Synopsis (Spoiler Alert!)

Chapter 1 (Nory)

Upside-Down Fluxer Nory Horace is excited that she has no school for three days because of a field trip to Dragon Haven, a forest where the dragons that are "injured or can't survive in the wild" stay. Margo, Nory's aunt and the Dunwiddle Flyer taxi, drops Nory off at Dunwiddle Magic School and reminds her that "dragons need rehabilitation" before flying away. The Upside-Down Magic gang (consists of Nory Horace, Upside-Down Flare Elliott Cohen, Shrinker Marigold Ramos, Upside-Down Flare Willa Ingeborg, Upside-Down Flicker Sebastain, Fierce Pepper Phan, Upside-Down Fluxer Bax Kapoor, Andres Padillo, teacher Ms. Eloise Starr, and Nurse Riley) pack up their belongings and head on out to the forest.

Chapter 2 (Andres)

Upside-Down Flyer Andres Padillo is almost forgotten. Upside-Down Fuzzy Ms. Eloise Starr and Nory catch him just in time before he flies away and Andres wonders where his bag full of bricks is, as Nurse Riley forgot to bring it.

Meanwhile, Ms. Starr is helping Sebastian get used to the bus' soundwaves and both can't find his blindfold, again as he didn't bring it with him or The Sparkies stole it from him. Ms. Starr asks anyone for a scarf to use to help Sebastian and Andres still can't find his brick-filled backpack/"brickpack". Willa Ingeborg tries to catch Andres's leash, but she fails and it begins to rain inside the bus. Elliott Cohen offers to help by turning Willa's rain into hail, Nory turns into a kitten-goat/"koat", and Bax turns into a rock and brings Andres Padillo down to a seat on the bus. Ms. Starr finally wraps Nurse Riley's sweater around Sebastian's eyes and figures out what went wrong in the back of the bus. Nory and Andres eat some chocolate on the bus and Nory plans to "save a couple for Bax".

Chapter 3 (Nory)

Nory and the gang have packed lunches on the bus as they enter Angel Canyon, where Dragon Haven is. As the UDM class exits the bus, they are greeted by Chief Dragonologist at Dragon Haven, Flyer Dr. Miriam "Mo" Cho. As the group heads to the welcome center, a Bramble Dragon roars in the forest, who Mo explains that "she was caught by hunters and sold to people who thought they wanted a baby dragon for a pet".

Mo then says that the UDM boys will bunk with Nurse Riley, whose first name is Felix, and the UDM girls bunk with Ms. Starr.

Then, fifty of the "normal" students arrive in uniforms and they appear to be the same age as the Dunwiddle UDM kids. "The girls are going to share five cabins" while it is unknown how many cabins to boys will share.

Willa Ingeborg Marigold Ramos then see a normal Fluxer turn into a regular elephant as she leaves the bus and while Nory says she's a showoff. Marigold then challenges Nory by saying "Anyway, since when have you been afraid of hard things?" and Nory jumps off of her bunk bed onto the wooden floor.

Chapter 4 (Andres)

Orientation is in the Great Hall aka the library and Andres sees Nory talking about different kinds of dragons like the "Havoline-Dex, Freddo, Reef, Icebreath...." Then, Mo comes by and tells the campers about the dragons and reminds that they are wild, not domestic. She leaves and Felix ties Andres to look at dragon skeletons with Bax and Andres he's alone.

Chapter 5 (Nory)

Nory and Elliott walk in the Dragon Haven Woods, when they walk in on a kittenball game involving Sage Academy Fluxers Mitali (also a Flare), "Fushcia, Suki, Theresa-May, Anemone, Yarrow, and Fred". Mitali asks Nory to join while Elliott referees and when Kitten-Nory uses a Yaggle (a move in which the Fluxed kitten rolls the yarnball to its normal form under their furry belly while walking), Kitten-Mitali breathe dragon fire and Nory, in shock, turns back to her normal form. Fuchsia then turns back into human form and scolds Mitali. Then the game is back on after Mitali tells Nory what her magic and Nory tells Mitali how's she's Upside-Down.

