Your POV
"I have a suggestion, my very dear friend!" Hanji shouted with excitement clearly written on her expression and tone when she came back from parking her car into the garage.
"She's loud, ma-chin."
"I know, baby."
Atsushi inched further into my embrace when he spotted 'the annoying lady who always picks him up from his father's house on the weekends' coming closer to him with arms wide open and a scary grin.
"Go away, Hanji. You're scaring him."
"Why are you all so mean!"
Giggling along with Atsushi as Hanji sulks by the couch, I playfully stole the marshmallow from his little fingers with a comical 'chomp', earning a childishly adorable whine from the purple haired boy in my arms as I audibly chew the mildly sweet treat with a smug grin.
These were how my days went by on the weekends ever since that whole cheating ordeal with the man I've been tricked into loving and marrying ; and on the weekdays where I didn't have my bundle of flesh and blood to occupy my distraught mind, I would either drink profusely with Hanji — that would usually end up in a hurricane of emotions pouring out on my side while Hanji drunkenly agrees to everything vigorously — , watch soppy cliche rom-coms next to Hanji as she comforts me in my sorrow, or go to batting cages to release all of the anger and grief I've held in my crumbling heart with Hanji behind the scenes — flirting with some blonde American.
"Ma-chin, I want to play with Bean-chin and Sawney-chin." Atsushi said after finishing his last packet of snacks he brought.
A child should always ask, rather than demanding to the older to oblige by their command. That's what I should've implemented in my child because not everyone is as open-minded, but the way Atsushi just looks up at me with those lavender doe eyes — I couldn't help but let him off the hook.
"Okay, babycakes. " I picked him up and held him in my arms and started to walk towards the backyard where Hanji kept her canines.
They honestly scared the bile out of me when I first saw them a couple weeks ago, as they weren't normal canines but abandoned ( physically ) mutated pups. Despite their hostile appearance, they're actually really just like any other puppies out there, and Atsushi absolutely adores them.
I watched him try to get on top of one of the dogs, but alas, Sawney was still just a tiny little dog ; while Bean just kept running around Atsushi.
I felt desolate, but a smile still played on my lips.
Instead of an obnoxiously laughing Hanji, it should've been a content Levi next to me as we watch our child scurry around with the house pets we would adopt at some time in the future.
White suddenly invaded my vision and it had startled me, just to find out that it was a simple piece of tissue. I took it with gratitude and wiped furiously at my prickling tears, hoping he wouldn't notice.
"Why not try talking to him? I know you miss him." Hanji said softly with her eyes kept glued on the scene in front of her.
"I do miss him. It pains me that I still do, but I won't subject myself to any more of his torture." with a shaky breath, I tried my hardest to suck the tears back into my socket with pure will power.
"He regrets it all, you know. He's a total mess." she said with a shake of her head and a prolonged sigh.
"I know what you're trying to do but I don't want any more of it, I don't want any more of him."
I tried to convince Hanji once more that Levi Ackerman has lost his place in my heart and at the same time, myself too ; but the trembling of my hands and the endless tears rolling down my flushed cheeks said otherwise.

3rd POV
"Hey, bud. How was your weekend?"
Before Atsushi could answer, Levi had swept him off his little feet and into his arms, causing the smaller male to giggle with a huge smile and in return, Levi gave a small smile of his own.
"Fun!" Atsushi replied with a lazy smile with his eyes squinting slightly from excessive amount of smiling he's doing. Chucking a little, Levi went and sniff the kid and immediately recoiled to add to his dramatized way of saying he needed a bath.
"You stink, kid. Go take a bath before I give you one."
"No!" With all the strength his tiny body had, he wiggled his way out of his father's hold and ran all the way up stairs to take a shower, not missing a single beat in his steps for the last time Levi had gave the kid a bath — well, let's just say he did not enjoy any moment of it at all.
Levi adorned a small smirk when he saw how fast Atsushi had scurried his way up to the bathroom, but it was soon wiped away when he saw the stern expression Hanji was giving him from where she was seated at ; but he also couldn't help but notice a speck of pity in her eyes.
"Levi, she's getting impatient."
"For the last time, Hanji, I'm not signing those papers and I never will." he says with a sigh as he feels the familiar wave of exhaustion and utter devastation crash into him once more.
Silence enveloped them like a hug during the winter between two ice-cubes ; it brought his mind into a spiral of spine chilling scenarios of his future if he scribbles his signature onto that piece of paper.
