A SIMPLE GUIDE TO LIFE {Part 4}
How to Stop Crushing On Someone
(FOR TEENSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS that's too many Ss)
Whether it's because they like someone else, hate you, or is a distraction you don't want, sometimes crushes just aren't needed in life.
Recently I found out that James (the boy who gave me a reason to want to go to school) likes Lila (the girl who gave me a reason to want to leave the universe) and she liked him back.
Now they're dating.
And hugging right in front of me.
And I don't care! Beacuse I stopped crushing on James as soon as I found out they liked each other (after a good cry, of course). How did I do it so quickly you ask? Well I'm here to tell you!
Step 1: Think about those who actually care about you.
I have asked myself: why do we even crush on people? And my answer to that question was this:
Every human, unless you have no heart or emotion (*cough* Voldemort *cough*) wants to feel loved or cared about.
It's part of The Human Condition. We want to feel like we mean something to people and have a purpose on this earth! Why shouldn't we? Us who live in First World Countries as so lucky. We have so many freedoms, so many rights and so many reasons to live!
We shouldn't be hung about one person who doesn't feel the same way back. After all, there are 7 billion people on this earth, 7 billion opportunites... and we should focus on the few that cherish and love us for who we are.
I'm lucky to have a beautiful family who I appreaciate to the moon and back. I am so grateful that my parents aren't abusive and my siblings aren't victims to drugs or alchohol. When I went through hard times, was James there to hold my back and look after me? No. Was my family there, praying for me, loving me even though I looked like a wreck and couldn't go to the toilet or bathe myself? YES! In fact my mum was there so much she was told to go home and have a sleep! (Yes, I'm talking about my spine surgery!).
There are so many people who love you to the end of the universe and back. If you've been blessed with a beautiful family, embrace it! They'll be there for you, and adolescent classmates will not.
Thinking about this is important. YOU MEAN THE WORLD TO SOMEONE OR EVEN MORE (most likely more!) Why pull yourself apart over a crush who doesn't love you for what they see when there are people who love you and they have seen the whole of you, inside out?
Step 2: Who are they really?
No one's perfect, hell do we know that already! We all have flaws, we all have a secret we don't want anyone to know, AND SO DOES YOUR CRUSH!
BELIEVE IT OR NOT, BUT THEY ARE NOT JESUS!
They probably have values or beliefs that you don't agree with or do things you don't think are right. Bet you 100% you don't know them completely. You don't know what they do in the shower, how they treat their family, what their favourite brand of toilet paper is, what they do when they wear their pants backwards idk. You just don't know everything about them.
And what's the odds that something you don't know about them really ticks you off? Their flaws you once admired suddenly become super annoying?
I don't know how to explain this, but you shouldn't make a commitment unless you are super sure of what you're singing up for.
Nobody reads the terms and conditions, right?
Well I guess the hardest thing of entering a relationship would to do just that.
Know how to handle things, what to do when their is problems, and all that crap.
Crap? Crap? CRAP! CRAP! IT IS NOT CRAP YOU ACTUALLY NEED TO KNOW THAT OMGGGG
Sorry for the rude interruption from the rational part of my brain. It's cra-
IT IS NOT!
Fineeee.... it's not crap. Just think about it ya'll.
Step 3: You deserve better!
This is obvious, I meannnn....
As stated before, there are 7 Billion people on the planet. It might taken longer to find the guy who's right for you then just a couple years of high school! Some people are just lucky but meh.
You know that there is three answers God has to prayer?
Yes.
No.
Wait.
Will I ever find my person that's right for me?
Yes (common)
No (rare)
Wait (common).
Sure it's frustrating, but patience is a virture.
"All good things come to those who wait."
Feel sorry for all the teens that rush into relationships!
Don't you think they would go so much more out of their relationships if they were a little bit older? Sure experience pays off, but being older, you are more mature, less likely to make mistakes out peer pressure and generally more likely to think rationally.
Random stuff to support step 3:
13/14 y/o: Omg he's so hawttt lemme at himmmm f me dead blah blah BLAH BLAH 21 *dab**flips bottle* COLE SPROUSE SO HAWT AHHHH SHAWN MENDES AHHHH LEMME BE a GOTH AHHHH NUH i'm vegetrain don't believe in cruelty AHHHH can i borrow a tampon? Omg someone just made a dirty joke... *dabs*
(now that's crap he he)
18/19 y/o: I gotta find a university ughhh no time for crazes and love!
Look what you made me do
Look what you made me do
WHY IS THAT SONG SO MESSED UP, I KNOW THIS IS SO OFF TOPIC BUT I WANT THE OLD TAYLOR BACK. I WAS NEVER OBSESSED WITH HER BUT APPREACIATED HER SONGS BUT WHY YOU BITING JEWLERRY IN A BATHTUB (is that how you spell jewelerry or is it jewelry?) this song is literally on the top of all the charts and it's... messed up. BRING BACK TCHAIKOVKSY AND MOZART!
Let's just all try to fit in because the world is seriously judgemental these days and if you still wear crocs you are a subject to a bad vine and that's fine, you wear crocs.
it's easy to be heartbroken over someone and you might fill like a pile of excretion and that's okay, we all feel like excretion sometimes. We're not needed so let's just get you outta here. It's apart of life.
But you are loved and there's still time in your beautiful life to find someone.

:) It's okay. I have gone a bit weird recently because I am free from my cursh and don't care what he or Lila thinks anymore, even if she is still glaring or rolling her eyes at us.
I also act a bit drunk when I'm tired ;)
- see ya bye xx Gabs
