This is a common issue I see being passed around in the world today.

Most people think that being trans* means that you were either born with male body parts but identify as female (mtf/male to female), or vise-versa (ftm/female to male).

However, non-binary/gender-queer/gender non-conforming/etc. genders can ALSO be considered and identify as trans*!

How?

Cisgender: Your gender identifies with your sex assigned at birth.
Transgender: Your gender does not identify with your sex assigned at birth.

It has nothing to do with transitioning into a male or female! All it is is not being cisgender! Therefore, any person who isn't cisgender and identify and be considered trans*.
