Smelly Flesh Man:

I hate you

Three days. Three whole days he went without a peep from Dabi and then this. Izuku is going to slam his head into a wall. He's in class and while he's sitting there bored out of his mind, he gets a text from the person who has been the cause for his lack of sleep.

Who can blame him for worrying about Dabi? The last time he saw him he'd run off looking more pissed than Izuku has ever seen him and he wasn't answering any of his texts, not even the ones telling him what to do with Hawks yesterday. So here he is, on his second day of school hiding a phone under his desk as he tries to subtly reply to Dabi.

Me:
What did I do?

Smelly Flesh Man:
You forced me to spend a day with a hero

Me:
Take it as punishment for not REPLYING TO MY TEXTS AND MAKING ME WORRY

Smelly Flesh Man:
You little-

Me:
You just cut yourself off on text
That's a little sad

Smelly Flesh Man:
Want to die?

Me:
Not really, no
You have any info on Rei Todoroki and Harmony?

Smelly Flesh Man:
Yeah
I'll show you later

Me:
Oh so now you're not avoiding me?

Smelly Flesh Man:
Never was

Me:
Cap

Smelly Flesh Man:
Not cap

Me:
Ya you have
Since we visited Mr. Hero

Smelly Flesh Man:
He's annoying af

Me:
You'll warm up to him

Smelly Flesh Man:
No
Never in a thousand years
I'll die before then
I'll kill him first

Me:
Okie dokie

Smelly Flesh Man:
Fuck you
Come by my place after school
I'm going to kick your ass in training
[Middle finger emoji]

Me:
Love ya too
Bye!

Smelly Flesh Man:
I WILL SHANK YOU
YOU PIECE OF SHIT
I STFG

Izuku happily pocketed his phone, ignoring the vibrations coming from it as he regained focus in Mics class. Next to him, he caught Shinsou side eyeing him. He tried offering a smile to his classmate and all he got in return was a blank look.

So far in the past day of going to U.A. he has failed to befriend his desk partner (not a top priority but he'd like to have at least one friend at this school, Dabi says he needs friends who aren't adults) and has managed to completely miss Shouto. None of the hero course students attended the ceremony nor lunch yesterday. It makes him wonder what exactly they do in that course.

He looked back to the board where Mic was standing. The voice hero spread his arms wide and grinned at the class. "Morning listeners! Today we have something extra fun planned for you all!"

Izuku sat up straight in his chair. Extra fun? He tries to wrack his brain for anything the school might do with a bunch of general studies kids. All he could think of was arts and crafts which honestly, he wasn't really feeling.

"As most of you know, the hero course receives special training. Today they're enacting a heroes versus villains simulation." He felt a small pang of jealousy shoot through him as Mic said that. He quickly stuffed it down. He's lucky to just be here in the gen ed course. "Lucky for you guys, general studies has its own form of special training! Each class is designated for a different profession. Class 1-D specializes in business and management! Class 1-E works with computer tech! Class 1-C, which is you, is for analysts!"

This, of course, Izuku already knew. Akito had given him a lecture on the different classes in general studies. They said that each course is designed to help people use those areas of work in a hero setting. Majority of the tech advisors and business employees at Endeavors agency came from U.A.. He wishes more of the general public was aware of this. He thinks more people would aspire to still work with heroes even if they aren't heroes themselves if they knew that these courses existed.

Mic went on, "Not all of you are analysts though! The analyst program always has less students which is why we put students striving to be heroes but didn't make the cut for the hero course into this class! You aspiring heroes can learn from analysts and they can help you reach your full potential without ever having to be in the hero course! That's why this classes lessons proceed very differently from others and why you're each partners with an analyst or aspiring hero!"

At that Shinsou glanced at him and Izuku felt himself shrink under his stare. So he's trying to be a hero? He'd heard that those who don't pass the entrance exam get slotted into general studies but he didn't know they put them with the analysts class. It makes sense. Analysts are meant to help heroes. By letting students train with analysts it helps both the analysts and the heroes grow in their abilities. He has to give the school some credit, that's pretty neat.

"Today I'll be taking you to an observation room where we'll get to watch and analyze the hero course students first training exercise!"

It's not an exaggeration when he says he nearly launched out of his seat from excitement. The class erupted with murmurs from his fellow classmates who seemed just as riled up. They get to watch the hero course! The next generation of heroes! The same course Uraraka and Kacchan are in.

