After Laura picked Katie up from her parents house, Katie was really hungry but did not know how to tell her aunty so she kept quiet. After driving for close to 1 hour, Laura started talking and told Katie, "I won't be around for sometime so you would have to stay with my friend until I get back". Katie nodded and the drive continued.
     Katie stayed quiet throughout and when they got to their destination, Laura honked and a man opened the gate.
     Katie looked at the compound amazed. It was a duplex with a boys quarter and a gate house just beside the gate and it had a garage,  Canopy for the cars and a store house. 
     Three kids came out of the house looking radiant and Katie jumped out of the car and went to meet the woman and her husband and know it to greet them.
     They were pretty amazed at Katie's behaviour and asked her to stand. The three kids were Mabel, who was 13, Louis, who was 11 and Will who was 9 years of age.
     Katie went to meet Mabel looking really shy and introduced herself. Mabel was also impressed and both Will and Louis took her inside the house wuth Mabel following closely at the back show her the room she would be staying.
     Katie was really amazed at how big the room was. She asked Mabel whose room it was and when Mabel said it was her room, Katie quickly jumped on the soft mattress behaving all local which made the kids laugh.

Katie and Mabel got along real quick and immediately, Katie slapped Mabel and Mabel asked what it was for and she replied," When my aunt came to pick me up this afternoon, I welcomed her and she slapped me so I thought it was the newway of greeting in the city".
     Mabel then said, " It is not a new way of greeting anywhere. If someone slaps you, it means the person hates you or is angry with you". Katie then said, "How will it aunt be angry with me?"
     Mabel asked Katie other questions and she answered. Mabel complimented her way of speaking and she appreciated it.

     That same night, The woman called Katie to the living room to discuss with her. Katie answered the woman who she later found out her name was Bloom.
     Bloom said, "Katie don't dare me in anyway. You came to work as a maid here so don't try anything stupid and if You do, I would personally roast you alive".
     Katie was dumbstruck. Her aunt told her she was travelling not that she wa coming to work as a maid . Katie knelt on front of Mrs Flowers, Bloom and said, " Ma, my aunt told me you were her friend and that she was travelling so when she travels you would take care if me not that I'm working as a maid "
      "Hey, don't sass me young lady. I paid your aunt 50 thousand naira for you to work for me as a maid", Bloom replied 
        Katie could not sleep that night because she was thinking about what Bloom said.

Who would actually think slapping was a way of greeting on the city?
She has been in a deserted area which you could also call a village for ten years. So, what else do you expect?
