Kaitos pov

I knocked nervously on my grandparents door. I hadn't exactly told them I was bi so I was nervous to come out about that and introduce kokichi at the same time but they'll definitely accept me. They're the kindest people in the world. Unless that was a lie too.

My gramma opened the door and immediately pulled me into a hug.

"oh kaito darling I'm so happy you're alive and well! What were you thinking entering a contest like that!" she said smacking me across the head.

"I'm sorry" I sighed. I can't believe I made them worry on perpose.

Grandma took a step back in shock "you've never apologised before especially after getting smacked. What have they done to you"

"was I that big of a jerk?"

Grandma sighed. "come on in love so we can talk about this"

It was then that she noticed kokichi "hello dear who are you?"

"I'm kokichi ouma kaitos boyfriend"

Her eyes widened "kaito has a boyfriend"

Kokichi nodded.

I was shaking in my boots. Is she going to regect me like I feared she would but surprisingly she smiled "your so cute! Come on in love so we can get properly aquented"

I sat at the kitchen table and explained everything.

"I can't believe that awful show brainwashed my own grandson" grandma scolded. She turned to kokichi with a warm smile "were you in the killing game to dear?"

"yes ma'am I was the ultimate chess player" kokichi said.

"ultimate chess player eh?" my grandpa chuckled. "I happen to be a great chess player myself. Care to show me your skill boy?"

"sure I love a good challange" kokichi smiled

"haha I love this kid!"

The two of them played a half hour game of chess before kokichi won.

"your quite good for a youngster" grandpa muttered.

"and your much better at chess than kaito" kokichi replied.

"tell me about it! All that boy does is run ahead without properly thinking things through." grandpa grumbled

"I've tried teaching him but nothing seems to get through"

"alright will you both stop roasting me already" I pleaded while they laughed at me. Grandma patted me on the shoulder.

"you should both stay the night. We have a spare bedroom you can stay in"

"that sounds great!" I jumped in excitement.

"wait dose that mean we have to sleep together?" kokichi asked looking worried.

"what's wrong babe? We slept together last night"

"yes but our room has a bathroom so we don't have to change together"

"what's the problem? We're both boys after all"

"Well the truth is I'm not really a boy!"

I stared at him highly confused.

"Well I am a boy but not biologically. I got my sex change when I was 13. You probably hate me now don't you?" he teared up slightly

"what? Baby no! I don't care whether you're a boy, girl helicopter! I'll still love you no matter what!"

Kokichi takle hugged me "thank you kaito I'm so relieved"

Grandma smile at us and gently took Kokichis hand. "come along love I'll help you pick out some pijamas"

"okay thank you ma'am" kokichi followed her while my grandpa patted me on the back.

"how you taking the news kid?" he asked.

I sighed "grandpa am I a bad boyfriend for not noticing my boyfriend was trans?"

Grandpa laughed "kid it doesn't matter how old you get there's always going to be something you don't know about your partner but as long as you love them with all your heart I don't think it matters"

I grinned. I love my grandparents. Im so glad that at least something stayed just as I remember it.