Chapter 6 (Andres)

Andres' leash comes loose in the library and Andres floats to the top of the building and rests on the dome, which is painted with a Bubble Dragon on it. Andres then tries to reach for a wooden post that shoots across the ceiling and he does, doing Flyer gymnastics by himself. Then, Sage Flyers Phoebe, Tip, Tomas, and Lark (who all fly three feet in the air) find Andres and they cheer for his power and help him get down from the ceiling.

Chapter 7 (Nory)

Before dinner, twins Fred and Anemone (along with double-talent Mitali) get dressed for dinner and when they come out of the cabins, Nory is shocked to find out they come from Sage Academy, the school she was kicked out of after failing the Big Test. In the cafeteria, Mitali insists Nory meets Flicker Headmaster Stone Horace, not knowing Nory is her headmaster's daughter. Nory then sits with her classmates for dinner after Stone tells Mitali that Nory is his daughter.

Chapter 8 (Andres and Nory)

After dinner, there is a campfire, in which sparklers are lit and campfire songs are sang. Then, Mo introduces the campers to Luminous Dragonettes, small firefly-like dragons. Sebastian and Marigold feel that the Dragonettes's "firbling" (a noise Luminous Dragonettes make) empowered them. The campers are in awe and then they go off to bed. Mo then announces before they go to their cabins is that there is pajama breakfast the next morning.

Chapter 9 (Nory and Andres)

The UDM kids wear their pajamas to breakfast, while the Sage kids, under the rule of Stone, wear their uniforms. When one kids calls Stone "Snorace the Bore", Nory feels lucky not to attend Sage Academy.

At Rock Garden Creek, the UDM kids feed the fruit-loving Tangerine Dragons. Andres wears a "stonepack" (a backpack full of large stones) and hates it. Mo then says that Tangerine Dragons live in "Clans"/family groups and that the dragon not accepted into one of the Clans in named Ernesto.

Chapter 10 (Andres and Nory)

Bax then goes missing and the UDM kids panic. Felix sprays grey rocks that the class finds with Bax's new medicine (as stated in Book 2, Bax's old medicine gave him the ability to turn things to stone which is the reason Bax has a new medication). Nory then turns into a "dritten" (she turns into this when she is "stressed out") and flies to find Bax. The flight is unsuccessful and Dritten-Nory finds the Sage kids at the bridge as "Willa, paler than usual, pointed toward the path that led from camp up to the bridge". The Sage arrive and Mo says the incident involves an Upside-Down Fluxer and Stone hisses, "Was it Nory Horace?" Nory, in shame, turns back to normal and Mo explains the UDM class' powers. Just then, Bax appears, wearing a sweater and scarf, saying he was cold and went back to the cabin to put them on.

Chapter 11 (Andres)

Bax then is given a lecture on responsibility and Mo tells the students in the Great Hall their next activities: Greydrop Lake boating with Bubble Dragons (Luis, Ms. Starr, and Nurse Riley) or The Atrium of Healing to help baby dragons (Stone Horace). The students go to their respective teachers while Andres goes with Sage Academy to the Atrium greenhouse, where Flyer Dragonologist Hendricks tells the students to help the little dragons fly. Andres comes loose in the Atrium and goes in the multiple directions like he did in the Great Hall and the Sage Flyers cheer. He then realizes why he's there and grabs a branch on a tree, where Zog, the baby Arbor Dragon, is sleeping in his hollow. Hendricks then comments that Zog was found by police officers "on top of a lamppost in a crowded, bustling city. We don't know how he got there. The firefighters who rescued him told us he was trembling with fear, poor little guy. They sent him here for rehab." Andres says he feels bad for Zog and Hendricks continues on saying that Zog can fly, but he's traumatized. Andres coaxes Zog out of his hollow by telling him that he won't hurt him while Hendricks rambles on on how they give Zog treats to get him out of the hollow, but won't budge. Zog then walks out his hollow and snuggles into Andres as the Upside-Down Flyer lets himself fly up to the ceiling with the little dragon in his arms. Zog then realizes that flying high isn't so bad and begins to fly around the greenhouse, with Andres and Hendricks whooping in triumph.

