Emery's Point-Of-View

"Child, what is your name?" The overly tall, skinny man in the front asks.

He looks at me like I am some type of rare stone. My breath hitches when I see a huge dog walk from behind him. It's the same one the fountain had shown me.

It looks ready to tear me to shreds. I am terrified to move.

The calmness and emptiness in the clearing has me looking around. I didn't see anyone but the five creatures in front of me. Levi and Vartan are behind them. Where have all the townspeople gone?

"Forcas has asked you a question, mortal! Answer him!" The tallest and biggest one yells at me. I jump and take a step back.

Levi and Vartan are at my side instantly. Both of their hands on me protectively. I instantly take a step back. Has Levi and Vartan been over seven feet tall this entire time?!

"Can you feel that?" The woman asks seductively looking at Levi. She massages her neck and runs her hands down her chest and stomach.

Vartan shifts uncomfortably.

"What is it, Enep?" Forcas asks looking at her intrigued. His eyes open a little.

"I believe the mortal belongs to be one of them. I can feel his love for her."

What?! What is she talking about?

"I didn't know a demon could feel such things?" The one with the snake eyes asks puzzled.

Demon?! Who is a demon?

The one in back has a huge grin on his face. He opens his mouth a little. I feel sick to my stomach when he whips out his skinny green tongue. It flickers like a snake. Thick and long.

Enep laughs. "It's an immense love too."

Enep watches as Forcas tilts his head examining me again from top to bottom. She must not like it because she suddenly looks at me coldly. "What are we waiting for, Forcas? Have you never seen a mortal female?"

"Of course I have. None like her," Forcas says looking to the others. "And I want her."

Levi and Vartan let me go simultaneously and walk a couple steps in front of me. Levi's wings open wide, blocking my view of the creatures and for that I am relieved.

"You will not touch her! If you do, I will send you straight back to hell."

I hear Forcas laugh. "It is rational that you would think that. But there are six of us and two of you. Give us the girl and we will disappear from here. Continue living your life, my brothers."

"Never..." Levi seethes.

Then I hear Vartan say something. I don't understand it at first. It feels like his voice is coming from every direction. It's as if he is whispering loud, dragging every syllable of the words he speaks.

Almost like he is reciting an incantation and I understand every word. How did I understand him?

"Tolle eh iilaa il tuo raj."

The way Vartan speaks is beautiful but it starts to hurt my ears. I instantly get a headache and cover my ears. I hear the dog whimper and the others cry out in pain.

Levi suddenly turn towards me, his wings folding back and then towards me. The wind caused by his wings is so great that I am thrown back into the air. Levi dives toward me, catches me before I hit the ground and we shoot up towards the sky!

Levi's hand cradles the back of my head and the other around my back. I wrap my legs and arms around him trying not to cry. I am terrified!

"Nooo!" I hear Forcas scream. "Labos, get her!" It almost sounds like he is yelling through pain which scares me even more.

A huge roar rips through the night sky as we fly back down and into the trees beyond the clearing. We are flying low?! Why?!

I shut my eyes and suddenly don't feel the wind around me anymore as I cling to Levi's neck. All I can feel is his warm chest and I heard my erratic breathing. Are we dead?

"You're safe now, Emery," Levi whispers into my ear.

I don't believe him!I continue to hang on.

Levi lets my head go and massages my scalp. I slowly move my face away from his chest and open my eyes, looking around. We are back in the garden standing next to the fountain.

"What-What was that?" I ask feebly. I can't move and I am so tired.

"Demons. You know how it is whenever you're around me. Never a dull moment." Levi smiles but it doesn't reach his eyes. I know he is as scared as I am.

Those demons want me. For what exactly, I don't know.

Once my feet are on the ground, Levi grabs my hand and we both sit on the ledge. He wings disappear into his back.

I look around a little relieved. This was such a long day. So much has happened. I look at Levi when it occurrs to me.

"Vartan?!" I yell standing up. He was left with those things. No way will he be able to fight them all.

"Vartan is fine. I can feel him. As soon as we left Labos went after us. He was able to knock him away." Levi stands up, grabbing my hands.

"Labos?" I repeat.

"The dog," he says. "They somehow escaped hell and want to live freely like my brother and me."

I suddenly remember something.

"That's right! Your fountain!" I forgot to tell him what I saw.

"Excuse me?" He asks looking at the water.

"When you told me to come here. I did and everything went dark. I felt like the fountain was calling to me and I thought I had fallen in." Levi let's me go and turns toward the fountain in shock.

I continue. "I was shown them crawling out of a fiery pit in the cornfield. In Des Moines. Where we were! The night you drove into the bushels, remember? Levi, they killed all those angels! Every single one of them! They are dangerous!" I place my hand on his chest.

My heart starts to race again. I feels hopeless and lost. What are we going to do?

"Tu gezi eh an tesla?" He asks the fountain. His words cause a headache and I put my hands to my temple. However, I understand exactly what he said. Again, not knowing how.

"So the fountain can show me visions. It's going replay the same vision for you? The one it showed me?" I ask him clearing my throat. My headache begins to disappear. I shake my head and squint. Why did their words cause everyone around them pain?

I look over at Levi who looks dumbstruck. He takes a step back and looks me up and down as if he is seeing me for the first time. "You heard and understood me?"

I chuckle softly. "Of course! I'm standing next to you. Why?"

"You're not supposed to hear or understand that language. It's the language of the creator. Even you being able to hear it should've caused your head to explode as a mortal." He shook his head puzzled. "What are you?"
