8-22 R.I.P To My Brother
I know the title is misleading, but this chapter is about this specific date is something only few friends of mine on wattpad know about.
Be respectful about me sharing this story. There is not many people who are able to do this and not cry talking about it.
August 22, will mark 12 years since I lost my big brother. I will call A, which is the beginning letter of his first name. A was 18 years old when he got sick. In May of 2012 he graduated High School, during that summer it was very humid and it became hard for him to stuff, as fluid took over his hands and legs.
A schedule to have surgery in July, note at this time I didn't know anything about health issues he had at the time. He was only meant to spend few weeks in the hospital after heart surgery to have a pacemaker put in. During that time my other brother and I who were 15 and 12. We lived with our grandmother on our mom's side who lived five minutes from the school we'd be attending in August.
My brothers and I grew up doing 4H, which for us was showing steers at the fair. Unfortunately A wasn't able to finish his last 4H summer with us. L (my other brother) and I would go visit out brother in the hospital every couple days with our grandmother, aunts and uncles.
Now to the day of why this is in honor of my brother. L and I had been in school for maybe a week when this happened. I was just starting volleyball practice on this day, not important, but it's a little background into what leads up to this. So i got back to school after getting a physical done to be at volleyball practice. I went to class for roughly a few minutes before I was told I needed to go see A.
L and I weren't told of his condition, just that we were leaving and being picked up by our relatives. At the hospital L and I walked towards our parents who were staying with A this whole time. A passed away from a heart condition, I am unable to pronounce the name of the condition. A wasn't able to be revived after so many tries.
I don't blame anyone for his passing, other than myself.
A was planning to head to college and move to Wyoming to be a DNR. He wasn't able to live out that dream, my parents, L, and I took a trip to Wyoming for Labor Day in honor of A.
Every year since that day, my family does a vacation or a family activity to celebrate his life.
A memory will live on through L, our parents, family, and friends who knew him.
Rest in peace. A.
Love, your sis.
