Tiana regretted how harshly she treated Betty the other day, she wanted to apologize but it seemed that Betty hadn't wanted to be in a room alone with Tiana since then. As much as Tiana wanted to blame Betty, she had no one to blame but herself. She was reminded of a time in her childhood when she was scolded by her Mother for saying something mean about her Father, she did apologize, and began to shower him with tea and homemade things she made. Of course, Anton forgave her, because Tiana was his little girl.
So that was Tiana's plan, to apologize and do things for Betty that she has no choice but to accept. She stood up from her desk and walked out the door, she stepped into the empty hallway before she walked towards the kitchen twiddling her fingers. As Tiana stepped into the kitchen she walked toward the nearest maid. "Can you make some tea for me, please?" Tiana forced herself to add the please at the end, the maid looked up surprised but nodded. "Would you like anything in it, Miss Malinowski?" Tiana hesitated but nodded after a second thought.
"Honey and lemon," Tiana instructed watching as the maid nodded and got started on making the tea Tiana requested. She turned around in the kitchen and started looking for anything to give to Betty, everything was a little too nice for Tiana to feel comfortable giving to Betty, as she was waiting for the tea to be finished she saw a butler that Tiana frequently sees talking to Betty, she has a small feeling that they made be together but for some reason, Tiana gets a rage of thought in her belly whenever she thinks that. "Hi, can I ask you something?" Tiana says grabbing the man's attention who looks at Tiana surprised but nods, Tiana didn't know why she asked permission, she just felt like she needed to.
"I want to give Betty something, what should I give her?" The butler looked at Tiana with a raised eyebrow before pressing his lips together as he was in thought. "She likes flowers, I would give her some of those." The butler says as he crosses his arms and looked at Tiana curiously. "Right." Tiana turned around when the maid announced that the tea was ready, she carefully held it in her hand before she regarded the butler again. "Where can I find Betty?" The butler looked amused at Tiana, but he pointed towards the door that leads into the courtyard out from the kitchen. "She's in the garden." He says before he walks away before Tiana could ask him anything else.
Tiana frowned at the behavior of the butler, she would have to ask her Mother for thoughts on his behavior. She was one of the people signing his paycheck after all. She walked toward the door and looked at the door handle and the tea in her hand, she was about to ask for help when someone reached out and turned the handle without Tiana needing to ask. "Thank you." Tiana nodded at the chef who had stopped cooking when he saw Tiana's struggle, he nodded at Tiana. She let out a shivering breath when she was hit with the cold air.
She wasn't dressed for outside weather so she could feel the cold nipping at her legs, the tea that she was carrying was a nice center of warmth for her to focus on. Tiana almost got lost trying to find Betty, but when she saw her she looked at the nearest flowers and quickly picked one hoping that the gardener wouldn't mind. Once she got close enough she coughed loudly to get Betty's attention so she wouldn't scare her. "Oh! Do you need anything, Miss?" Betty asks as she stands up quickly, Tiana licked her lips as she shook her head.
"No, I just wanted to give you these and apologize for the other day. I treated you harshly, I shouldn't have done that." Betty looked surprised but took the tea and flower with a smile. "You shouldn't have treated me like you did but thank you for the apology and I accept." Tiana was surprised at the choice of Betty's words, no one has ever told her off like that before that wasn't her family. "Well, uh I'll leave you alone with your tea." Tiana rubbed her arms quickly to try and get warmth back into them, a small part of Tiana was hoping that Betty would ask her to sit down but she had a feeling that Betty wanted to be alone. "Why don't you sit, if you're cold we can share my shawl, it's big enough for both of us." Betty carefully placed the tea and flower beside her and untied the shawl that she was wearing, she gestured for Tiana to sit down which she did without a second thought before she was getting cold.
Betty draped the other side of the shawl around Tiana and loosely tied it so it could stay around both of them, it didn't help keep Tiana's legs warm but it kept her upper half warm. "There we go." Betty smiled as she carefully grabbed her tea and sipped it. From the closeness that they were at Tiana saw things that she never noticed about Betty before, but one thing that stuck out was Betty's necklace.
It was simple but it had one diamond stone, something that Tiana knew Betty couldn't get on what Tiana paid her and Betty never seemed like she would like something like that before, Tiana hummed as she thought about checking her jewelry box when she got back to her room even though Betty never gave her a reason to not trust her, but Tiana wanted to just make sure despite the necklace being too simple for Tiana's taste.
