Chapter 7
Godt's POV
We all enjoyed the delicious dinner that P'Tae cooked for us. Don't look down on me. I know how to cook many kinds of dishes myself. Maybe tomorrow evening I can volunteer to be the cook.
I did not drink enough beer to get drunk. We were all to share one big room and anything that anyone of us did in drunken stupidity was going to be seen or even captured on video, by anyone who thought of doing so, not out of malice but to tease about it next day.
In the end we all enjoyed one bottle of beer each. Well, I had two, if you counted the one I had before dinner.
We all helped to clear the table and washed the pots and plates and utensils after dinner. As the saying went, many hands make light work, and so before we knew it we were all free to enjoy the rest of the night.
We all went to the porch to enjoy the fresh mountain air. Some of us sat on the window ledge and some on the steps. P'Tae had brought his guitar and we all sang along to the songs that he played on it.
We all got emotional when P'Tae played the opening chords to the theme song of Two Moons the Series. Our voices, especially Bas', would crack from time to time because of the deep emotions that welled up in our chests. By the time the song ended, there was a big lump in my throat and the others were wiping away tears.
We did another group hug like we did earlier when we first reached the cottage. When we broke apart, P'Tae announced with deep conviction, "We are all gonna be okay!"
"Let's play truth or dare!" Tee suggested, to lighten the mood.
"Yes!" said Bas, and went to fetch an empty beer bottle.
"Okay," said Tee, "the rule of the game is, after I spin the bottle, the person to whom the bottle ends up pointing can ask someone a question and he has to answer truthfully, but if he doesn't want to answer the question he has to do what the other person commands him to do."
"Let's do Dare only," said Bas, "it's so easy to lie and pretend that you're telling the truth."
Everyone was in agreement because Dare was more exciting than Truth or dare.
"The person who had to obey the command will be the next person to spin the bottle," Tee continued.
"Spin the bottle already, P'Tee!" Bas said impatiently.
Tee did so and everyone's eyes were on the bottle as it slowly stopped spinning and pointed at P'Kim.
P'Kim deliberated carefully and then said, "I want Tee to kiss P'Tae on the lips."
Both Tee and P'Tae said "No!" while moving their hands in scissor like motion to indicate a negative reaction.
"Okay, just on the cheek," P'Kim relented.
"No!" said Bas, "that's too lame! It has to be on the lips!"
"The lips it is then," P'Kim announced, going back to his original dare.
"Be careful, Bas," said P'Tae, "when it's my turn I might ask you to do something more serious."
"I'm game!" Bas declared fearlessly.
Seriously this kid, I thought. The problem was, I could get dragged into this revenge plan of P'Tae on him.
P'Tae winced and closed his eyes tightly as Tee slowly moved his face closer and closer to his. We all watched breathlessly. I was not even aware that I had been holding my breath until I started to feel woozy and then I found myself drawing a deep breath.
Just then everybody made a loud cheer. Tee had planted a kiss on P'Tae's lips.
P'Tae covered his mouth, looking down in utter embarrassment.
"Oh, come on, P'," said Tee, "why are you feeling so bad. It's not like this was the first time that we..."
Tee stopped himself, his eyes growing so wide that they looked like they would pop out of their sockets.
"Not the first time that you did what?" asked Bas. As usual this kid could not be held back from asking even the most sensitive question.
