Chapter Eighteen
Axels POV (again)
"Rose! Do something!" I yell frantically.
"I don't know what to do, idiot!" Rose yells back, with equal panic.
"She told me she has Ambrosia in her backpack," Rose says, her voice drifting off.
I pull Nelli up by the arms, so Rose can rummage through the backpack.
"I found it!" She exclaims.
"Hurry Up!" I yell again.
"You'll be okay, Penelope," I whisper in her ear.
"Feed her the ambrosia!" I yell, just wanting to see the sea green eyes again.
Rose shoves the ambrosia into Nelli's mouth, and uses her jaw to chew it.
"Swallow!" She screams.
Penelope's eyes flutter open, making me gasp for the air I didn't know I want breathing.
"Careful, the gorgon has swords for finger nails," she says, her voice weak.
When Rose walks away, with her hand on her head, yelling about how lucky we where, I lean down and kiss Penelope.
"Thanks," she says, putting her hand on my cheek.
"We need to get her to the water!" I yell, remembering how her scratches healed after she went in the water.
"Yes. But how? She clearly should walk!" Rose says.
"I... I can carry her," I say, hoping my ears aren't red.
"Okay, but I am walking in front, to guard then," Rose says.
"Okay," I say.
I pick up Penelope, and carry her bride style, which makes her skin go pink, not red, because she is still pale.
"Let's go," I say , looking down at her.
Her sea green eyes, stare up into the now dark sky, and after looking back down and saying,
"Look! It's Heracles," motioning to the stars.
I stop to look up, and she is right, the constellation is there, watching down on us.
"He is watching over us," I say, looking into her eyes again.
They say eyes, are the window to the soul. I never thought that was true, until I met Penelope. When she is angry, her eyes are dark. Calm, a nice sea green. Now that I think about it, it's like the ocean itself.
"Come on you two!" I hear Rose yelling.
I pick up the pace to a jog, and Penelope gigglingly grabs my shoulder.
Rose rolls her eyes, when we catch up.
"You two disgust me," She mutters.
I look into the water, and Rose motions for me to set Nelli in. When she is in the water, she lays down.
"I'm going under, so don't be afraid when don't be afraid when I don't pop up in a few seconds," she says, pulling her head under.
Even though she is a daughter of Poseidon, it still makes me nervous when she doesn't come up for ten minutes.
"Help me set up camp," Rose says, starting to get out the tent we stole from Lotus Casino.
"There's two tents, I'm thinking Penelope and I in one, and you in the other," I nod.
We have the tents set up in minutes, and are putting blankets we stole off the beds from the casino into the tents, when Penelope emerges from the water, her wound all healed. I can't help feeling relief, pulling Nelli into a hug.
Hey guys! Hope you have enjoyed having so much from Axels POV. It's really fun to write under. New chapter also lol.
