25 | Splitting Beauty
*Blue's POV*
It seemed like hours before I came to. I felt like Beauty, only after she had been stupid enough to poke that darn spinning wheel. My eyes felt like they each had a nickel placed on the lids, which prevented me from opening them. My breath caught in my throat as I tried moving my arms, only to be met with the horrifying fate that they were pinned down against something cold and hard. Like a metal lab table...
Oh. Oh crap.
"Help!" I tried to scream, but because of a strange cottony substance around the insides of my cheeks, I wasn't able to pronounce it right. It sounded more like, 'helphm'.
Fear racked through my brain as I tried with all my might to figure out what was going on. Okay... The date with Keith, yelling at Chase, running out to the car... He took a wrong turn. The yellow liquid...
Was this what the Davenports had warned me about? The, what was his name? Krane? I felt tears prickle underneath my closed lids. I was... Scared. Like, really scared. More than I had been when my mom pulled out that gun. More than I had been when I was crying in the closet. My breathing became labored as I fought against the straps that were holding me down.
"Lef meh so!" I screamed through the cotton. I tried desperately to open my eyes but I wasn't able.
Suddenly, footsteps sounded from somewhere near my left side. I immediately went silent, shaking against the cold metal that was being pressed up against the exposed portions of my skin. Whoever they were paused next to my head, and pulled something on wheels closer to me. Next came the sound of rustling metal, like someone shuffling through a bunch of knives or silverware.
"Scanners deactivate," a deep voice rasped. A split second later, the weights that had been pressing against my eyes was lifted, and my eyes flashed open. At first, all I could see was a blinding white light. But as my eyes adapted, I caught sight of the person towering over the table, staring at me. They reached over, and slid something large out of my mouth, removing the cottony feeling. I let out a loud gagging noise, a putrid taste taking its place.
I figured that whoever was doing this to me deserved to pay, so once I had regained control of my gag reflex, I whipped my head back around and stared daggers at...
"Keith?" I gasped.
"Hey there, beautiful," Keith smirked down at me.
Anger burst through me. I lifted my arm in an attempt to hit him, but it failed because, you know...
"As soon as I get out of here, I'm going to go behind a dumpster and grab a rat infested Walmart bag so I can suffocate you with rat crap," I snarled at him. After those words came out of my mouth I silently cursed at myself. I had been saving that insult for Chase!
Keith let out a short, half-hearted laugh, turning away from me to gaze around the room that we were in. As he did this, I realized that something about him seemed... Off. The Keith that I had seen at school was a totally different person than the one standing in front of me. "Do you know where you are?" He asked me.
I scoffed. "Sure, Bozo. We're in the magical kingdom of Aloria where strapping people against lab tables is considered a compliment to their well being!"
Keith swirled back around to face me, a scowl imprinted deep into the corners of his lips. He staggered towards me, his movements more ragged than normal, and jutted out his finger at my face.
A crazed laugh escaped his lips, causing me to repel, pressing myself harder against the table. "You've got something Master wants," he chuckled. "Something in your eyes."
I felt my heart rate speed up as I stared at him with bugged eyes. "W-what do you mean?"
"Oh don't even pretend you don't know."
"I don't!" I lied.
It must have been pretty convincing because he turned around and began to mutter something under his breath. While he was distracted, I took this moment to scan the room for any signs on how to get out. It looked as if I were trapped in some sort of abandoned laboratory.
There were a bunch of tools and devices that crowded every corner in my vision, a giant television positioned just above a giant panel, like the one in the lab, only it was much dirtier.
"Chase," I whispered to myself. Were they watching me through that screen? Wasn't that how spying worked?
"I would explain it to you, but I think it would be better for Master to," Keith said, turning back around and walking over to the cart filled with metal devices and instruments. Like what you would see at a doctor or dentists office, but way more illegal.
"What are you doing?" I asked, my voice turning frantic. "Keith? Keith!"