Shit. The same class Kacchan is in.

This is suddenly a lot less exciting. If Kacchan sees him analyzing him he's not going to be happy. He never did like when he wrote down notes about him in his journals. He most definitely won't like him analyzing him in front of an entire class of kids. He's lived a good life at least. He's so screwed.

"Up, out of your seats! Lets go Listeners!"

The room Present Mic took them to was fairly large. It looked like a bigger version of the tech room at Endeavors agency. There were TV screens lining the walls and select buttons on a large panel underneath a set of TV's. In the corner of the room he spotted a sound system consisting of both a set of speakers and a mic. Their teacher walked over to the sound system and stood with his hands on his hips.

Izuku's eyes followed Shinsou as he joined most of their class in front of the many TV's. He hurriedly situated himself beside his desk partner. The tired boy shot him a blank look before shrugging and looking back to the TV's. Awkwardness overtook Izuku as he fiddled with his hands and tried to focus on what the screens were displaying.

On the biggest of the TV's, a view of outside a simulation building stood. Next to it was a screen roughly the same size presenting an image of a wide room and standing by one of the windows was what appeared to be a bomb. That pulled a frown out of him. They wouldn't put a real bomb for a simulation, right? If they did is the point of the activity to keep it from blowing up by using less risky attacks or something else entirely? Mic had said it was a Villain versus Heroes exercise. Does that mean the hero students will go against their teachers or themselves to achieve something with the bomb? Perhaps a game of sorts? They could set it up as one team , the villains, trying to get what they need to 'activate the bomb' and the other team, the heroes, try to stop them. Or maybe a defense against offensive type of simulation would be better. On side guards the bomb the other tries to get to it. Would there be a time limit or a-

"Your muttering."

The voice surprised Izuku enough to yank him out of his thoughts. He turned to Shinsou who was looking at him with a slightly agitated expression. He felt his face heat up. "O-oh. I am?"

"You are," he said, frowning. "You were saying something about what you thought the hero students would be doing."

"Oh, er, sorry. It's a bad habit of mine." he forced out an awkward laugh and rubbed at the back of his neck. He can't even make it two days without making a fool of himself. He tried for a smile. At least Shinsou's paying attention to him now. He stuck out a hand for him to shake. "I'm Midoriya."

His eyes flicked form his face to the outstretched hand, choosing not to shake it. "I know."

"You- You know?" Eyes widening a fraction, he was taken aback.

"Yes," he said calmly. "Present Mic said your name in attendance."

"Right." Wow, he's making more of a fool out of himself. "You're um- You're Shinsou, right? You want to be a hero?"

In return he received that pointed look people give when somethings obvious. Shinsou sighed. "Yes. I'm going to be an underground hero. I assume you're an analyst with all that muttering and planning you were doing."

"Yup!" He bounced excitedly popping the 'p'. "Sorry about that again. I'm trying to work on that though my supervisor says it's good for when working on my internship even if people find it annoying. I guess it makes sense, if I say things out loud than more people will know what I was trying to get at if I don't manage to write it down, which is more likely than not when working for someone like Endeavor."

Next to him, Shinsou froze. "Do you really work- er, I mean, I'm surprised you actually intern under Endeavor."

Izuku tried his best not question the weird behavior too much. He doesn't get why Shinsou would cut himself off from his own question but he supposes everyone has different reasons for the things they do.

"Heh, you're not the only one." He rubbed at the back of his neck. "Most people don't believe me."

Lying about an internship is not the way to get where you're going.

Deku, I really don't think continuing to play this charade is a-

He shook his head, erasing those thoughts instead reminding himself what Dabi told him. It doesn't matter whether people think he's lying or not because they can't change the fact that it's the truth. He doesn't have to live within the box everyone has laced around him. He can exist outside of it and if no one believes him than they are the fools.

"I believe you-- you're a student at U.A. after all-- it's just surprising," Shinsou stated. "I hope you know this means I expect more from you as my analyst since you're playing with the big leagues."

"Your analyst?"

The smirk that stretched across the aspiring heroes face gave away the hidden joke. "Mhm. Present Mic we were partnered with analysts and hero students. That makes you my analyst."

He snorted. "If any thing that makes you my wannabe hero not the other way around."

"ATTENTION LISTENERS!" Mic shouted from the behind him, ending his and Shinsou's conversation. His desk partner glanced a him, a playful glint in his eyes. Izuku smiled softly to himself. He can maybe make a friend faster than he thought. "The first battle is about to begin! For the first group we have Ochako Uraraka and Shouto Todoroki playing the role of heroes!"

