After 2 weeks of endless studying, Katie sat for the exam and passed in flying colors. She got A+ in both Mathematics and English while she got A- in Current Affairs.  She was the first overall out of over 500 students that sat for the exam.

     After everyone heard of Katie's result, Mrs. Flowers decided to take them all to Shoprite in Dugbe for shopping and other fun things but Katie declined because her mother had told her so many stories of how people had been kidnapped at the mall so she was very scared to go.

They laughed at what Katie said because it sounded so unreal.  They drove to the mall. They bought toys, bags, clothes, stationery, shoes and lots more. Katie began to feel so stupid because she did not want to go. She thanked Bloom continuously and prayed for her every second.

      On their way home, Bloom told Katie of her plan to adopt her legally. Katie was so happy because they really cared about her. Mabel was so happy because she had always wanted a younger sister. Mabel hugged her instantly and told her not to worry that she would be there for her no matter what happened.

Henry, Mabel's father was not happy with the way his family was treating Katie. He was a really mean person. He tried all his best to convince his wife to offer, Katie,e away but none of his plans worked. He also tried to poison Katie but the dog ended up eating. the food and it died. Mrs. Flowers suspected her husband and decided to confront him. Henry confessed and apologized to Katie and the family was back together
