Sad Ending
(Y/n)'s POV
Yashamaru had organised some small vacation for all of us. In return, we had to shoot a music video for their new song. He had refused to give us any other details.
We had headed to a ski resort to spend the rest of the week at. The trip here was somewhat chaotic. I wanted to get some sleep but that turned out to be a bad idea. It was so cold that as soon as we got out of bus, it felt like I was dumped in a frozen lake.
"It's so cold!" Yuuta complained.
"Yeah, of course it's gonna be cold. It's a ski resort," Kento replied while handing him an extra coat.
"Come on, guys. Let's go get our rooms first."
As we headed to the tall building looming ahead of us, I couldn't help but shiver...and it wasn't just because of the cold. It felt like something was going to happen but I didn't know what.
After a while, we went out to ski. Of course, I was excited but I had no experience in this type of thing so I was equally as nervous. I mean, I'd just be a laughing stock if I fell over after one step.
"Hey, why don't we have a snowman building contest?" Hikaru suggested.
"I think it'll be more fun to have a skiing contest," Tatsuhiro replied.
"Guys, we have the whole day. You don't have to rush things," Yashamaru said with a sigh.
"Then how about we do the snowman building first?"
"Yay! Whoever makes the best snowman wins!" Yuuta yelled while running towards a secluded area to start his.
We all looked at each other before smiling and finding our own little area. But wouldn't it be better to do this in teams? I thought it'd be more fun like that.
Someone tapped my shoulder, making me turn around.
"Hey, want to team up?" asked Kento.
"Oi, I was gonna ask her," Goshi exclaimed.
"We can just work together."
Goshi still seemed a little annoyed when we headed off to gather some balls of snow. I simply sighed. A sudden snowball hit my back.
I turned around and threw one back at Kento's face. He dodged just in time while glaring at me. I just smirked. I knew how much he cared about his looks. It'd be fun to ruin his hair.
"Oi, you two. Now's not the time to-"
Yuuta threw one at Goshi's face, making him stop mid-sentence. I couldn't help but laugh as he angrily did the same to Yuuta.
Just as I was about to go gather some snowballs, a loud sound resounded throughout the place. What was that? Lightning? I couldn't pinpoint its exact location.
"(Y/n)!"
I turned around, only to find that it was too late. My visions darkened till I couldn't see a thing anymore.
Goshi's POV
~Some time later~
We had taken (Y/n) to the hospital after the accident. She was trapped underneath a pile of rubble and snow, caused by some kind of landslide.
I couldn't believe that she was so injured. Her life was in no mortal danger but the doctor had said that she was in a coma. How long she would stay like that, he wasn't sure.
I sat by her bed, watching her as she lay there. There was no sign of her awaking up now...it almost seemed futile that she would ever wake up.
"Goshi, here."
Kento handed me a bottle of water, which I took and didn't open. When was (Y/n) going to wake up again? I couldn't imagine a life without her.
I heard sobbing behind me. It sounded like Yuuta. Of course he'd be sad. I mean, it was his own sister. Why wasn't I crying? Was it just too painful that I barely had enough tears to fill the hole in my heart?
"She'll wake up soon," Kento exclaimed although he sounded unsure.
I really hoped that that was the case, that she'd actually wake up soon...*sigh* I stood up and left the room. There was no point crying about this. (Y/n) probably wouldn't want that...
(Y/n)'s POV
~5 years later~
I slowly opened my eyes. Where...? What happened? Why was I in a hospital? I looked around, only to see Ryuji staring at me with wide eyes. He looked older than what I last remembered.
"Ryuji..."
"You're awake," he finally exclaimed.
"Why do you look like that?"
"Nevermind that. What's the last thing you remember?" he asked, almost eager to find out my answer.
"I think...we went to some kind of resort. Everything after that's a little fuzzy."
"Oh..."
He got out his phone and made a call. I was still trying to process what was going on. A few minutes later, everyone else rushed inside.
"Why are you all looking at me like that?"
"(Y/n)!"
Yuuta immediately pulled me into a tight hug, almost choking me in the process.
"Guys, what's going on?"
"You...were in a coma for five years," Kento replied.
"...I guess that's why you all look older."
~Some time later~
I was alone in the room. Everyone had left a while ago, having to return to work. I was a little upset to see them go so soon but I had no right to keep them here.
A sudden knock on the door startled me. Goshi came in and quietly closed the door after. He stood still, looking away as if there was something wrong.
"What is it?"
"I um..."
"You...?"
"I'm sorry."
He looked guilty as another girl stepped into the room. She seemed oblivious to the tension that had risen.
"Hello, nice to meet you. Goshi's told me a lot about you. I'm Akiko," she said with a gentle smile.
"She's my current girlfriend," Goshi added, it was almost a whisper.
I could feel my heart breaking. Was he serious about this? I couldn't help but clench my fists as she happily told me about their plans to get married in the future.
I had to force myself to show interest. How could he do this to me? I thought he loved me... As I looked up, he only looked away before going outside, making Akiko follow him.
The tears finally fell as soon as I realised that this wasn't a joke.
