Sins of the past latch onto me, holding me in place

Weighing me down as I struggle to live

I know their the mistakes I must face

One of these days my throbbing heart is going to give

These scars are attached to me forever

They scream to be forgiven by everyone I wronged

Even so, I don't view these scars as disgraceful whatsoever

For without them I couldn't change from the horrible person to which I belonged

So, if I hurt you in anyway know I'm trying to atone

From the bottom of my soul, I hope your life is as beautiful as can be

But I still just have to let it be known

I'm more than just my past, so let us all finally be free
