Extra Ep: See The Memories, Reveal The Past
Your POV
The day was kind of boring. Dipper was down in the basement with Ford while Wendy, Mabel, and I were in the gift shop. Mabel had asked me to do a sketch of her and Waddles so she could put it on her wall which I didn't mind since I got to draw an adorable pig, meanwhile Wendy was just reading a magazine.
You: And........... done!
Mabel: Yay!!!! Let me see!!!
You: *show Mabel the drawing*
Mabel: It's beautiful!!!! You got me and Waddles's cuteness just right!!!!
Wendy: Yeah, dude, it turned out awesome!
You: *laugh* Thanks, guys.
Mabel: How did you learn to draw?!?
You: ... *look at the ground before smiling genuinely at Mabel* Both my parents had a love for art. My father loved to sketch while my mother loved to paint. I guess I inherited their talent.
Mabel: Oh, I'm sorry...
You: It's fine, it brings back good memories.
Mabel: Well, I'm happy to hear that!!! It's nice to have an artist who can draw you things anytime you want!!!
You: You're a pretty good artist yourself though.
Mabel: I know, but let's be honest, I'm not that good! At least, not as good as you!
You: Hey, you can make wax statues, I can only do a face on a piece of paper.
You and Mabel: *laugh*
You: Well, I'm gonna go grab my coloring pencils. I'll be right back.
Mabel: Ok!!!
I go to my room. I had forgotten where I had left my colored pencils so I started searching around my drawers. I opened one of them and found my memory tube. Huh, it feels like so long ago when I found this. I held it in my hands, still unsure if I should see my memories. Just then the door opened and I almost dropped the memory tube.
???: (y/n), I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startled you!
You: It's ok, Ford. What are you doing here?
Ford: I need a book for an experiment and Dipper told me it was in here.
You: Oh, well, most of our books are on top of the dresser.
Ford: Thank you. *notices the memory tube you're holding* Is that a memory tube...?!?
You: !!! I- uh- ... *sigh* Yeah...
Ford: Have you already seen those memories?
You: ... *slowly shake your head*
Ford: Why not?
You: I don't think you'd understand...
Ford: Look, I might not be good in pep talks, or most talks, but I can listen.
You: Well... *sit on your bed*
Ford: *sits next to you*
You: About two weeks ago or so we discovered this secret society cult thing called the Blind Eye, you probably know about them.
Ford: Yes, go on.
You: And while being there, I found this. *nod at the tube* The strange thing is that whenever someone got their memories removed they sort of... remembered it. However, none of it felt familiar at all except for the ray. So I think that the memories that were erased from my mind we different than the rest. Like it wasn't just erasing something disturbing or weird, but something big and dangerous... I fear that maybe I did something in the past that might change what everyone thinks about me...
Ford: You think that whatever was taken away from your mind was something bad you did and everyone will hate you for it.
You: Yeah...
Ford: (y/n), I know I haven't been here for very long, but it doesn't take a genius to see that this family loves you very much. Mabel thinks of you as the twin sister she always wished for, Stan says that you're like the granddaughter he never had, and Dipper-... well, it's best if tells you that himself. My point is: anything that you might've done in the past won't affect what they think of you. They love you, and nothing could change that.
You: *smile genuinely* Thanks, Ford. But even if I wanted to watch them now I don't exactly have the machine for it.
Ford: Don't worry about that, it's an easy problem. So then, you wish to see your memories?
You: I'm pretty nervous about it, but the longer I'll wait the worst it'll get so... what the heck.
Ford: *nods* Go to the basement in a few hours with the memory tube.
You: Ok.
I felt cold. Something still told me that these memories held something bad about my past. But I needed to know.
I found my coloring pencil and went back to the gift shop, Mabel and Wendy were asking where I'd been but I just told them that I forget where my coloring pencils were. The rest of the day I was quieter than usual, and people seemed to notice. Dipper asked me many times if there was something bothering me, but I always denied.
Hours passed, I went down to the basement. Ford was there with the memory machine.
Ford: Are you ready?
You: *take a deep breath* Yeah, I'm ready.
Ford left me alone in the room. I placed the memory tube in the machine and held on to myself tightly.
~time skip~
My hands were shaking, my body trembling, tears falling down my face. What had I just seen...?!? Why was that taken away from me...?!? I went back up to the gift shop. Luckily no one was there. I needed time alone, and the Mystery Shack wasn't the best place.
Dipper's POV
It had been hours since I last saw (y/n), Mabel hadn't seen her either. We asked Stan, Wendy, and Soos. No one had seem her. I started to get worried. It wasn't like her to leave unannounced. We all got worried and looked around. Nothing.
Mabel: Did anyone see (y/n) leave the shack?!?
Wendy: The last time I saw her was when she went to her room earlier today!
Soos: I saw her going to the kitchen a few hours ago.
Mabel: Oh, where could she be?!?
Ford: *enters*
Dipper: Great uncle Ford!!! Have you seen (y/n) anywhere?!?
Mabel: We haven't seen her in hours!!!
Ford: Hm... hang on for a moment.