Izuku's eyes widened. Someone has to be pulling his leg. The two people he knows? Really? This is rigged, not that he's complaining. He can watch Shouto, get a feel for more of his moves and mannerisms. There's a high chance he picked up some combos and skills from his father. If he can get down Shouto's method of fighting than he's one step closer to figuring of Endeavors (and perhaps giving that information to Dabi so he can give the man an ass kicking). Getting to see Uraraka at the same time is a bonus. He likes her and he doesn't doubt her fighting skills are level with her spirit he saw yesterday.

"Your goal, analysts, is too dissect their quirks and then point out where they went wrong in their plans. After the battle you'll devise a better plan and hand it in tomorrow in class. Aspiring heroes, your job is too watch the hero course students fights. Make note of their moves and how you can apply them to yourselves. Listen to what your analysts and the hero course teacher instructs which will be broadcaster through these speakers." Mic tapped one of the speakers next to him. "The same will be done when observing the villain team!"

"Um, Sensei?" A kid whose tie hung extremely loose around his neck raised his hand. "You forgot to tell us who exactly the villain team is."

Next to the boy, a girl with ears shaped like a bats and black hair pulled back into a bun jabbed him in the stomach. "Shut up."

"Great question listener! I was getting to that!" Mic yelled.

"Sure he was," Izuku swore he heard someone grumble.

"Actually, if you look to the screens you can see the villain team already get prepared before the round starts!"

As if on cue, all twenty heads swiveled to face the screens. On the TV displaying a picture of outside the building, Izuku could make out two figures. The taller of the two was decked out in gear that look similar to the pro hero Ingenium with the pipes sticking out of the calves and iron helmet. It was the figure next to them that made Izuku stiffen. He knew those gauntlets in the shape of grenades. He seen drawings of the orange X across the boys chest and the explosion shaped pieces pinned behind the ears. When he was four, he'd helped design the belt around the figures waist. He knew that costume and he knew the person wearing it even better.

"Our villain team is Tenya Iida and Katsuki Bakugou!"

Oh. Fun.

-:-

Hitoshi isn't sure what to make of the green haired boy next to him. He isn't sure what to make of any of this.

When he got into U.A. he was prepared to put up with a few smart rich kids who managed to make it into to general studies. He was surprised to hear the general education course was meant for more than just kids with good grades. He can't help but be grateful that's not the case. As much potential he likes to believe he has, he still needs guidance if he's going to make it into the hero course during the sports festival. Getting to observe the hero students and have analysts guiding him along, it'll be much better. However, he's confused by the analyst in particular that he's been partnered with.

Midoriya is... well he's interesting. When talking to him he was all smiles and friendliness but it's hard not to notice that in class his face settles into a frown, eye's staring off into the distance. Almost like he was thinking about something no one else knew. Now that he knows he's an analyst he wouldn't be surprised if all he thought about was plans and quirk theories. The expression Midoriya wore now was not either of those.

His eye's were wide, mouth ajar as he stared at the screen when Mic announced the villain team. If Hitoshi knew anything, it was how to read people and the look on Midoriya's was one of surprise and mild horror.

Leaning over, he whispered into Midoriya's ear, "You've figured something out."

It's not like he actually cares about Midoriya. He cares about what shocked him so he knows what to expect in the battle. He's the analyst and if he wants to get a head he'll need him (they don't have to be friends though, thank god). Midoriya gaped like a fish. "It's... the teams."

"The teams." He glanced at the screen again, phrasing his wording in a way that wasn't a question. "I bet you think they're outmatched without even knowing their quirks yet."

"Oh, I know their quirks." He pointed at each member on the screen as he started listing them. "Uraraka, that's the girl in pink, her quirk is zero gravity. She can affect the gravity of objects. That one, with the two toned hair, is Shouto Todoroki. His quirk is half hot half cold, fire and ice emitter type. The one with the gauntlets is Bakugou Katsuki, explosions shoot out of his palms. The last one I think is Iida. The name and outfit suggest a relation to Ingenium meaning his quirk is probably similar. Likely engines in his legs that help him move faster."

Hitoshi blinked at him for a few seconds, ignoring how Bakugou and Iida were moving around the bomb to the center of the room it was in and arguing with each other. He readjusted his collar. "Noted that you have all this randomly stored in your for some reason."

