Eugene POV

I made it to the training room and Rapunzel was pacing back and forth. I waited in the doorway for a few seconds just watching the way she moved. She was clearly nervous but walked with purpose. She was deep in her thoughts and was clearly planning out as much as she could. She looked beautiful. 

I heard Hiccup coming up behind me so I went inside. I hoped he hadn't caught me staring because that would've been a little hard to explain. Astrid ignored Hiccup when she walked in and sat by herself on a bench. Elsa was the last to arrive, barely making it before our pre-determined start time. 

"Hey, guys! Everyone over here, we're going to talk before we start." Punzie called us all over. 

"What's up Blondie?" I noticed her blush slightly at the nickname before going into leader mode. 

"I know that I'm the leader but I really want to focus on us working together as equals. Just because I am technically in charge doesn't mean I don't want your guys' input. That being said, I do have a plan for today. We're going to start with stretching." She looked at all of us waiting for input. She led us in a few stretches, trying to use silence as an advantage. The tension in the room was obvious. Astrid was clearly unhappy with Hiccup and vice versa while Elsa seemed jealous of Punzie's position of power. Rapunzel also seemed to be avoiding eye-contact with me but I wasn't overly sure what I had done to her. 

After the stretches, Rapunzel started going through her schedule for the session when Elsa interrupted her.

"Can I make a suggestion? Start with the laps as a warm-up than go into the team building activities. Do the obstacle course last as you'll have more motivation." Rapunzel listened to Elsa's suggestions. It was clear she wanted to use Elsa's ideas but she had her own. She had been doing this as long if not longer than Elsa. 

"We will start with laps but then the obstacle course." Rapunzel compromised.

"3 laps?" Elsa asked as she started running. Rapunzel mumbled a yes as everyone else started running. I waited a moment to see if Punzie was okay but she didn't say anything to me so I just chased after the others. After the laps, we went right into the obstacle course. She pushed us hard and then told us to walk a lap after we finished. 

Punzie gave us a 10-minute break to cool off and I took the time to talk to Elsa. 

"You okay? You're being kinda crappy." She rolled her eyes at me. "Like that! What's going on with you?" 

"Nothing's going on with me." She scoffed. "Maybe you should stop ogling our team leader." 

"I'm not 'ogling' anything," I assured her. "But Punzie's having a hard enough time leading this team. We should be doing everything we can to make it easier for her." 

"If she can't handle being a real leader than she shouldn't be the leader." Elsa pushed past me and something felt off. Even when Elsa would get mad at me or Anna, she wouldn't be blatantly disrespectful. Silent treatment maybe or locking herself in her room but this seemed to be a different level and she wasn't even mad. 

I went over to Punzie to see how things were going but she walked away from me to talk to Astrid. 

"Did I do something?" I asked Hiccup who was sitting by himself. He looked up and glanced at Rapunzel. 

"Probably." He shrugged and I ruffled his hair.

"Thanks, bud." I scoffed. 

"Okay, guys! Let's do some team-building activities." 

"It's going to take more than a few silly games to make us a team." Elsa stormed out of the gym without warning and we all just watched her go away. Rapunzel slid to the floor, clearly feeling discouraged. 

"I think we're done for the day." I dismissed Hiccup and Astrid before sitting on the floor next to Rapunzel. "Hey, Goldie, how are you?" 

"Leave me alone." She sniffled and I wrapped an arm around her shoulders.

"I'm not going anywhere." She looked up and I was suddenly aware of how close we were. She leaned in and I didn't back away. I closed the distance and kissed Rapunzel, forgetting about everything else. 

When the realization set in about what we had done, we both pulled apart. She looked mortified. Rapunzel ran out of the room, leaving me to face the fact that I had just cheated on my girlfriend.