Chapter 12 (Nory)

After lunch, Nory and Mitali fly as birds around the forest. Nory turns into a bluebird, while Mitali turns into a robin. A few minutes later, Nory turns into a "Flabluebird" (a combination of a bluebird and a flamingo), which is later called a "Flabluebulous", due to Nory thinking flamingos are fabulous. Then, both girls land near the kittenball court, turn back into human form, and discuss their magic. Then, Nory and Mitali decide to use their magic to have fun. Nory turns into a dritten while Mitali turns into a fire-breathing robin.

Chapter 13 (Andres)

At dinner, Mo tells the campers their three activities: an online tutorial in the library, seeing a "whelp"/dragonet hatch, or (for Flyers only) monitoring Bubble Dragons. Andres, Phoebe, Tip, Tomas, and Lark do the Bubble Dragon monitoring. They are lead to the river by the way of a jeep driven by Flyer Blade. Safety gear is handed out and Andres tells Blade he's upside-down. Blade then has Andres' leash attached to him while Andres' stonepack is off of him. Blade then gives directions and the six Flyers fly. Andres feel powerful while flying next to Blade while Phoebe, Tip, Tomas, and Lark clock the dragons. After dragon clocking, Blade tells Andres to train more and both Flyers salute each other.

Chapter 14 (Nory)

The Sage kids do the online tutorial while the UDM kids follow Dr. Nubbly in the Hatchery to show the kids the dragon eggs. She then introduces then to Blurper eggs who where found in a "truck hauling soda pop and pretzels". She then moves the room containing fluffly Cuddlepusses and Nory notices that one of the eggs is hatching. When the egg hatches, Nory named the Blurper Roarie and realizes her dritten is half-Blurper.

Chapter 15 (Andres)

The Flyers walk in the woods after dinner and Andres suggests getting off his leash and flying solo. He does, despite protests, an when he thinks all is fine, he suddenly starts flying up into space.

Chapter 16 (Nory)

Nory takes care of Roarie and while taking Roarie out for a walk, Nory sees Andres floating into space. She turns into a dritten and Roarie follows. But Nory thinks it's too late when Andres floats into the clouds.

Chapter 17 (Andres)

Andres tries to get himself down, using techniques he learned from his Dunwiddle tutor, but it doesn't work. Then, he finds a downdraft and saves himself. Nory finds Andres and congratulates him on saving himself. Then the five Flyers and Upside-Down Fluxer walk towards their cabins to sleep for the night. 

Chapter 18 (Nory)

The Sage people groan about not seeing the Luminous Dragonettes and then the 5th-graders make fun of Stone. Nory then loudly retorts that the Sage Headmaster cares a lot about his job and students. The entire place then goes quiet. Stone then confronts Nory and compliments her, but reminds her that he is working and Mr. Puthoor (from Book 1) is there. Nory then pleads to make the walls invisible so everyone can see the Luminous Dragonettes again. Stone then agrees and does that. Dr. Horace is pronounced the hero of the night.

Chapter 19 (Nory)

During the night, Nory hides Roarie in her duffel bag, and when she wakes up the next morning, she sneaks Roarie into her hoodie jacket. After eating breakfast, as she drag her duffel bag to the bus, Mitali. At the last minute, Nory takes her pet Blurper for a walk in the forest when Tip approaches her. He apologizes about last night and pets Roarie for a bit before Andres approaches them and tells Nory to let Roarie go. She refuses, but Andres agrees to go with her.

Nory tells Mo about Roarie and is upset. She also tells Mo about her dritten being half-Blurper. Mo invites her to stay at Dragon Haven over the summer to study her dritten. Then the Chief Dragonologist takes the Blurper dragonet to the Tangerine Dragon habitat. The Tangerine Dragon dragonets roughhouse with Roarie before Ernesto steps in and decides to becomes Roarie's friend/raise Roarie. Nory then says her last goodbyes to her pink-winged friend before boarding the bus to go back to Dunwiddle to be picked up by Aunt Margo.

Note: I borrowed this book from the library 04/21/2018-05/12/2018. I thought it was better than the other UDM books, since it has camping and dragons in it (if you know what I mean). Oh, and the format I'm using is something I came up with and never tried before. Tell me what you think about the new synopsis format please!
