Ezra
I woke up to moans and groans. Hangover day! I laughed as I sprung out of the couch bed. I changed into my suit and grabbed my board. I found a paper and pen. Scribbling some words on it I was out and off to the beach.
I looked down at the clock on my phone when I stepped out of the house. 6:15. I sighed at my early morning habits. I dropped the board in my hands to the ground and rode to the beach.
I arrived and opened my compartment with a quicker pace. I seriously need to clear my head. Taking off my shoes I grabbed my phone, headphones, and arm band. Slipping my phone into the band, I snapped in my headphones, and strapped it to my arm. Taking my shoes off I walked onto the sand.
Pressing play, Panic! At The Disco filled my ears. I couldn't help but smile as Mercenary found its way to my headphones. I pumped my fist into the air as I took off. I figured that I could get in like four mile before the beach began to fill. After all it is only the second more like first day of summer vacation.
24 songs later I'm walking the boardwalk now swaying to Ballad Of Mona Lisa. It's one of my favorite songs by them. As the music continues to play I arrive at my beach side locker and punched in the code. I took off my sneakers and threw them in as I grabbed my bag. Pulling out my sunglasses I shut the locker closed and showed the badge checker my yearly badge and pranced onto the now blazing sand.
Finding the right stop I dropped my bag down and pulled out my towel. I tried to lay it down but the wind thought other, and I winded up making a complete idiot of myself. Finally a nice person offered to help me and I gladly took their kind gesture. Once my towel was secure on the ground I thanked the kind person and we went our separate ways.
The morning went by really quick. Getting bored of just the music I brought out my book, The False Prince by Jennifer A. Nielsen. I'm rereading it again because it is such an amazing series. I also took out The Ranger's Apprentice The Ruins Of Gorlan by John Flanagan also one my favorites which is going to be turned into a movie which I'm freaking out for.
One could say that I'm a book nerd if you get to know, which people don't usually like to do. I like to say that I'm socially awkward. I'm not good with people, in fact I dislike or more like hate people in general. I've never been good with them and they just annoy me with how oblivious some are. How stupid can one person get?! Apparently very stupid!
I turned the page, eager to find out what happens to Sage, even though I've already read the book countless times before. Before I could read the first word sand comes flying at me.
"What the hell?!" Was all I could say as I threw my book down brushing the sand out of my eyes.
"Sorry!" An all too familiar voice called.
I wiped the sand out of my eyes only to see that idiot lifeguard Jay, the drunk who asked me out at the party last night.
"Oh, hey." He smirked.
I sighed in disgust.
"So did you think about my offer?" He asked.
I stopped in my tracks.
"Wait, you were serious?" I laughed.
"Dead serious."
My smile faded. Turns out he wasn't as drunk as I thought he was.
"I don't know." I answered. "I'll have to review this whole thing with my friends."
Nice save. Once again Jay shrugged at my answer.
"K, and here's my number if want to get ahold of me."
He tore a piece of paper from the clipboard he had in his hands and I have him a pen. Shortly afterwards he handed me a thin slip with numbers sprawled in an orderly fashion.
He sent me a wink and then walked back to the lifeguard stand.
I looked down at the small piece of paper in my hands.
"This is a bad idea Ezra."
