Ezra
"E! E!"
I flung right into action.
"What?!" I panicked.
Cora and Katie just stared at me.
"Wake up." Katie laughed.
"Jerks." I crossed my arms.
"We're going in the water."
I nodded and said I'll meet them in. I stood up and stretched my sleeping body. With a yawn I threw my hat and sunglasses in my bag and immediately I was blinded by the stupid sun.
I walked to the water's edge when I noticed a sleeping lifeguard. And to my amusement, it was Chris' lifeguard friend um..... Jay I think it was. Quietly I went up the the stand and casually stood by it. Without being seen I reached to grab the arm that was holding the guys head upright . I knocked it down and ran into the water. I turned around to see what damage I had caused. The guy was shaken and half asleep. I smiled in triumph.
When I caught up to the girls I kept the whole lifeguard thing to myself. We dove under waves and body surfed. I was having a great time until we were back at our towels when Katie spoke up.
"So did you guys here there was a party tonight?"
I groaned in annoyance. Cora slapped my leg. I slapped her back and stuck out my tongue. She rolled her eyes and went back in her phone.
"Continue." She told Katie.
I groaned again and put my headphones in. Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die! from Panic! At The Disco played. I mouthed the words to Casual Affair when something nudged me. Disappointed, I unplugged my headphones and entered the real world.
"What?"
"Your coming to the party with us." Cora stated.
I sighed, got up, and began walking away.
"Where you going?" Katie called.
"Not to the party that's for sure." I called back.
Praising Neptune that I grabbed my phone I put my earbuds back in and continued to listen to Casual Affair. I walked for another three songs until I decided to turn back around.
Nicotine was playing when I arrived back at the towels. I paused my song and looked my friends dead in the eye. I'm gonna hate myself for this.
"One party."
Katie screamed and I shrunk down so no one noticed me. Cora tried to calm her down, but her efforts failed her terribly.
"I tried." She told me.
"It's okay." I laughed patting her in the back.
Two hours passed when my stomach began speaking to me. I stood up and asked the girls if they were hungry. Together, we walked the beach to Salts snack stand. We ordered and ate quickly. We were starving.
We stayed in the beach for like another three hours when we decided to call it a day and get ready for the party.
I quickly unlocked my compartment, grabbed my stuff, and jumped into Katie's car. Exhaustion washed over me as I fell asleep during the ride. When the car jolted to a stop I jolted awake.
"We're here." Cora said.
"Yeah yeah." I replied.
Going a slow pace I climbed out of the car and grabbed my stuff. Taking my time to Katie's front door Cora grabbed my arm and dragged me into the house. I waved to Katie's mom as I was pulled up the stairs.
In Katie's room I collapsed onto her bed and only to be attacked by her dog Murphy. I played around with the begeal.
"You smell Ryder don't you boy!" I laughed.
Back at my place I got my own pup, Ryder. He's a year old husky. He's got beautiful blue eyes and soft grey and white fur.
I looked over to where the girls are. It's only 4:00 and they are already getting ready for an 9:00 party. I sighed and ran my hand through my hair. I looked at Murphy.
"They're crazy aren't they."
He let out a bark of agreement. I scratched his ears.
"Good boy"
I sat up and walked over, taking a seat next to Cora.
"What about you E?"
"What?" I asked realizing that I'm now in this conversation.
"What are you going to wear?"
I blew up a strand of fallen hair and I stood up.
"This." I smiled.
Katie rolled her eyes.
"Fine, but no skateboard."
I sighed.
"Deal."
An evil smirk showed on that girls lips.
"And-"
"No, no, no." I crossed my arms.
Cora, now realizing what was going on began to laugh.
"My friends hate me." I poured.
"No we don't. We're just trying to help you." Katie laughed.
"With what?" I complained.
"With boys."
Cora and I let out a groan.
"I want to throw up." Cora laughed.
"Preach girl! Preach!" I sang.
"Ugh, friends." Katie started.
"Can't survive without them." We said in unison.
