After that eventful moment that I'd rather not think about for the rest of my life, I decided to investigate the settings of the school a bit.

I was unfamiliar with this new place, and as Lupa always said, an unprepared demigod is a dead demigod. I would need to memorize the blueprint of this building, so I could make escape plans in case anything happened, or if I just needed a handy way to leave this place.

I also needed to investigate that portal that the mutants were talking about.

Clearly, this portal had something to do with why I was here in the first place, as it sent Kurt to my world, and took me back to his. If I could get my hands on it, I might be able to send myself back.

There were other things as well, like leaving the portal unchecked could mean that people from this world could randomly pop up in my world, which would cause many problems for us. There was a layer of mist making the mortals believe that powers didn't exist, so if mutants appeared and started using their powers, they could give the demigods away.

As I walked down the halls, pondering my life like the philosophical piece of shit I am, I had entered a private lab area that clearly said "Do not enter".

So of course I entered.

There were many pieces of machinery, and lab equipment all over the place. Careful not to touch anything, I allowed my gut to pull me in the right direction. This was probably where the portal was kept.

At the end of the lab, I finally saw the portal in all its peace destroying glory.

It didn't look like much, granted you shouldn't judge anything based on looks, but it honestly looked like a plain old boring piece of machinery, and nothing more.

It was powered off, and nothing I did made it turn on. Dejectedly, I made my way back out.

So, uh, can you believe its been almost a year? I've had a busy life so far, moving schools and all, and sooo much homework. I haven't found the time or motivation to update any of fics, and tbh, who even uses wattpad as much anymore? Not me, if I didn't touch wattpad in over 6 months. I've always wanted to update, but lack of motivation and time has stopped me, but I do want to publish a bit more so, here's the draft I haven't finished. I'll update/add more to this chapter when I have the time, but definitely not anytime soon, I just didn't want to leave it like this without updating for a year. :/