Ford goes down to the basement. He stayed there for a few minutes before coming back up with a worried look and (y/n)'s memory tube?!?
Mabel: Grunkle Ford...?!?
Dipper: Why do you have that...?!?
Ford: Earlier today (y/n) and I had a conversation about her and her memories. She had made up her mind to finally see them so I rebuilt the memory machine. She said she wanted to watch them alone so I left.
Wendy: Wait, (y/n) had her memories erased?!?
Ford: Apparently so.
Stan: We need to find her. Wendy, Dipper, search the woods; Soos, you and I will search the town; Mabel and Ford will stay here incase she comes back.
Mabel: Dipper, where are you going?!?
Dipper: I have an idea where (y/n) might be.
I remembered how she told me that whenever she needed to be alone and think she would always go to the same place. I ran into the woods. I didn't know the way as well as she did but I still had a faint memory.
I made it to the familiar house in the middle of the woods. (y/n) was there up on the roof, hugging her knees up to her chest and with her face low, her bangs covering it. I climbed up and called her name. She looked at me, her eyes were red and puffy as if she had been crying for hours.
Dipper: (y/n), we were worried sick, what happened?!?
You: I needed to be alone...
Dipper: ...Ford told me about you and your memories. I'm guessing they weren't the best once...?
You: *slowly shake your head*
Dipper: If you don't mind me asking, what did you see...?
You: I... I saw what happened to my parents...
Dipper: What...?!? Really...?!?
You: *slowly nod*
Dipper: What did you see...?!?
You: ...
Dipper: I-If you want to tell me...
You: *as tears start forming in your eyes* ... it was an ordinary day...
(Btw italic writing is you narrating)
~flashback~
An afternoon, I was in my room sketching random things. I started to hear laughter and my head started to spin, so I went to the bathroom to wash my face. When I did, I noticed a shadow behind me and some strands of my hair started to turn gold. I didn't know if I was dreaming or something, but I decided to go to my parents.
You: Um... mom...?
Mom: Oh, hey, sweetheart! You're just in time, your father's almost done with lunch.
You: Listen, I-
Mom: Did you paint your hair?!?!?
You: N-no, no!!! I know this will probably sound crazy, but this just appeared out of no where!!!
My mom stared at me in shock and disbelief. I heard the laugh from earlier, my mom heard it too. She looked around and hugged me tight, then she called my dad and they started talking about things I didn't really understand. My dad went upstairs and my mom led me outside and into the car. My dad came back carrying a luggage, then went to the driver's seat and started driving.
You: Mom?!? Dad?!? What's going on?!?
Mom: It's nothing to be worried about, sweetheart!
Dad: We just need to get out of town for a little while!
You: Why though?!?
Dad: Just a little vacation!
Voice: *laughs maniacally*
The rest was a blur. There was a loud crash followed by darkness. After what felt like hours I finally woke up with a massive migraine. The sight I saw next was something I would've never liked to see. Both my parents laid lifeless on the floor. The car was intact, but it had crashed against the tree. I tried to shake my parents awake, but they wouldn't wake up. I started to cry. That's when I saw Bill. He was laughing at his masterpiece, pointing the memory at me.
~flashback~
You: A-and-... that's all I remember...
I could only stare. I couldn't even imagine what she felt right now. I didn't know what to do. (y/n) started to cry again, and I couldn't blame her. I wrapped my arms around her and she didn't hesitate to hug my back, burying her face in my chest.
We stayed like this for what felt like hours, but I honestly liked it. I liked this feeling, of me being able to comfort her, to protect her. (y/n) lifted her head to look at me, her eyes red and glassy. She then said to go back to the shack, her voice cracking a bit. I agreed.
Your POV
What I saw in my memories hit me hard, but telling Dipper about it made me feel better in a way. He was always there for me when I needed him, I liked that. We made our way back to the shack. When we got there, everyone's eyes lit up. Stan and Mabel immediately wrapped their arms around me. I hugged them back, and smile growing on my face. Soos and Wendy joined soon after.
Mabel: Where were you?!?!?!?
You: I... just needed some time alone...
Stan: Well, just so you know, you're grounded!
You: Yeah, I though so.
Soos: Dude, you really scared us!
You: I'm really sorry, I know I shouldn't told you I left but I just kinda chose in the moment.
Dipper: The point is: she's back now.
You: And after today, I think I should get some rest. I'll see you all tomorrow.
I went to bed, the thoughts of my memories still in my head. I was so exhausted I fell asleep as soon as my head felt the soft pillow.
The feeling didn't last long. A while after, I woke up in the room from my nightmares, the golden chain wrapped around my neck as usual. I wasn't in the mood, I didn't care. At least, not until I heard a familiar chuckle. My eyes narrowed in anger as the golden dorido appeared a few feet away from me.
Bill: Hey, Gemstone. I see you finally found out your past.
You: Why did you do that?
Bill: Why did I what?
You: Why did you kill them?
Bill: Ah, your parents.
You: ANSWER MY QUESTION!!! WHY DID YOU KILL THEM?!? WHY?!?
Bill: Kid, I didn't kill you parents. It was a car accident.
