Chapter 22
<Stiles' POV>
Light bursts into my eyes and someone's hands leave my chest. Sighs emerge from everyone's mouths around me as they kneel at my side. Lydia's hand is locked with mine in a tight unmentioned embrace. Allison seems to be the one that has her hands on my chest. Must of been pumping my heart. "You know I just fainted right? I wasn't like dead," I say smirking at Ali.
"That's not funny, we thought we lost you," she says holding back a smile that eventually shines through.
"It's over," Scott says smirking, "and you're okay," he say with an even bigger smile.
"You know what I could really go for?" Lydia asks smirking to herself. We all turn our glances at her. Her eyes open slowly. "Burger King," she says sighing. My stomach growls in agreement.
"Well I guess that's our answer, we just have to give the box to Deaton," Isaac reminds us. We all stand up at the same time. Allison's hands are locked with Scott's. How those two stay together is beyond my train of thought. Throughout everything they always stick together.
As we walk out of the school finally free Lydia, who is leading the group stops in her tracks and gasps. I run up behind her. Aiden has blood splurging from his mouth as he lies, barely alive in Ethan's arms with Chris and Derek hovering over them. Aiden. He's dead. There is no way he'll heal from this. The worst part is this is my fault.
In a split second Lydia has turned around and landed in my embrace. I wrap my arms around her fragile form so my hand is entangled in her long hair and my other hand clasps the small of her back. She sons silently into my shoulder. Soon everyone else sees what has happened. Allison tucks her head in Scott's shoulder.
<Allison's POV>
Is this how everyone else felt when I died? Is this deep ache in my heart natural? I turn around slowly and Scott immediately welcomes my body to his. My head buries itself in his shoulder blade as I clutch his back. How did they deal with this feeling? "Scott," I mutter under my breath into his shoulder. He doesn't say anything, just stand there holding me while letting out hard breaths. "Scott!" I repeat a little louder. He looks down at me alarmed and sees the tears forming in my eyes.
"Allison..." he says, trailing off at the end of my name. I sniffle a bit.
"I- I wann-na be strong, Scott, but I- I don't know how... is this how you felt?" I ask with my crying becoming stronger. I don't know whether I'm crying for Aiden or for me or for Scott, or Lydia, or Stiles, Isaac, my father. I don't know who to cry for. Scott places a hand on my cheek and tucks my head back into his chest with grace.
"You don't have to be strong Allison, not all the time," he whispers.
Stiles stumbles back to is with Lydia leaning into his chest. He looks to Scott. With a shaky voice he asks, "what do we do, what do I do? This is my fault isn't it?" Scott looks to him shocked.
"Stiles..." I figure now is a good time to lead Lydia and I away. I look up and Stiles and pull Lydia off of him and with me. She quickly adjusts to my touch.
"I wanna see him Ali, he isn't dead yet, I can tell," Lydia pleads. I nod and rush her down there. Aiden has his breath hitching in his throat. When he sees Lydia he smiles.
"Hi... Lydia," he stutters with blood making him cough between words.
"I wanted to thank you, for saving Stiles and I from the Darach that day, so thank you Aiden," she whispers crying. I don't recall that event. She must of never told me. Aiden forces a smile.
"You, sh-should b-be with him... he's a good g-guy, he loves you Lydia," Aiden says. That was his last word. Lydia. Ethan leans over his brother and lets all of his emotions out. Tears rain down on Aiden's body. My father comes around to Lydia and I. He strong arms wrap around the two of us and we stand up so he can hold is in his embrace. I guess in a way Lydia has always been like his second daughter. Especially considering Lydia doesn't really have a father. Derek walks away with Isaac trailing behind him.
"Chris, we'll be back, I want to bring the box to Deaton," Derek explains before leaving with the only remaining member of his pack. Even though in total honesty Derek and Isaac both have joined Scott's pack.
<Scott's POV>
"Stiles..." I mumble while Allison takes Lydia away.
"Scott help me... first I hurt you, then I capture Lydia, next Allison, now Aiden," Stiles pauses for a moment as if he needs to breathe, "I can't take it." I take Stiles' hand.
"You know it wasn't your fault, okay? You know that, and I'm here, I'm here for you Stiles," I explain before Stiles pulls me into a big and I hear him cry a little in my shoulder. I repeat the same actions on his shoulder. We are going to get through this. I know we can. Eventually Ethan takes Aiden's body and claims he is bringing it to the woods to bury him. As he does this, we all squeeze into Stiles' jeep while Chris drives. Allison and I share the front seat. She sits in my lap, barely weighing anything, and holds my hand carefully. I bring my lips to her cheek and kiss it softly.
She looks at me with a gentle look. "Why did you do that?"
I smile a little before whispering in hear ear, only audible for her hearing, "because I love you."
<Derek's POV>
Just after I hand the box to Deaton smoke erupts throughout the room and the door slams open, putting a hole in the wall. I pull Isaac down with me and hope Deaton can fend for himself. Gunshots begin to go off but I only hear them make contact with metal or wood, perhaps glass. A the smoke clears the room an unfamiliar figure emerges from the little remaining smoke.
She has dark hair and is carrying a gun. A gruesome smile stretches across her face. She mocks a face of pity making my blood run cold and tempts me to pull Isaac behind me. "What's wrong? Your uncle Peter never told you about me, well I can tell you that you are about to learn a lot about me. Or maybe your uncle can tell you now," she says closing. In a split second she pulls Peter out from behind a wall. He is thrown beside us carelessly with slash marks slowly healing across his chest.
"Hey Derek, Deaton, Isaac, we've got a problem... big problem."
