Lana's Pov
It was 8 am on a Monday and Lana was up and ready for work, she took her job pretty seriously and she is never late unless there was a perfectly good explanation.

Lana got to her office at exactly 8:45 am sharp and of course, she gets to work immediately, she has a business development team and she ran a tight ship and one of her team members happens to be her best friend Diane Marie.

Diane and Lana are more like sisters; they grew up together went to high school together but Lana being a bookworm got into college earlier than Diane and a more prestigious college at that.

Lana was sad that her best friend didn't attend the same college with her as they both wanted but she was driven and ambitious and she still is. Lana got Diane the job even though she wasn't qualified regarding her educational background but she knew Diane could do it.

Diane happens to be also very good at her job too, she is smart and witty, and as a business developer that's exact qualities, you need.

A meeting with the CEO of Regal alliance popped up, it was said to be an emergency meeting and Lana being the General manager she had to be there pronto, Lana stopped everything she was doing and headed for the conference room.

The CEO announced that they received a proposal from "Efficacy Media", everyone started murmuring in excitement. Efficacy media is only the most popular and prestigious media company in the entire city.

They tendered a proposal to partner with them in a fundraiser for special children, it's a rumor that the CEO is a real humanitarian but no one knows him, he's a reserved man, only a few people know what he looks like.

Mr. Leon Briggs the CEO of Regal alliance, Lana's boss appointed Lana to handle the account, and of course, it's in able hands, without hesitation, Lana contacted Efficacy media to confirm that their proposal was well received and accepted.

The following day, Efficacy media sends a representative to Regal alliance to begin the fundraiser account right away and is no other but Natalia Vega, who happens to be the personal assistant to the CEO of Efficacy Media.

Natalia is a tall, pale-skinned lady with short blonde hair and an oblong face. She is no doubt very attractive.

Lana and Natalia finally met and they hit it off quite splendidly, they got along, and as two smart women; they brainstormed to conduct the fundraiser and it was going according to plan. Natalia was instructed by her boss not to give details about him to anyone at Regal Alliance and Natalia knowing how secretive her boss can be she keeps to it.

There was a rumor that the CEO of efficacy media is very close to his assistant, Natalia; she handles his finances and almost everything that goes on in the company, she knows him better than anyone.

Lana sat on the swivel chair in her office with her head laid back, swaying from side to side in exhaustion, the fundraising account is wearing her out but as a workaholic and perfectionist that she is, she doesn't stop till she's done but aside works she was thinking about Steve.

He hasn't reached out to her since their date night and she couldn't complain either, it's not like they're an item or something but she thought they have something interesting going on.

On the other hand, she is a busy woman and she takes pride in her profession, she will never do the chasing, so she distracts her mind with work, and they're sure were a whole lot of distractions to deal with.

Diane walks into her office with the report of the company's client database, more distraction of course but her priority was getting the fundraiser ready for the appointed date that was even yet to be set but had to be in a few days.

There was still a whole lot to attend to, so she gave Diane the job to handle the client's database report and have them emailed to her, and then she can take a look at them later, Diane set on it right away.

An hour later, Natalia came with good news, almost everything is set for the fundraiser, Lana feels relieved, all her effort yielded results and nothing makes Lana happier, Natalia suggested that they went out for lunch and Lana didn't think it was such a bad idea.

They both set out to a diner nearby, they ordered some junk food and got to talking, all that was remaining was just a venue, the sponsors are ready and waiting for the date and venue to be communicated to them.

Lana and Natalia decided to go for the grand coliseum as the venue and it was a perfect choice.

Lana looked at Natalia, trying to look for ways to break the ice, she tried making small talk with her.

"so your boss... I learned he's a reserved and private person, is there a story behind that, or is just how he is? No one has an idea of what he looks like either... is he going to be present at the fundraiser?"

Natalia suddenly gulped the rest of her drink and replied vaguely.

"He is what he is, he doesn't like the spotlight."

It doesn't answer Lana's question, she got the drift that Natalia doesn't want to discuss it, so she dropped the conversation.

Their relationship should be strictly professional anyway so she changed the topic, "Natalia, we should go down to the coliseum and book the ballroom... set a date, don't you think"

"Brilliant idea!" Natalia replies in relief as she was a bit uncomfortable with the previous topic.

They got to the coliseum and they booked the ballroom for Friday night which was less than 72 hours away.

Everything was set for the fundraiser, Mr. Briggs is impressed with Lana's work and as usual, she never disappoints.

The fundraiser is more like a ballroom party but with special guests and important people, most famous and high-status people coming together to support a good cause; helping the needy.

Efficacy Media spearheading the event with a donation of 1million dollars, the fundraiser is a call to others to help further his noble gesture and Regal Alliance is more than proud to be a partner and party to such event as the publicity alone is enough payment.
