Gender refers to the identification as male, female, or neither.

Cisgender: your gender identity conforms to the sex you were born with (put simply, being born male and remaining male or being born female and remaining female comfortably and acceptingly).

Transgender: your gender identity does not conform to the sex you were born with. Being transgender denotes not being comfortable with your biological sex and the gender society attaches to it. For example, you were born male but mentally feel as though you should be female is and example of being trans.

Nonbinary: your gender identity is neither male nor female, and may be defined as existing in the middle of the two or outside of the spectrum altogether.
