Chapter Four "Lights"

Darkness all around except the little moonlight shining through the planes window's. Emmet was gone and nowhere to be found. The noise from our heavy breathing, and the planes propellers filled the air. We all feared of what would happen next. Who might come for us, how this all happened, if we're going to be ok? We sat their until we seen or heard a sign, Nothing.

We thought maybe minuets have gone by hours even, but we didn't know, all we knew was that we we're still flying. How could the lights go out but we still have power to fly? It just didn't seem right. It made no sense only thing that would, would be the light bulbs were bad, but its a highly modified plane. After so long of wind hitting the windows, the sound of the planes propellers straining to fly, our breathing slowing down almost to the point we can hear each other's heart beats, we finally speak.

"It's been a while, why hasn't Emmet come back yet?" Re with the first words to fill the air and take our attention. "Good question, should we stay sitting here or go look for him?" Alex replied in a sore, cracking, scared voice. "Maybe I should go, Alone!" "Why can't I go with you?" "Do you really want to leave Rebecca here by herself, in the dark after everything that just happened. She's just so young, and plus I know how to protect myself Alex." "Okay, fine."

I'm feeling the top compartments to try finding a flashlight. I find one. I start walking towards the front of the plane, I hear a sound coming from the bathroom. A mumbling sound. I see a little weapon compartment behind a seat closest to the planes controlling room. I grab whatever I could find I pull out a tazer. Then I open the bathroom door. There's Emmet on the floor all tied up. THERE'S SOMEONE ON THE PLANE. I fine another flashlight and I run back to Alex and Re, but they're not there. They're gone. I ran back to Emmet he's ok just a bloody nose. I untied him and ripped off the tape over his mouth. He kept trying to tell me something but he was trembling too much. I brought him back to where we were before and got some blankets.

"Emmet can you hear me? Just nod if u can." I asked him a few questions. "Is there someone else on the plane with us?" He nodded yes. "Are they trying to hurt us?" He nodded yes. "Do you know who?" He nodded yes. "Do you know why?" He nodded yes. "Are you able to speak now that your warmed up?" "Y...Y... Yes" Emmet struggled to say. "W... Well I... I know this... This man. He... he's my b... boss, But... N... Now he... he's trying to ...kill me." "Why is he trying to kill you?" "Bec... Because I... I tried to help y... you guys in... instead of... F kill... Kill you." "Wait, let me get this straight, you we're sent to kill us, and you didn't because you wanted to help us from the world ending with man eating zombie-clown looking things, which is probably just part of the governments creations that your part of. You just didn't want us to tell the world your secret, as soon as we found out, so your trying to play as if you are here to help!" Emmet just stared at me with an angry and confused face. "You expect me to trust you after you kidnapped us?" "I understand if u don't trust me anymore but your gonna have to trust me just for a few moments of your life. Can you do that, not for me but for your friends and for your parents?" "Don't you DARE use my family against me! I don't care if you think you can save us, you brought us to god knows where, and now we are sick and might not have long before our body's just shut down, and you think we should TRUST you." "I didn't mean to offend you." "Well, I'm going to ask for your help just to find my friends, only this once." As I walked away I knew I was going to regret this.

We find the light panel, and Emmet fixes the lights they come on and Alex and Re still were nowhere to be found. I thought to myself this plane isn't that big, they could be hiding or they are being held hostage on the other side of the plane. We make our way over to the back of the plane and I remember this is where Emmet gone missing for so long, how did he end up in the front where the bathrooms are without us knowing someone went past us?

I see the curtain move, I'm thinking I'm not going to die I can handle this, but then she jumps out at me. Then I heard a gunshot and I got up. It was Rebecca, and it was Alex. Re was scared and didn't know who was coming in the door so she tackled me, but Alex was on his knees holding a gun over a dead body. I walked over and asked Emmet, "Is this your boss?" "No, he's one of his workers. My boss is the president of the united states."

Everyone looked at him, like he's talking crazy. Then he started going on and on. "The government is making these diseases and giving it to all the people to make them seem better. But in actuality they are having these reactions making people go crazy and turning them into something they couldnt contain. Then they let them get loose in certain towns to see what would happen. I know they surely didn't mean for this to come so far out of hand." "Oh, you think this is out of hand. I... I just killed and government agent." "Well, Alex he wasn't a good guy so you know you did the right thing."

We all sit back down in silence, wondering who's going to make the next sound. Then finally I couldn't wait any longer. "Where are we going, and when are we finding my parents?" Alex put his hand on my shoulder. Most contact we had since his house. He said, "Take it easy for a little while, we WILL find them no matter what we have to go through." I found him calming, he made me feel safer than I did before, with just the words it will be ok.

"I'm going to sleep you guys should too." I said in a drained voice. "Emmet is in the controlling room flying us somewhere, hopefully safe. So, we can just go to sleep and wake up somewhere different in the morning and everything will be ok." "Are you sure were not going to die?" Re said in a doubting tone. "Yes, we are going to be ok there's nothing for you to worry so much about." Alex was just trying to calm her but she just burst out with these questions. "Can we trust this guy? He did kidnap us, does he know what he's doing? Is there really a place for us to go? Or is he just lying? How can we trust him if we don't know anything about him? Other that he 'saved' us. Maybe they weren't trying to hurt us, what then?" "Hey sis, take a brake go get some sleep, you'll feel better in the morning ok?" "Okay."

We all took a while to fall asleep. First Re, then Alex, but I just stayed away for a while. I listened to the sounds of the propellers flying, the wind beating on the windows and the soft breathing coming from Alex and Rebecca. All I could see was little, then non, little then non, moonlight shining through. Then I closed the blinds and all I could see was DARKNESS.
