After discovering the fate of his parents, Ezra remained locked away in his cabin; it had been like this for the past two weeks. His crew, trying to support him, gave the boy his space for the first few days - Zeb even slept in the medbay - but after that, attempted to enter the room and talk to him. The teenager just lay on his bed, facing the wall whilst thinking about his beloved parents; whenever he heard someone knock on the door, he remained silent. And when Kanan and Hera tried opening the door with either the force or the override code, he would use the force himself to keep it tightly shut.

In the common room, Hera informed her crew - minus Ezra of course - they that had landed on the planet Hoth and would be taken some time off from the rebellion. Having an idea, Kanan rose from his seat as he told the group that he would be back in a little bit and hopefully with the kid. Making his way through the hallway until he reached Ezra's and Zeb's shared cabin, Kanan eagerly knocked on the metal door; no reply was heard so he man continued.

Do you wanna build a snowman,
Come on, let's go play on the planet Hoth,
We never see you anymore,
Come out the door,
It's like you've gone away,
We used to be best buddies,

Disappointed that his attempt had failed, Kanan returned to the common room with a sigh; he shook his head to the crew who had been waiting with very much hope that they would finally see their youngest member once again. At least the boy had spoke, even if it was for his master to 'go away'. Deciding they themselves needed to relax and have some fun, Hera suggested they go out and play in the snow, to which Zeb and Sabine happily agreed and rushed to change into some more suitable clothes - warm coats, fluffy hats, scarfs and gloves and snow boots.

As soon as they were ready, they made their way towards the ramp and left the ship to enjoy their time off; Hera joined the two soon after - she wanted to talk with her partner before hand about Ezra. Kanan, however, didn't want to go without his padawan so he stayed, reassuring Hera that all would be okay and to enjoy herself. The man meditated for half on hour in his room, trying to speak to the teenager through their bond - only to be pushed away or blocked, before he decided to attempt once again to get Ezra to leave his room.

[Knocks]

I think some company is overdue,

The pictures on the holodisc,

...It gets really lonely,

It was worse than last time as Ezra didn't even say anything. No "go away Kanan". Wiping a hand down his face, Kanan turned and left for the common room where he contacted Hera through their comlinks and informed her of his failed attempted "he wouldn't even speak this time" he sighed; the woman reassured the man "keep trying love, I'm sure he'll come out if you do".

Allowing her to return to Sabine and Zeb who were, in fact, in the middle of building a snowman, Kanan decided to watch the holo-net for an hour before he decided it was time for one last attempt. As he found himself once again standing outside of the boys shared cabin, Kanan took a deep breath before exhaling as he slowly and hesitantly knocked.

[Knocks slowly]
...Ezra, please I know you're in there,
The others are asking how you've been,
They say "be patient" and I'm trying to,
I'm right out here for you,
Just let me in...

...We only Jedi left,
It's just you and me,
What are we gonna do,
Do you wanna build a snowman".

Just like before, Kanan heard nothing come from the room; he lowered his head, pressing it against the door as he closed his eyes momenteraly. Sighing, the man turned from the door and began to leave for his own room when the sound of the door opening forced him to a halt. Turning back around, the man found his eyes landing on the very missed boy; Ezra had his head turned to the ground with his arms wrapped around his thin frame. "Hey" the teenage quietly greeted, his voice less than a whisper as if he didn't trust it; the man couldn't stop the smile that formed on his face "hey kid".

Before he could hold back, Ezra's shoulders began to shake and was followed by the sound of his growing sobs; his master didn't wait another second as he pulled the crying boy into a warm and secure embrace. He rubbed his back and ran his fingers through the navy blue locks until the kids sobs eased to mere whimpers; the man moved back so that he could see his padawan's tear stained face. Wiping the last few tears away gently, Kanan watched as the young boy opened his mouth to talk "is...is that offer still open??" he asked; his master knew immediately what offer he was talking about and smiled "always" he nodded "go change into some warmer clothes and I'll meet you by the ramp".

Doing as he was told, Ezra changed into the new clothes that Hera had bought him a while ago, after discovering he had nothing suitable for a mission that was also located on the planet Hoth. Once ready, he indeed met Kanan by the ramp who had also changed into his own warmer clothes; they smiled before rushing out into the snow where they found the others - they were having a snow ball fight. They were all happy to see their youngest crew member join in, happy and smiling once again.

Would it take some more time for him to accept to his parents horrid fate?? Aboslutely. But his family would be there for him. They just had to take it day by day, step by step.