"It's not randomly stored!" Midoriya complained. "I know them all- well, besides Iida- so of course I know their quirks! It's not exactly outmatched because of their quirks though. Kacchan- er, Bakugou that is- can be super competitive. He's smart and aggressive. With his personality alone he'll pummel anyone into the ground. Uraraka's nice, not the type of person you'd pit against Kacchan and Sh- Todoroki has the smarts, strategy and quirk but he most likely underestimates the class for those very same reasons. The villains will win but only by a hair."

He's pretty sure he zoned out during Midoriya's little ramble. He shook his head, clearing his thoughts that were starting to blur the words together. "I didn't need a rant."

"I'm an analyst, it's my job."

"And mines paying attention in class," he muttered before looking back to the screen, finally tuning in to what the villain team was discussing. He wonders if they know that a bunch of kids their age can hear everything they're saying through a speaker.

"I don't see the point of moving this," Iida said even as he continued to help move the 'bomb' to the center of the room.

"Then you're just as stupid as I fucking thought."

"Bakugou-kun! I must ask you to refrain from using profanities on campus! it's highly inappropriate."

Hitoshi didn't feel bad for the guy when Bakugou rolled his eyes and yelled at him to 'shut the fuck up!'. He would have done the same. Does the engine guy have a stick up his ass or something? He acts like a teacher more than Yamada-sensei.

The two finished setting the fake bomb into position and Bakugou started towards Iida grabbing the boys arm. Iida shrieked in alarm. "What are you doing?!"

"Calm down dip shit," Bakugou barked, yanking on his arm. "I'm going to throw you onto the bomb!"

"Why on earth would you do that! I don't want to go up there!" Iida protested.

Next to him, Hitoshi could practically hear the gears turning in Midoriya's head. He watched the boy out of the corner of his eye go through several expressions as realization seemed to dawn on him. What are you thinking, he wanted to ask. What have you figured out?

"Fine," Bakugou grumbled, "fucking stand on the ground and see what shit happens."

"Kacchan, you need your teammate," Midoriya muttered. Hitoshi wondered if he's aware that he's doing it. "You know that. Stick to your plan. What are going to do when the ice comes and-"

His attention snapped from Midoriya to the screens again as class 1-C collectively gasped. On the screen he could make out ice quickly covering all the ground capturing Iida's legs so they stuck to the ground. And Bakugou- well Bakugou was flying as explosions emitted from his palms. When the ice stopped growing across everything, Bakugou landed back on the ground, face set into a glare.

Glowering at Iida he said, "Fucking told you but your dumb as shit. I should leave you here in the ice!"

"I would recall if you told me this was going to happen, Bakugou-kun," he responded with.

"Shut it four eyes!"

"I advise you don't speak to your fellow classmate like that!"  What the fuck is the thing Iida is doing with his arms. It's like he a ref or something. Are all the hero course students this weird?

Bakugou snorted and started shooting explosions at Iida's feet, the ice around it melting but not without the blasts hitting Iida as well. Hitoshi almost felt sorry for the stick-up-his-ass guy as he heard him shout for a split second, a spark probably getting into his engines.

"Stay right fucking here," Bakugou demanded. Slowly a grin creeped across his face, but not the good kind of grinning that Hitoshi found so many people wore all the damn time. It was the kind that he'd see in shows about villains with ill intentions. The smile that showed the break of insanity and blood lust. Fun. "I'm going to go kick some extras asses."

The room was filled with hushed whispers as the many analysts discussed what was going on to either fellow analysts, themselves (Midoriya and his muttering), or their aspiring hero (is that what Mic called them?) partner.  He picked up bits and pieces of conversation around him. He surprised to find only a few people were talking about Bakugou's lack of tact. Nearly everyone was focused on commenting about how well Todoroki's plan would have worked if the pairing had been different. Apparently the guys quirk was supposed to freeze everyone to the ground and he'd calmly walk in there- making sure Uraraka was safe outside- to touch the bomb ending the round.

"He doesn't know," Midoriya muttered. "His plan didn't work but he doesn't know. He thinks he's walking in with a secured win. The moment he gets close enough Kacchan will surprise attack him. Uraraka can't act as back up since she's outside waiting. Since half of him should be more immune to heat maybe Kacchan's blasts will effect him less giving him time to recover and maybe turn things back into his favor? But he's have to get through Iida too after that."

