And I truly believe it.

If a person is beaten or even shot with a gun, it can be healed in a few months.

But the wounds caused by words are unbearable, they are really hard to heal or sometimes unhealable.  

If we break a mirror it can never be fixed the same it was before. Same as the heart, once broken it can never be fixed as the same it was before.

WORDS have so much power. 
You can control people with your beautiful words.
And you can also hurt people with your hurtful words.

Let me describe a story to make it more clear.
(This story was told by my grandmother and I have somewhat added a little of my own)

Once upon a time, there was a great teacher known for this teaching and many things. One day he decided to test his students. He called all his students and told them to bring the most precious thing on earth and the worst thing on earth the following week and explain. 

All the students went in search of things they brought many valuable things saying they are beautiful and precious. And they brought damaged things saying they are useless or worthless.

But the teacher was not still satisfied, then there came the last boy, he drew a picture of a mouth.

Interestingly the teacher asked why has he brought this, to which the boy replied," Sir, the most precious thing, is our mouth ( tongue ) we can make beautiful words and make everyone around us happy by using it.

The teacher was very happy with the answer and asked the next question, "Where is the worst thing?"

The boy again showed the mouth, "Sir, the mouth ( tongue ) is the answer. We can hurt anyone with our simple words. It is indeed a sin, at times we can't control it."

The teacher was really impressed by the answer. And gave him the title " the best student".

Hence, please think before you speak. The words that you might speak may mean nothing to you but they can hurt another soul.
