SIYA's POV

***************

"Everyone here?" Sameer asked as we all gathered in the basement where Mehndi ceremony was held last night.

"Dude, can we skip this attendance?" Kaira asked annoyingly.

"You aren't even invited so buzz off," Sameer teased her.

"Guys!" I hissed at them, "now is not the time!"

I narrowed my eyes at them and this time, it did work. Both of them mouthed 'whatever' and stepped back.

Geez!

Why can't they ever put their differences aside?

"Moving on!" Alison cut the tension, "we all have to run a practice dance here since this is our stage. Alia is sleeping so now is the perfect time. Stand next to your partner cuz we have only two hours to practice for our first performance!" She clapped her hands together like a little kid.

Partners? When did that happen?

"Oh and Siya, don't bother," She continued, "you are just here cuz we didn't want to do it without you."

I just nodded in agreement and sat on the piano stool. Every one was moving around with their partners and choosing a spot.

Alia's brother, Harman, and Alison.

Dev and Shannon.

Sameer and.... Kaira?!

Armaan and TANYA?!!

WTF?! Who made those pairs?

Armaan can't dance with Tanya and how the hell did Kaira and Sameer agree to dance together? It is so hard to believe that these four actually agreed to this arrangement. That's good that they are sorting out their differences even if it was just for a dance, but seriously, how much did I miss?

The music began and everyone started moving with the beat, hands in hands, with perfect chemistry. Sameer and Kaira did not look that happy but those moves were coming through. I shifted my gaze to Armaan who had his hands wrapped around Tanya's waist as he lifted her off the ground. They were so damn close that the sight of it really hurt my eyes. I unintentionally clenched my fist and looked away.

They looked cute and I hated even the thought of it.

Aghhrr! What's happening to me?!

My eyes widened in shock when they landed on Shannon. I could clearly see that she was not comfortable with Dev. His hands were constantly slipping down her waist and she was trying her best to keep them off her skin. If I was being affected only by watching him, I could only imagine what Shannon was going through. She didn't have to dance with that moron so why was she?

Agghrr! People like him really annoy the hell out of me.

"Guys! Let's have breakfast first?" I asked and everyone agreed.

I gave Shannon a pitied look as she walked outside.

This guy! He really needs to learn his lesson now!

"Jealous, huh?" Alison stopped next to me.

"What?!" I asked as if I didn't know what she meant.

"Armaan and Tanya's chemistry is fab and you are jelly! I saw you making faces when they were dancing," she claimed.

I made faces?

Oh boy!

"That's not the reason," I moaned.

Well, it partially was but I didn't have to admit it in front Alison as that would only add another pebble in that teasing bucket and I didn't want to give her another scenario to tease me with. I already had enough of it.

"Oh come on! If you say, I can make sure that she doesn't get to dance."

"Like I said, that's not the reason," I shrugged.

NO WAIT!! How?

"How, though?" My voice trailed off as I moved my focus to the piano, avoiding Alison's eyes.

"How long could have thee denied thy love for the one and only?" Alison changed her voice as she spoke.

"Stop playing Shakespeare with me and Spill?" I asked impatiently and so she did.

Alison was teasing me as she told me her plan but little did she know that Tanya was not going to be the victim.

Oh Yeah!

I walked myself to the kitchen after setting up the trap. Shannon was making toasts there but at the same time I could hear her cursing someone under her breath. It only took me a mere second to figure out that 'someone' was Dev.

"He is a jerk!" She whispered in a wobbly tone as if she could cry any moment.

"I know," I sighed, "wanna teach him a lesson?" I plastered a huge smile on my face.

She didn't look very convinced but I still continued.

"Grab his attention and head upstairs. Careful on the steps and leave the rest to me!" I winked.

As we placed the plate full of toasts on the dining table, I watched Shannon smiling at Dev from the corner of my eye. He was just about to walk himself into the trap!

"I am gonna take a shower first," she slightly winked at Dev who gave her a dirty look.

The moment Shannon left the dining room, Dev excused himself too. I smiled to myself but Alison caught me and raised her eyebrows, giving me her what-the-hell-is-going-on look.

I pretended that I didn't notice her and tip-toed outside. Shannon looked at me when she realised there was a string attached across the second step then she looked at Dev and smiled at him.

That fool followed her and soon there was a loud bang on the floor. I looked away to hide my laugh as everyone rushed outside. Their tensed looks turned into laughter too when they saw Dev kissing the expensive timber wood. He was moaning but no one really bothered about that.

Shannon gave me an amused look as Sameer and Harman helped Dev to get off the floor. I noticed that there was a huge purple patch on his left cheek as he limped on his way to the couch. Man! I loved the sight of it.

"Bitch, that's where you wanted use my plan?" Alison whispered in my ears.

"Yup!" I winked at her.

She had told me to tie a string slightly higher across the first step. This way the person's foot will strangle in the string, forcing them to fall flat on their face and possible end up with a strained muscles.

AND THAT WORKED!!

"Shannon can explain the rest," I whispered to her and pointed towards the staircase.

"Remove that string before anyone notices," she whispered before heading up.

I smiled to myself and followed her advise but the string was not there.

"Looking for this," Armaan whispered in my right ear and brought his hand forward, "you better be careful next time!"

"Err... Yeah," I sighed as he slipped the string in his pocket.

"Am I disturbing?" A male voice asked. It was heavy and deep and sounded like....

DAD?!

"No, Not at all," I hesitated, stepping away from Armaan.

"We need to talk. Follow me," he said firmly and turned around.

He gestured me to follow and so I did.

Now what?!