Hitoshi added, "Yeah but I don't think engines over there would be hard to take with the state he's in right now. All that whining about poor classmanship and the freaky villain role he's getting into."

"Huh?" Midoriya tilted his head to the side, eye's widening. "Oh gosh! Was I muttering again?"

"Yeah, a fair bit," he answered. Movement on one of the screens caught his attention and he wasn't the only one if the sudden quiet in the class was anything to go by.

Everyone's eyes were on the two big screens which had changed to show Todoroki making his way through the building and on the second screen, Bakugou trailing behind him, stealth covering his every move. Hitoshi wondered when in his conversation with Midoriya had Bakugou managed to sneak up on Todoroki. The part that got everyone to hold their breath was how close the two were, Bakugou's hand appearing to glow a little as he heated up his explosions.

Hitoshi felt like he was watching a horror movie and screaming at the characters to just look around! He itched to tell Todoroki to take even a small glance back but he knew it was pointless. His warnings would fall deaf on the ears of the hero course student. Anticipation rose in him as Bakugou edged even closer, his face twisted into that wicked grin he hadn't dropped since yelling at Iida.

Nothing could pull his attention away from the screen, not even Midoriya's twitching fingers. The analyst spoke, words feeling like shouts in the dead silence of the room. "Watch your right."

The next thing Hitoshi knew, Bakugou was lunging at Todoroki, hand glowing orange as he swung at Todoroki, fist nailing into his shoulder. The dual colored boy let out a grunt as he went tumbling into one of the many walls, ice that branched from his arm bracing the impact a bit.

Everything was silent except for the small crackling of sparks coming from Bakugou's hands. Every person in 1-C turned to Midoriya, jaw slacked. Hitoshi stared at him. He'd studied combat. He knew what it looked like when someone was about to make a move. He hadn't seen Bakugou's swing coming, no one had. If Midoriya had called it out as the arm moved, that would be understandable but he'd said it several seconds before. What the fuck?

"How did you know?" the same guy who'd asked Mic about the villain team (Kaseki is what Mic called him during attendance) shouted from across the room.

Midoriya seemed unfazed, hyper focused on the screens and the scene playing out. "Kacchan always throws a right hook to start."

Shit. Hitoshi should have picked up on that. Of course the reason he knew was because he knows Bakugou. He said he knows all the kids fighting right now. Great going Hitoshi. You've out dumbed yourself.

"You icy-hot bastard, get up and fight me!" Bakugou yelled at Todoroki who was pealing himself off the ground. He got to his feet, blank expression showing no sign of offense to Bakugou's taunts. With a steady hand raised, ice shot from it, going directly towards the explosive blonde. Bakugou didn't move, instead sending explosions from his palms to break the ice before it could reach him.

Todoroki jumped forward, ice slamming into the walls around them creating a cage. Midoriya lit up. He tapped Hitoshi on the arm, pointing at the screen and whispering to him, "You see how he's formed the ice? He's trapped Kacchan and limiting his space. Both of their quirks are long distance quirks and Kacchan's works much better if he has room to jump around. Todoroki can still freeze him at a close distance, even if it's harder. Sometimes you have to disadvantage yourself to weaken your opponent even more. Got it?"

He nodded. It made some sense. He's starting to get why the school pairs wannabe hero students with analysts. If Midoriya keeps giving him pointers that he can apply to himself he'll be in the hero course in no time. The only downside is it requires actually talking to people.

Bakugou rolled to the side as another shard of ice shot towards him. He cursed loud enough for the speakers to pick it up, and blasted at Todoroki's leg. Todoroki's ice couldn't block all of the blast and this time the explosion hit his right side. A wince left Todoroki as that leg gave way under him. He caught himself with his ice. Bakugou took the advantage and swung out his leg, a blow going straight to his stomach. Mr. Heterochromia fell to his side just in time for a patch of his ice to carry him away from Bakugou.

"Why isn't he using his left? Why isn't he using it?" More muttering from Midoriya. He really needs to get that under control. Not everyone needs to hear his thoughts even if they are helpful.

This time, Hitoshi had been thinking the same thing as his partner. Todoroki's quirk is half-cold half-hot so why isn't he using the 'hot' aspect. Maybe the hot is just his looks because damn. Hitoshi shook his head to clear that thought. This is not what he should be focusing on. Todoroki must have a fire side to complement his ice, or something along the lines of that from what he can tell from Midoriya's muttering. Why isn't he using it? That's a whole other half of his power he could use to his advantage.