"She still loves you. This much is obvious..." Hanji gazes down at the open-plastic cup of black coffee she made before taking Atsushi back to the Ackerman house. She contemplates on continuing on, but she decides to anyway seeing how she had unintentionally sprouted a seed of hope in him. "...but she doesn't want to. Everyday she's either fighting the emotional agony or letting it out. I'm just afraid that someday, she would lose the battle or let it out differently."
He snapped his head up at her direction with eyes wide and his mouth parted.
"You can sign the papers and treat it as a little push for her to accept reality and heal, or you fix this problem you've created."
"How? Please, tell me how can I fix this..." desperation laced his voice like poison in the fangs of a snake.
"I don't know. That't something you have to figure out yourself."
Standing up and saying her goodbyes, she left the sorrowful male alone with his grim thoughts.
A complete family.
That was what he had worked so hard for to fulfill his dreams of having a complete family of his own to cherish and love, but as you know — it all came crumbling down. What's even more ironic is that it was destroyed by the same man who had built it with his blood and sweat.
"Pa-chin?" His voice rang in Levi's head like an alarm on a serene morning. Levi had been so deep into his solemn thoughts, he hadn't even registered that his own bloody child was calling for him until he felt Atsushi plop down unceremoniously next to his father.
"What is it?" He asks as moves his son onto his lap and starts to help him dry his purple locks with the tiny bear-printed towel Atsushi had around his neck.
"Why is Ma-chin still on vacation with that weird lady?" He asked when Levi was done with drying his hair to the best he could.
Levi couldn't answer, he was lost for words and he couldn't say he cheated on his mother and that she left his worthless ass. Levi is a straight forward man who's more blunt than a butter knife, but even he had the logical sense to not spill the beans on his kid — a child this age ( or any age for the matter of fact ) needn't know of his shameful sins.
"Because...daddy was an idiot and made her really mad." His words were muffled by Atsushi's hair as he had placed his face directly on the swirl of his head, but the words still could be made out.
Although, mad is an understatement of what I'm putting her through.
Levi's pupils dilate as his expressions turns distant with all the made-up scenarios of what he had put you through and how you were dealing with it now. Chills lingered on his skin when he remembered what Hanji had told him earlier about you 'losing the battle' and 'letting it out differently'.
He hadn't meant for this to happen, at least that's what he has been telling himself these past few months to help ( even if it's just by a little ) ease his guilt, but who was he kidding? The second he entertained the other woman, he knew this — all this — would've happened.
Yet, he ignored his conscience and dives head straight into the murky waters of adultery.
Fool.
"But..." Atsushi pauses to turn his body around to face his mentally drained father.
"Pa-chin can make Ma-chin happy again, right?"
Levi swore in that moment where his child was looking up at him with his big lavender eyes, that he had found the solution to his problem in that one simple sentence Atsushi had nonchalantly answered because no matter how many times he had fucked up, you always forgave him because of your unconditional love for him.
The chances were slim to none, but he believed that maybe if he held onto the hope that he could win you back into his ( almost ) monochromic life, he might succeed in bringing his family back to completion and his life back to colours.
With a new found territory of confidence and hope, he gave Atsushi the biggest kiss he had given yet and to that, the child gave back many giggles.
That night Levi couldn't sleep, but what was different about his lack of slumber this time was that he had excitement and joy bubbling within him as if he was a toddler once more for he had spent the whole night thinking of various possible ways to 'fix the problem' ; instead of depression and self-loathing.

The annoying repetitive 'suburban home' chime rang throughout the whole house, forcing you out of your comfortable position opposite of the television to answer the door. You had a gut feeling that it was Hanji for she had forgotten her keys before going on an international business trip yet again, but it was soon proved to be wrong as it was simply just a petite blonde mailman named 'Armin'.
"Hello ma'am. Package for Mrs. Ackerman?" He spoke kindly with that advertisement smile. You knew he meant good, but just by hearing the surname you married into, your mood was immediately dampen and your glare became apparent.
"I am she. " with a menacing grunt, Armin shakily handed over the clip board for you to sign your name and the second he handed over the mysterious parcel to you, he was out of sight faster than Mikasa rejecting Jean's advances.
Sighing deeply as you close the door, a twinge of pity and regret prickled at your heart for scary the poor kid — but what's done is done.
With a switchblade in hand, you cut open the box and what had greeted your sense was the delightful scent of the Arbutus arranged in the most gorgeous way possible to mankind as it was bundled up in the middle with it's leaves scattered around it as a way of decoration.
"But why the Arbutus..?"
Placing them into a vase you found lying around your eccentric little's friend's cupboards, you ran back to the cardboard box and searched vigorously for the person behind these beautiful bunch — but there was no sender's name.
