Camp Crushes and Deja Vu
A girl named Lou Ellen led me through camp. She was the senior counselor of the Hecate cabin. She showed me around camp, and right now we were at the arts and crafts room. Apparently that was her favorite place. While she was droning on about the activities that they do there, I thought about how everything seemed so familiar. The buildings, the layout, even some of the people seemed like I should know them. Especially that Aphrodite girl. Something about her made me jittery. A good jittery, one I hadn't felt since, well, ever. I know Blair said not to get into her, but dang, she's the prettiest girl I've ever seen.
As we walked towards what looked like a forge, I saw kids playing volleyball in a sand pit. There were nymphs and satyrs playing against some of the campers. I saw the daughter of Aphrodite that gave me that really strong, weird deja vu feeling earlier at orientation. I stopped dead in my tracks. She was so beautiful. I'm not one that usually notices people, but she stood out of the crowd.
"Ryan, do you want to finish the tour so you're not lost tomorrow? " Lou Ellen asked me.
"Yeah, sorry."
"A little star struck, are we Ryan?" She said with a smirk. "That happens a lot. There are always guys fighting over those girls."
"Really?"
"Yeah, get a bunch of really competitive, ADHD guys and drop dead gorgeous girls, there's bound to be fights."
" Oh. Well that makes sense."
"You ready to see the rest of camp?"
"Yeah, thanks Lou."

Kayla's POV
As I walked back to my cabin from the official weekly orientation, my sisters were chattering about all of the hot actors, the gorgeous musicians, pretty much any boy they thought was hot. I was stuck on that new guy. Ryan, I think his name was. He had something about him that was extremely intriguing, something that was slightly familiar, like some sort of deja vu. I couldn't leave out the fact that he is overwhelmingly attractive, but still, that weird deja vu was really powerful. I have to have met him before, but where?
"Hey guys! Do y'all want to play volleyball with us?" One of the Hermes kids, Adam, I think his name was yelled at us from their cabin. Apparently, their cabin was just getting ready to go over to the sand pit. I immediately yelled a reply back.
"Yeah, we'll see you there. Let us get ready real quick."
"Ugh, Kayla!" Merideth moaned, "Why did you accept their offer??? We're no good at volleyball!"
"We need to get out and do something today. Might as well be volleyball with the Hermes kids."
"She makes a good point." Lacey, our cabin counselor, said. "I have been stuck with you guys doing makeovers all day. I want to do something active."
"Thanks, Lacey." I said. I really love her. Lacey has been here since she was ten and she's almost twenty four now. She has been here longer than almost anyone, besides the guys like Percy and Annabeth, who live in New Rome, but train kids here during the summer. We walked into the cabin to change into our shorts and old t-shirts, or in most cases, our bikinis.
"Ok everybody! Change into the clothes that you're going to play in! Hustle, ladies! We don't want to keep the boys waiting!" Lacey ordered with a wink. Dang, I love these girls. I feel like a part of the family, even though I just got here last week. And maybe, with their help, I'll have a boyfriend by the end of the summer. I don't know who yet though. That Hemes kid, Dyllan maybe. Or Ryan. Preferably Ryan. Hopefully Ryan.
Guess I have a camp crush, don't I? This summer should definitely be interesting.
I changed into my bikini, and ran outside with the rest of my sisters to meet the Hermes cabin for a match of beach volleyball.