Bakugou was shot back into a wall of ice by Todoroki who'd made it back to his feat and punched the obnoxious guy in the face. Hitoshi had to hide a snort of amusement. Serves him right for leaving his teammate. Speaking of teammates, in the screen below the one displaying Bakugou and Todoroki's sprawl, he could see a flash of white and pink.

Oh?

That girl, Uraraka, was floating in the air, her hands pressed together. He noticed her face looked a sickly green as she ascended, rising story by story. He managed to keep his expression neutral as he realized just which floor she was going to.

He reached over and tapped on Midoriya's shoulder. The analyst grunted in acknowledgement but swiveled his head when Hitoshi pointed to the smaller screen. He said, "The girl."

Immediately Midoriya caught on. His eye's widened. "She- she figured it out!" He cheered. "I knew she could do it!"

Hitoshi frowned. Sarcasm dripped from his voice as he said, "Gee, it would be nice if you filled me in on what's going on."

"Oh, sorry," Midoriya quickly excused himself, rubbing his neck. "When Kacchan and Iida moved the bomb it was so no one would see it's shadow in the windows but also so Uraraka wouldn't be able to simply fly up and touch it through a window. So while her plan has a fault it might still work! She must have noticed Todoroki was taken too long or saw some of the explosions and figured she'd need to enact a plan B. Flying up to the floor the 'bomb' is on gets her past Bakugou who's distracted. She just had Iida to deal with which might be a challenge but she's regained their upper hand!"

His gaze shifted back to Todoroki and Bakugou which holy shit. That's a lot of bruises and scrapes they've got all over them. He's pretty sure Icy King has a bloody nose. Is it bad he feels both glad and jealous he's not in the hero course getting the crap beat out of himself too? Realistically there's no way he'd have won in this fight if he wasn't able to use his quirk. Though, it's painfully obvious Bakugou would answer one of his questions, especially with that temper.

"Die bastard!" He shouted as he launched explosion after explosion. "You can't beat me you piece of shit!"

Someone needs anger management classes.

"Uraraka's nearly to the floor the bombs on," Midoriya note, "though I think she's about to pass out or throw up."

He's right. Just looking at how green the girls face had become made Hitoshi want to hurl. He feels a little bad (just a little, so small it's microscopic). She floated just high enough to reach the fifth floor before she went crashing through the window. Iida, who'd been standing facing the door, visibly flinched. He whipped around to see the girl lying on the floor just before the bomb. He watched painfully as she reached out a hand, fingers almost touching the bomb.

Iida bolted into action and raced towards her. He raced in front of her and went to keep her from touching the bomb but she rolled (oh gosh, Hitoshi though in horror, not with nausea) and managed to dodge his attempt to grab her.

Hitoshi felt like he was getting a head ache with how quickly his eye's were flicking from screen to screen, looking between the two fights. In the top screen, Todoroki and Bakugou were in a whirlwind of explosions and ice. Todoroki's expression had shifted from it's neutral look to a contortion of anger and frustration. Bakugou was grinning as manically as ever but his teeth seemed to grind into each other, eyebrows knit into a scowl, multiple curses leaving his lips.

On the second screen below, Iida seemed to be in a state of shock as Uraraka floated a rock next to her (where did that come from?) and directed it to swerve and knock Iida's helmet off. She made a last effort to push forward and tap the bomb. Hitoshi held his breath and could hear Midoriya's sharp intake next to him as well. Could they both be more obvious about who they're rooting for?

Iida was too quick though. He recovered from his shock and dashed to her, sending a kick (ouch) to her shoulder which shot her back into the window. She gasped as she hit it, slumping to the floor.

Todoroki and Bakugou were battling viciously in the screen above. Bakugou somehow had came to be holding Todoroki down to the ground on his stomach. His knee dug into Ice Creams back, the hands holding down his shoulders still popping mini explosions. Todoroki snarled and thrashed under him.

"Trapped now, fucking extra," Bakugou snapped, victorious grin spreading across his lips. For some reason that grin was just as scary as the manic one, not that it fazed Hitoshi. "I always win!"

Cocky much? He hopes when he gets into the hero course he ends up replacing this asshole.

