Twisted
The little boy tugged at his mother's sleeve insistingly.
"Mommy", he repeated, for what seemed like the hundredth time.
"What is it, Shawn?" his mother sighed, finally looking up from her cell phone, mildly annoyed that their food still hadn't arrived.
"What are they doing?" he whispered, looking at the couple across their table with wide eyes.
The mother's gaze landed on the said couple - two young men who were locked in a passionate lip lock, completely oblivious to their surroundings.
"Don't look at them", the mother hissed, and Shawn looked up to see a revolted look on her face.
"I thought only a girl and boy can do that?" he asked, as his eyes betrayed him to fall back on the two men.
"Yes", his mother nodded, firmly.
" They're twisted people, Shawn. Don't stare."
She mumbled something about the restaurant being a family restaurant but the words floated above his head as Shawn's hazel eyes remained glued to the couple, mouth slightly open in fascination.
One of them smiled lovingly at the other and whispered something, making him laugh - a beautiful ringing sound. Surely, Shawn thought, watching the couple laugh, this couldn't be twisted.
Could it?

One glance.
A flirtatious wink.
The dazzling smile.
A cute dimple in his left cheek.
In that moment, Shawn knew he was gone. He was fucking gay.

"Come on, dear", his mother teased.
"We definitely want to meet her."
"Mom", Shawn groaned, out of panic, desperation, fear.
He had had no plans on telling them whom he was seeing but the hickey on his neck had convinced them otherwise.
Damn.
Shawn had told him to be careful.
" At least tell us what she looks like", his father insisted.
" Grey eyes, black hair, pale skin", he mumbled. His gorgeous abs. His adorable freckles. His irresistible lips. His. His. His. Not her.
"Awww look at him blushing", his mother cooed.
"Don't worry dear, we'll find out about her one day", she laughed.
No you won't.
Because there is no her.

" Don't worry", he whispered in his ear, his breath tickling his skin.
"As long as you're there with me", Shawn released a breath, eyes closed.
He softly kissed his cheek, drawing Shawn closer. Shawn turned to the raven head, their noses brushing as their lips brushed. It was a soft kiss, yet deep and meaningful at the same time. It was reassuring, promising, caring.
"I'll always be there for you."

She couldn't find him anywhere. None of his friends knew where he was. They had checked every possible place, called his cell phone about a hundred times and turned the house upside down.
It was dusk. The sun was setting and her hysterical state increasing. She was just about to dial the police when her eyes fell on the fridge.
She ventured towards it, eyes wide as she detached the piece of paper from the magnet, hands trembling so much that she almost dropped it.
Five words. Just five small words.
'I'm sorry mom. I'm twisted.'