You: Then why were you there, huh?!? I saw you that day!!! I heard your laugh!!! I know you were there!!!
Bill: I was only there to take my part of the deal.
You: Deal?!? What deal?!?
Bill: Well, I might as well tell you. As you know, thirty years ago, old sixer was building the portal along with his two partners: Fiddleford and Joseph. While glasses wanted to shut it down, Joseph wanted to keep the project going. See, your grandfather was the kind of man who would do anything, and I mean anything, to learn all the knowledge and answers of the universe.
You: My... what...?
Bill: One day he stumbled upon me, and we struck a deal. I would give him all the knowledge of the universe, in exchange for the next person born in your family to be my slave. Your father was already born, so that would mean *boops your nose* you~! And those strands if here are a mark of me. You parents new about this and the day I came to pick you up they tried moving you away. Of course, that didn't end as well as they planned.
You: But why would you even want me as your slave?!? Why do you even want a slave?!?
Bill: Because I knew you were soon coming to this world, and I knew that you would get close to the Pines family. I have big plans coming my way, and with you as my slave I can use this to my advantage. Maybe blackmail, maybe just a sacrifice, who knows.
You: ...w-well what about you "befriending" me all those weeks ago?!?
Bill: I just wanted to know my slave personally.
You: Why haven't you captured me yet?!? You could've easily taken me captive the day of the car crash!!!
Bill: I tried, but before they died, your parents casted some spell that would keep me away from you. Luckily it finally wore off.
You: You're insane!!!
Bill: Of course I am, what's your point?
You: You won't get away with this, we'll stop you!!!
Bill: *laughs* You're funny! That's funny! Go ahead, it'll be a nice show to see you try!
You: *notice the world around starting to disappear* Wha-?!?
Bill: Welp, looks like you're waking up. I'll see you later! And remember: reality is an illusion, the universe is a hologram, buy gold, BYEEEEEEE!!!
You: HEY WAIT-!!!
And just like that I was back in my room, back in my bed. My blood cold, my skin sweaty. I felt my eyes starting to sting. That's what I was all about?!? I'm just a pawn in some sick twisted deal that my grandfather made?!? I was brought back from my thoughts when I heard the door swing open revealing Dipper in his pjs, his eyes widened in surprise.
Dipper: (y/n), I heard you yell, what happened?!?
I guess I yelled the last thing out loud.
You: N-nothing, I'm fine, e-everything's... fine.
Dipper: Are you sure...?!? You look really pale and-!
You: I said I'm fine!!!
I accidentally snapped at him. He looked at me a bit startled, but mostly worried. I realized what I had done and covered my face in my hands as I apologized to him. I felt warm arms around me, and I hugged him back. Dipper's hugs are always so comforting.
Dipper: It's ok, I know this is probably really hard on you right now. You don't have to apologize.
You: Dipper... It's not just that...
Dipper: What is it then...?
You: ...
Dipper: You know you can tell me anything, ok?
You: I know, you're always there for me... *tighten your grip on Dipper's shirt as you bury your face in his chest* You always listen... But... I'm afraid...
Dipper: Afraid of what...?
You: That you won't think of me the same now...
Dipper: Why would you even think that?!? (y/n), I told you before, nothing will ever make me change my mind about you!
You: ...I-I know... you're right... Ok, listen. Last night I had a nightmare...
~after you tell Dipper everything~
You: So... that's everything...
Dipper: Whoa... Oh my gosh, I-... I'm so sorry, (y/n)...
You: Don't be, you had nothing to do with this... So, you don't hate me or anything...?
Dipper: *cups your check* Of course not! None of this was your fault.
You: *smile genuinely* Thank you for always being there for me, Dip.
Dipper: *smiles back* Of course, you're always there for me.
I stared into his chocolate brown eyes as he stared into my (e/c) ones. I didn't notice that we started leaning close to each other until our noses started touching, our lips only an inch apart. We both closed our eyes. I could feel his warm breath on my face as my face heat up. The moment was cut short when the door swung open making Dipper and I pull away from each other, Dipper falling from the bed and unto the floor.
Mabel: HELLO!!!
Dipper: *still blushing* Ow!
You: *still blushing* Oh my gosh, are you ok?!?
Dipper: Y-yeah, yeah, I'm fine. *laughs awkwardly*
Mabel: (y/n), you're awake!!! *hugs you*
You: Heh, yeah.
Mabel: *stops hugging you* Come quick!!! Dipper told us what happened to your parents and we're all really sorry so we cooked you a very special breakfast just for you!!!
You: He told you, huh?
Dipper: *stands up laughing awkwardly* Th-they were all really worried, I had to!
You: I'll be down in a bit.
Mabel: Ok!!! *leaves*
Dipper: So... I'll meet you downstairs?
You: Yeah, I'll see you downstairs.
Dipper: *leaves*
I missed my parents more than anything. But even though I don't have them anymore, I still have the rest of my family. And I wouldn't trade them for anything.
Thanks for reading!!! I really hope you liked this extra episode I added!!! It was really fun to write it!!! 'Till next time!!!