"So do... I!" Todoroki yelled surprisingly frustrated. As he screamed, ice shot out of his whole right side, creating a pillar that pushed him with Bakugou on his back up into the air. Hitoshi frowned when Bakugou's back slammed into the ceiling, a crack ringing through the air. There goes a rib or two. Bakugou screamed, loud and enraged but still stricken with pain.

In the second screen, Iida's head turned in the direction of the door to the room him and Uraraka were in. His pupils shrunk in worry. He spoke into his ear piece that all the teams had been assigned. "What was that? Bakugou-kun, are you alright?"

"HERO TEAM WINS!"

The loud voice coming through the speakers surprised everyone, both class 1-C and the groups fighting. The only person who didn't jump at the sound was Midoriya who was standing next to him, a proud smirk across his lips.

What the...? How is it over? No one touched the... oh.

He wished he'd seen it. He wished he could say if he was apart of the simulation he would have been able to have stopped it but he knew he wouldn't have. He hadn't even seen it as a spectator.

With her hand proudly on the bomb, Uraraka was lying next to it looking ready to pass out. Had she-- had she really crawled over there from the window in the midst of Iida's distraction? Holy fuck. She's got determination.

"You..." she breathed, voice shaking, "let down your guard."

Iida gaped at her, everyone gaped at her. He seemed frozen for a few moments before he shifted into a stiff bow. "I... I suppose I did. Congratulations. You're a talented opponent."

She smiled at him weakly before promptly passing out. About time.

"YOU MOTHERFUCKING BASTARD! WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO!" Bakugou raged at Todoroki who seemed just as confused. "YOU FUCKING- ah, fuck, fuck, fuck."

Explodo boy griped his ribs, breath coming out in quick pinched wheezes. Hah. Sucker forgot he probably broke a few ribs. That'll shut him up.

Hitoshi turned his gaze to Midoriya. The analyst's emotions seemed to conflict across his features. His lips were pulled into a tight smile like he wanted to be happy and proud but at the same time felt sympathy for the losing team. Hitoshi snorted. He couldn't imagine being that kind to care for both the winners and the losers. This guy is something else.

"Okay listeners," Mic exclaimed, catching all of their attention. "The groups will be heading back to the observation room where the rest of class 1-A is where they'll be going through a briefing on what they did right or wrong, MVP, and all that jazz. So," he clasped his hands together, "anyone have any idea what the hero team did right?"

A dozen hands shot in the air. Hitoshi's frown deepened. Shit, he forgot this is what he was supposed to be thinking about during the entirety of the simulation. At least he has Midoriya as a partner. He seems on top of this analyst stuff. Not that Hitoshi can't draw a few points from the battle himself.

Kaseki's hand was the one picked first. The girl next to him yanked it down (Kimodi? Komari? Komori? Mic had said something like that during attendance) and hissed at him, "I told you all the stuff, don't take my spotlight."

"Come on, Komori!" Ha. Knew it.

"Let her speak," Mic told Kaseki.

Komori stuck her tongue out at her friend before speaking. "The hero team did a lot of good things but the best form of strategy was having Uraraka sneak in. Todoroki is the perfect distraction. He clearly is powerful so it's no wonder someone would go for him right away making it easy for Uraraka to slip by though if it hadn't been for Bakugou's scream, she might not have been able to have made it. Their flaw was that they didn't realize Iida's potential."

"Excellent!" Mic announced and Hitoshi took note of the way Midoriya's eyebrows furrowed, eye's casting downward. "I was going to ask for the flaw but you've listed it! Now which listener can tell me where the loosing team went wrong?"

More hands than before shot in the air. Mic picked one of the kids in the back. They started saying, "The first mistake was the positions. Leaving the fast one who could chase Todoroki around and tie him up quickly to guard when Bakugou could have done much better defending from Uraraka was incredibly fool-"

"Wrong."

The whole room seemed to be over taken by Todoroki's quirk, their gazes snapped to Hitoshi. No, not Hitoshi. Next to him. He looked to Midoriya, mind pulling a double take. His green eyes were narrowed, annoyance in them. He felt words fail to come to his mind. Up till then, Midoriya seemed so... chill. He'd been all smiles and occasional worry and fear but not this. Not direct annoyance.

Present Mic blinked at the front of the observation room. He pulled his glasses down on the bridge of his nose. "Midoriya? Care to elaborate?"

"Both of those analysis are wrong," he stated, eyes flickering between the two people who'd made them. "I don't want to offend anyone but the villain team had the best plan, even if they lost."