He took out what looked like a remote and hit a button on the left side. I felt gears shift against my back as a loud clang rang out through the building. Next thing I know, the table I was pressed down on was raising up, pushing my body forwards a little, to a slanted standing position. I felt like Frankenstein's monster, to be honest.
Keith, who had been eerily silent, turned back to his cart and ran his hands along a cord, making sure it was connected to a giant tank with warning labels stamped all over it. "What are you going to do to me?" My voice was shaky, much to my distaste despite the fear racing through my veins. "Davenport won't let you get away with this," I threatened.
"Oh, but they will," a new voice laughed from the other end of the room.
My eyes flashed to the direction of the voice. There was a tall man, all dressed in black, standing against the panel below the TV screen. He looked like a normal man dressed for a funeral, except his head... "Have you ever tried Match.com?" I asked him, acting before thinking.
The man froze to stare at me, giving me that are-you-crazy look. "What?" He asked, focus momentarily distracted from the whole kidnapping business.
"Have you ever tried Match.com," I asked. "And if so, did you find any luck? I mean, with a head like yours-"
"Shut up!" He cried, cutting me off. "Do you know who I am?"
"I'm guessing not the Queen of Liberty," I joked weakly, sliding down against the table.
The man, I knew he was Krane, ignored my comment and punched a few buttons on the panel. A few short seconds later, the Davenports in their living room filled the screen. My mouth opened slightly as Chase, Adam, Leo, Donald, Bree, and Tasha appeared.
"Blue!" Adam, Bree, Chase, and Leo cried in unison.
I felt tears pool in my bottom lid as I sensed Keith grab something huge off of the cart, holding what looked like a pair of tubes in each of his hands. He paused near my head, as if waiting for command.
"Let her go, Krane," Mr. Davenport said through the screen. "And no one gets hurt."
"Oh, I think that's already on the agenda," Krane laughed. The sound of his laughter made me sink down further on the table.
"Blue," Chase called, pushing Adam and Bree out of his way to get a better look at me. "Are you alright?"
"Sure," I smiled, forcing a weak laugh. "I'm just great."
"But she won't be for long," Krane laughed again. "I think it would get them down here faster if we let them see a sneak peak of the show, don't you think, S2?"
"No," I gasped, not being able to do anything but watch as Keith or "S2" lifted the dangerous looking tubes up and let them hover next to my temples before looking over at Krane again.
"Any last words?" Krane asked, his gloved hand rested on what I guessed was the end call button on the panel.
"Take care of my unicorn for me," I smiled into the camera. Tasha pressed her hand against her heart, Bree had tears in her eyes, and the guys were looking helpless and horrified at the same time.
Turning to Krane, it took all the energy in me to snarl, "do your worst, Metal Veins."
"With pleasure," he waved his hand to Keith and I took one last look at the screen before he pressed the tubes to my skin.
In a split second, unbearable pain collided through my skin, busting through my temples and racing through my veins, leaving scorching pain in its wake. It felt as if though my insides were on fire as I gripped the edges of the metal table and let scream after scream ripple through my lungs.
At some point, my eyes must have started glowing, for moments before I blacked out again, everything had gone the crystal shade of magenta.
...................
Guess what?
I'm back!!! I know it's been a while and I'm sorry I'm such a bad person for not updating, but I'm getting off my lazy butt and writing more for you adorable watermelons.
Quick note, I know that there was another S2 in the actual show, but let's just pretend that Keith's S2 for now, okay?
So, how this is going to play out is we've already been past Marcus and everything, all that happened before they really met Blue. Where we're at right now is just before Krane gets his army of soldiers. I know I kind of started this at a horrible time, but I figured it would give Chase more protective instincts towards Blue so... See where I'm going with this?
Well, new chapters will happen more frequently, now, I promise you.
I love you taco Salads!
No quotes for today, but next time for sure. Have a great week/weekend!
