When the day I was to resume back finally came, I was scared shitless.

You know that kind of fear that threatens to consume you alive? The kind that makes your knees buckle and your teeth chatter. That was where I was, I was scared to meet the school again, scared to see everyone's faces and most of all, of scared to see him again.

While the driver was driving, I felt an overwhelming sense of panic. I was restless, my feet was tapping on the car floor endlessly, my palm was slick with sweat and I had to bite down on my lip to restrain myself from telling the driver to turn back and take me home.

"You good?"  Lawrence asked. I nodded my head in response. He frowned and looked down at my hands which were intertwined. He sighed and disentangled it and held them in his.

"Come on, we've talked about this. You can do this, you don't have to be scared of anyone or anything. I'll make sure Daniels doesn't hurt you again, just stay out of his way okay?" He said in a soothing voice.

"What if people laugh at me when I arrive or something?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper, I wasn't ashamed of showing my fear because there was no one to actually defend me if shit goes down today. Elvira went to the dentist to get her braces done and Lawrence was in another class. Lilac was there but the sweet soul wasn't designed for very harsh comebacks or fighting in general.

As if reading my mind, he touched my chin for a brief second before speaking.

"And so? What if they laugh? That's all they can do, and you should not let what they do or say get to you. You're a strong independent girl and I'm sure you can handle whatever is to come." He said and finally leaned back to relax on his seat.

I felt a little bit better upon hearing his words and i started to mentally prepare myself up for what was to come. When we finally pulled up to the parking lot of the school, I took a deep breath and got down from the car.

"Yolanda, don't allow anything that anyone say or do get to you alright?" He said to me. I nodded my head and took a deep breath.

As I walked into the school premises, I could already hear whispers and murmurs wit my name in them. I could see students pointing at me, looking at me and exchanging gossip. I swallowed the bile rising up in my throat and went straight to my class. As soon as I entered, the whole class became silent. Every person that was speaking stopped immediately I walked in. I hesitated, considering fleeing to the toilet or somewhere private, but then I remembered what Lawrence told me so I summoned the courage to walk in.

"Guess who decided to show up, the Roach Queen!" Chloe snickered from the back, which made the class erupt into laughter. It stung but I said nothing, instead I walked to my seat and sat down.

"Ohhh, looks like she's still traumatized. Cat got you tongue?" She said again. I said nothing, I wasn't in the mood to reply, I just wanted this day to be over with so I could go back to the comfort of the house.

"Leave her alone! Can't you see she's just recovering from that traumatic experience?" I heard Lilac shout at her.

"Oh, I forgot you're her little slave. Rubbish" Chloe shot back. Lilac hissed and came to sit beside me, she looked at me with concern and pity in her eyes.

"Babes, how are you? How have you been? I missed you so much" she said and hugged me. I smiled and hugged her too, glad to see her after a while.

"I've been home. I got discharged last week but the doctor insisted I spend a week at home to relax a bit. If I had my way, I wouldn't even be here to be honest" I replied.

"For real? I don't blame you though, this school has a way of sucking someone's soul dry" she replied. I laughed and shook my head at her words.

"Uhm you know he's around right?" She said softly. Immediately she said that, my smile died faster than I could say Jack. Out of nowhere I started to feel panic in my chest and stomach. My eyes darted around for signs of him but I couldn't find him anywhere.

"Hey calm down...he has a match this morning so he is in the field playing right now. You won't see him for another hour or so"

Even with that I still felt fear, the idea of having that monster in the same school with me was unsettling.

"A lot of people actually were worried about you. Some asked of you and all and I told them you were hospitalized and all. Tayo was in the worst moods all the time, he almost fought with Daniels one time like this. He keeps blaming himself for what happened to you and all and no matter how much I tried to tell him it wasn't his fault, he still won't listen" she said. I felt guilty when she mentioned Tayo's name. He always tried to warn me but I never listened to him. Instead, I entered Daniels trap like a fool and got trapped...and bitten.

"Where is he?" I asked curiously.

"Oh he hasn't come to school yet, maybe he will come later who knows. But he sure did miss you though" she explained. I sighed, I missed him too.

"I hope he comes sha. There is a lot I really want to tell him, plus some apologies I need to give him" I said.

"Don't worry he will, he never really misses school. Although it's unlike him to be late, he usually comes every early"

I was starting to get worried.  And as if she saw the worry on my face, she reached out and took my hand.

"Hey calm down okay? He will come, don't worry. Meanwhile let's quickly go get some snacks before second period starts. I'm really very hungry"  she said and dragged me up. I followed her, smiling at the way she was holding my hand cutely, leading me outside the class.

But then I bumped into someone on the corridor and rubbed my hand over ,y forehead, feeling the effect of the bump.

"Oh I'm so so-"

The words died in my throat when I saw the human I had bumped into. I heard Lilac's gasp when she saw the person too. Raw, hot anger, fear and disgust coursed through me at once. His face was expressionless but his eyes were trained on me.

"Hello Yolanda" he said calmly, like he didn't commit that despicable act to me weeks ago, like he didn't make me a laughing stock in front of all the students. I didn't say anything, I was trying to calm my heartbeat down.

"Daniels leave her alone.. please" Lilac pleaded and held my hand. My hands were shaking as I took one step back.

Then I turned away and ran.

You guysss, she's going through a lot 😭

I actually understand how she feels. A guy made me feel that way too a year ago ( ps he didn't dump cockroaches on me or try to drown me sha 😂) but whenever I see him, it's like I'm going to pass out from panic attack.

I'm sorry for not being active much, I've been really busy but I'll try my best to from now on.