Bold, was Hitoshi's first thought. Then he went over the battle in his head, the points Midoriya had made through out it. It was bold, sure, but it could backed up.

"Kacchan had a plan. He thought it out well, from the very beginning. He got Iida to move the bomb to the center because he'd thought about Uraraka floating up to it and simply reaching through the window. He'd tried getting Iida on top of the bomb at the start so he wouldn't get caught in the ice. He'd taken account the Todoroki would have thought his plan had worked and went after him, going for a sneak attack." He looked to the person who'd made the second analysis. "You claim the positions were wrong but they were perfect for their team. If Iida had gone after Todoroki instead then his engines would be quickly frozen, even if he could dodge. That much cold wouldn't have been good for him and the ground was already covered in ice making it hard to run on.

"If Kacchan had stayed to watch over the bomb he wouldn't have had the speed, as fast as he is, to get to Uraraka in time in case she burst through one of the windows. His explosions are also reckless to have around a bomb. It may be fake but the point is to treat it like the real thing. Iida even got into the villain role really well. Having Kacchan go after Todoroki dealt with the cold factor, since Kacchan runs hot because of his quirk, and he was able to render the ice attacks useless by blowing them up. Iida was fast enough to stop Uraraka the first time and it was only the distraction that caused the second.

"The villain team's only mistake was that they lacked communication. Kacchan failed to inform his teammate of his plans which led to confusion on Iida's part. He blindly trusted that Iida had the intelligence and strategizing skills to see what he was thinking as well. And though trusting in someones abilities is important, when it comes to plans the strategic ability of the other person doesn't matter if they aren't aware of your own plans. That and the distraction were what cost them the match."

Word vomit but okay.

Truthfully, he has no fucking clue what any of the stuff he said meant. He talks faster than anyone he knows, going over everything and pointing out the ups and downs. The only thought going through his head is: no wonder this guy is an intern for Endeavor.

"Um." Komori raised her hand. "Hate to burst your bubble or whatever but what does that have to do with my points on the hero team?"

"I was getting to that," Midoriya said. "It's simple if any of you were listening to what Todoroki had said to Uraraka before the match you would have known that he had barely any plan." Hitoshi felt mildly attacked. "He'd told her to wait outside for him because he didn't want her getting hurt from his ice. He'd gone in hoping his ice would freeze everyone and everything. That was it. Just waltz in and touch the bomb. That turned out to be wrong, clearly. He's lucky he was able to put up a good fight. This led to Kacchan creating a big enough explosion to draw Uraraka's attention.

"She saw this and must have known things were going wrong and tried out her own plan, not knowing what she was going into. It was smart but sadly already accounted for. Again, without that last minute distraction, she never would have made it. Their plan was hardly a plan.

"However," he added, "their plan may have been bad but their improvisation and fighting skills were incredible. Uraraka came up with a last minute plan, even if it was doomed to fail, and Todoroki held his own against Kacchan for a long time. Him slamming him into the wall was what caused the distraction the first place, leading to their victory. The hero team earned it's win, that I won't argue but it's unfair for you to put down the villain team with false analysis."

Hitoshi saw the glint in Midoriya's eye's that dared anyone to call him bias because of the name 'Kacchan' indicating closeness. No one did. The whole room was quiet and the two analysts who'd came to the first conclusions hung their heads. Hitoshi couldn't help but smirk. Take that! His partner is better!

He mentally cringed immediately after that thought.

"Uh," Mic gulped. "I'll tell that to class 1-A's teacher. Erm, class dismissed!"

The group bolted out of the room. Hitoshi let his gaze follow Midoriya before he quickly chased after him. He grabbed the boy by the wrist, pulling him to a stop. Midoriya looked to him in confusion. "Shinsou, hey. What do you-"

"I'm not here to make friends," he said, cutting him off.

"Uh, okay...?"

He sighed, running a hand through his hair. This is harder than he thought. "I- look, you're analysis back there was impressive and I... I'm going to become a hero if it's the last thing I do. I need help and after seeing that..." He straightened his back, standing taller. "I'm certain that I'll look forward to being your partner."

Midoriya appeared shocked for a moment before his features melted into a soft smile. "Help each other to the top sort of thing right?"

"Right." He nodded.

"Okay." Midoriya turned away from him, waving over shoulder. "I look forward to it too!"

Hitoshi's eye's followed him down the hallway. With Midoriya helping him, he will get in to the hero course. No doubt about it.
