~ Oran berry~" I mumbled to myself as I took a bite of this delicious looking berry. The texture of it is just pure beauty. The scent is intoxicating. The juice is refreshing. I can feel the healing properties of the berry work on the wound on my back. It's painful at first but the more it heals the less pain there is. I went for another bite when I heard the bushes behind me rustle. "H-hello?" I call to them. I was terrified. Mostly because of what I just been through. I can hear a light but scary chuckle coming from the bush that was making noise. "Nice to see ya again...." The pokemon slowly walked out of the bush. It was-

Cora's POV

Mewtwo teleport me to viridian forest. "This is where you wanted to go right?" He asked. I nodded and walked deeper into the forest. "Thank you Mewtwo." I called to him as I continued to walk. A few minutes later I looked over my shoulder to see Mewtwo following me. He was flying so I couldn't hear his footsteps. I ignore him and head for the base. After a few more feet, I hear sirens go off. "What is that?!" Mewtwo yelled infuriated. I didn't know either. They never told me about this. Mewtwo was about to teleport away when an electrical net shot from the trees around us. Mewtwo was grunting in pain from the shocks the net gave. I barely made it out of the way of the net. If I was caught in it, it could've killed me. "Well done Cora." I hear someone clapping and coming towards me. I turn to see the Boss with a proud expression on his face. "Not only did you bring me both orbs but you also brought back Mewtwo. Team Rocket's greatest accomplishment!" I beamed him with amazement and gained my composure. "Cora Lexus, rank 3 grunt reporting in." I told him. He motions me to continue. "I have successfully retrieved both the Blue Orb and Red Orb. Mewtwo as well." I heard Mewtwo moan in pain. Boss heard too. "I almost forgot. Cora use this rocket ball on Mewtwo." He toss a pokeball to me. I caught the ball and looked at it. It was a pokeball but with black where the red goes and has our symbol on it. "It was designed to catch caught pokemon." I stare at the ball. It catches pokemon that are already caught...... I turn to the now fainted Mewtwo. You can see the brushes and blisters all over his body from the net. He's even pulsing electricity. I bring my arm back and get ready to throw the ball. I threw it.

~In HQ~

"Cora." Giovanni started. "I'm making you an elite. You have shown me that you can complete any mission that is given to you." I couldn't believe what I was hearing. "Starting today, you'll be assigned new recruits. Teach them well." I thanked him and left his office. I'm a elite now....

I head back to my room to sleep since it's really late. I grabbed everyone's pokeballs and let them out. One by one the light around them disappeared to reveal my pokemon. Trig, Declan, Dot, Bubbles, and.....Salamence? I forgot to give Salamence back! I grab the desk phone we have in our rooms and dial the boss's office number. Ring.....ring.....ri- "Yes? What is it?" Boss picked up. I start to feel nervous. "U-uh I forgot to give Salamence back....." The boss stayed quiet for a moment then spoke again. "Keep it. Consider it as a raise." The phone click off. Salamence walks over to me looking sad. "Rawr....." I looked over to Declan. "He said that you were the first grunt not to use him as a tool." I look back at Salamence. "Then let's give you a name."

Normal POV

In Giovanni's office

Giovanni looks at blueprints for some sort of machine this is currently being built in a secret location. The machine uses the power from legendary pokemon items such as, red orb, blue orb, soul dew, and many more. He smile evilly at the date it will be complete. He picks up the phone and calls in two grunts. Slyvi and Yumi.

"I have a mission for the both of you." He tells them. A hour pass and the two left for their mission.

Cora is now an Elite grunt. Mewtwo has been captured by team rocket, what is the machine, and most of all, who was that mysterious Pokemon?
