Prologue
Fear.
That was all ten year old Alexander Merlin Fate could feel. Along with the burning feeling in his legs from running forever and ever without stopping.
He didn't know how he could do all that as a ten year old, and not feel tired, or stop even once. But he supposed that adrenaline could do that to you.
He was more commonly known as Alex by his friends, or Merlie and Ally by his two year old sister who couldn't pronounce his name quite right yet. He was a small boy, since young with hazel hair and bright green eyes with blue flecks.
He was bright as a child, teaching himself many things. Alex always saw things that he didn't understand, but every time he pointed it out, everyone thought he was making things up for attention, or hallucinating. They pointed out his ADHD and dyslexia, as if that had to do with anything.
No one believed him.
Except for his mom. His loving caring mother who raised him, who didn't deserve all of this. When he explained what he saw to his mother, she had seemed so frightened, but didn't call him out for lying.
Instead she feared for him. But he didn't know why back then, but now he did.
It all started when a wild animal attacked his house. To him, it looked a lot more like a demonic beast, with black fur, sharp canines and dog-like features, but as big as a truck with glowing red eyes.
The beast attacked the house, clawing at his mother and step-father, killing them instantly, before turning to Alex to finish the job, when some purple like mist attacked it.
Alex didn't know what to do. Instead, he looked towards his parents, and into the scared eyes of his little sister. Somehow, out of pure luck, he managed to get his sister out of the wreckage that was their house.
The next day, CPS turned up to investigate, along with multiple police officers. Alex was interrogated about what happened, if he saw anyone. In the end, it was concluded that a wild animal broke into the home for food, and killed the parents by accident.
No one questioned why only the children were alive. No one questioned why the neighbors didn't even hear or see anything. It was like it was all being covered up.
And maybe it was.
CPS turned Alex and little Sarah into foster care, and one day when a family came to visit, that was the last he saw of Sarah.
The came the day he was adopted. There was a nice couple who were looking for an older child to raise. The Goode family.
They were very nice to him, always helping him, being there when he needed it. He even managed to go to a nice school where he made friends.
It was almost like the incident with his parents never happened.
Then came the guy with the goat legs.
Alex was attacked one day in school by a snake women, with twin serpent trunks instead of legs and pronounced the letter S weirdly.
The goat guy came in with a reed pipe and started to play on it.
Alex had no idea what good a reed pipe would do, and was planning on sacrificing the goat boy to the snake women so he could escape.
Then suddenly, vines shot out of the ground, wrapping around the snake women, choking her and the goat boy turned to him.
Now, Alex didn't want to be strangled by vines so he decided that it was a good idea to run.
The goat boy managed to catch up to him in the end, even managing to get ahead of Alex.
No one turned around and pointed at goat boy. No one questioned why he had goat legs. No one even spared them a glance as they ran through the school grounds.
Eventually, the goat boy managed to explain everything that happened. He was a Satyr named Aspen and Greek Mythology was all real. Alex was a demigod and the thing that attacked him was a dracaena.
Now here, Alex did the logical thing and punched the goat boy, now redubbed Aspen, and ran.
That was a bad idea.
But in the end it turned out alright and nobody's bones were broken, just a few scrapes and bruises, because wow, could Aspen hit hard.
Aspen explained that because he was a demigod, and mind you that this was after they fought it out on school grounds and Aspen won, and that because he had a scent and now knew about being a demigod, monsters would be after him.
Alex calmed down in the end, managing to process all the words. Then he started to worry. What about his foster parents? Would they get hurt too? He would never be able to forgive himself if he lost another set of parents.
Aspen had reassured that his parents would be safe because Alex didn't have a very strong scent that didn't reassure Alex in any way whatsoever.
So here he was now, a ten year old running from whatever beast was chasing him along with his new friend Aspen. Adrenaline was the only thing keeping him going.
Aspen claimed that they were actually close to the protective borders of the camp, but Alex wasn't so sure. It felt like he had been running for hours without end. But that could be because of his ADHD.
Eventually, they did make it into camp. Not unscathed, but alive, exhausted and ready for a two day nap.
The Camp director was a pudgy man with a leopard print shirt, also known as Mr. D, or the god Dionysus.
He didn't look much like a god.
The camp's activity director was a kind centuries old centaur named Chiron, the trainer of heroes and whatnot.
Chiron sent a boy, Thomas, son of Demeter to show him the camp and eventually lead him to Cabin 11, or the Hermes cabin.
Because Alex hadn't been claimed yet, he had to stay at the Hermes Cabin, the only cabin that would accept him because Hermes was the god of travelers or something.
Thomas told him not to hope to much though. Apparently he spent 5 years in the Hermes Cabin before Demeter bothered to claim him. And some are never claimed at all.
He was greeted by a guy named Travis Stoll and his brother, Connor. Apparently, they took over the cabin after a guy named Luke Castellan went all batshit crazy and went to help Kronos rise.
He was given a small pocket of space to live and sleep in, and Alex made sure to keep his stuff closely to himself. One prominent piece of information he actually remembered about Hermes was that he was also the god of thieves.
The Hermes kids looked pretty disappointed.
In the end he decided to stay at camp full time to keep his foster parents safe. He kept contact with them for a while, until one day, it was like they didn't remember him.
They questioned who he was and threatened to call the police as well. They didn't die, they just forgot about him.
It didn't make it hurt less.
One day at camp, there suddenly was a symbol above his head. Two torches crossed together like an X, purple mist swirling around him. And thus, he was claimed.
Alex still stayed in the Hermes cabin. There was no cabin for Hecate children.
But Alex had to deal with the envious looks from his fellow cabinmates, jealous he had been claimed.
Then Percy Jackson landed into camp with a giant glowing magic bus.
Things went even more crazy after that, involving things that Alex didn't really want to explain.
He met his brother Alabaster C. Torrington once, who managed to teach Alex things, but then tried to convince Alex to join Kronos resulting in Alex biting his hand. (Alabaster's hand, not his own. Who do you think he is?)
Eventually, he just settled in on life, accepting that things would never be the same, but would get better for him.
Darn, why did he tempt the Fates.

So, this is my first book that I'm actually gonna publish. I have no plot, and I'm just gonna see where this takes me. I just watched X-Men one day, and I was like, sure, why not. I tried to find good crossover fics for inspiration, but the crossover fanbase is small as heck and I couldn't find any good ones.
The ones I did find, however, were all unfinished works that were last updated like, 5 years ago or something like that.
So I thought, "Two groups of super powered teenagers with more power than they should handle who have also both gone through traumatic experiences, they shouldn't have experienced with a tired man in a wheel chair trying to teach them. Why not."
This is based on the reversed timelines on the X-Men because I did watch the other movies, just wanna see how they do as teenagers together. You know, stuff.
Wow is this a lot in the author's note, and just to say, this is a summary of Alex before it happens, and from here on out, it should be in first point of view.

P.S. I couldn't come up with a good name and I thought, Merlin, magic guy, and by the way, Merlin film on Netflix is amazing, and why not, Merlin good name. Also, I won't curse if not absolutely necessary and no, Alex in here has no relation whatsoever to Alex in Magnus Chase series. Also, I accidentally spelled god as dog and now I'm laughing because I'm like, am I Percy now?