Thee only, do I love.
That was the meaning the flowers held.
Subconsciously, you had hoped it was Levi who was sending you these, hoping that he was trying because he knew he made a mistake and wanted you back instead of continuing on with whoever it was that he was 'fonduing' with — but you knew better than to be pining on these foolish wishes.
•••
The next day was the same.
At the exact time too, 1p.m..
But this time, it wasn't Arbutus, it was pink and red Camellias.
I'll never forget you and My heart is aching for you was what they meant respectively. You were shocked to say the least.
No, it can't be Levi.
That was what you kept reminding yourself, but deep down, you had hoped it was Levi.
You had hoped it was Levi who sent you the Forgot-me-nots the following day which meant True love.
You had hoped it was Levi who sent you the Daisies that meant Loyal love.
You had hoped it was Levi who sent you the purple Hyacinths which meant Sorrow and him wanting my forgiveness.
And you had definitely hoped it was Levi who sent you the bouquet of flowers that meant I can't live without you ; Primrose.
But all hopes and dreams dissipated when you remembered what he did to you.
But he's sending me these flowers as an apology!
But I don't know if it's even him!
What if it is?
But what if it isn't?!
You groaned out loud as you buried your confusing head in your hands.
It was bad enough that the flowers and the anonymous sender had disrupted your thoughts at Hanji's home, but now, even at work you got them.
Who sends flowers to a flower shop owner?! You laughed out loud as you banged your head onto the desk, nearly tipping over the vase that held the red roses.
Your employees looked at you funny but then shrugged it off seeing how you were always a weird one.
"Welcome to Maria Fields, Mr. Ackerman! Your wife is at the counter. " you heard Christa chirp like the happiest person alive and stood up abruptly.
Shit! Was the only syllable chanting in your head like a tribal dance while you frantically tried to find a place to hide.
"If you're trying to hide from me, at least do it before I arrive. " Levi smiles a bit as he watches you freeze up.
His heart pounded as he finally saw you after months away from you. Months away from your womanly figure, your beautiful (e/c) hues, (h/c) tresses and plump/thin pink lips.
If he was asked to describe you in this moment, the word Ethereal wouldn't even begin to describe your goddess-like beauty.
"Uhm...hey, I guess?" You squeaked out and tried to look nonchalantly at the table as much as possible but you only ended up looking awkward.
He sends a nostalgic smile at you, seeing how nervous you were.
But you didn't even bother to look up at him as all this was just too sudden for you.
You weren't prepared for this.
You weren't prepared for him.
And you sure as hell wouldn't want to be right now, so you ran out.
"Christa! Take care of the shop for me!" You yelled to her as you passed her confused figure while Levi just stood there stunned.
But as soon as he registered what had happened and started to chase after you.
"(Name)! STOP!" He yells after you while rapidly catching up to your panting form.
Curse his athletic form! You yelled in frustration as you made a sharp turn around the corner, hoping it would lose him but all you did was slip under the suspiciously wet pavement.
"Shit!" You hissed out in profanity as you close your eyes and held your hands out to prevent an impact on your face.
But cliche-ly, none came as you felt a pair of arms wrapping themselves around your waist tightly.
"Be careful, brat! You could've hurt yourself!" Levi scolded you like a mother would to a naughty child, but instead of feeling guilty, you just started to chuckle.
Levi had held you upright while his hands never left your waist but still kept a distance, and looked confusedly at you as your chuckle developed into full blown laughters.
"(Name)...?" Levi said cautiously as your laughter dies down.
"Oh, that really cracked me up! How can I hurt myself, if you already did that for me?" You gave him a forced lopsided smile as you finally looked at him in the eye.
Those eyes that you could never stop staring into, and that pair of thinly shaped lips that felt like hot chocolate on a winter day.
It had made your cheeks heat up and your heart beat faster again. Then it all came crashing down yet again as did Levi when he heard your response.
Both of you were quiet as you started walking, with him on your left.
I had to deal with this sooner or later anyway. Was what you tried to reassure yourself so you won't run away like a child again.
You didn't know where you were walking to, but you didn't want to stop either.
As did Levi.
"Were you the one who sent me those flowers?" You pipped up after a long silence with just Levi occasionally glancing at you.
The part of you that still held onto him had wanted him to say yes but the part that wanted to move on needed him to say no.
But deep down, you knew the part that trumped the other was the undying love for this cruel man.
"Yes..." Levi replied rather shyly and couldn't help but look in another direction, afraid that you would see his blush.
Although you didn't because you were busy mirroring his actions.
If there was one man to ever make you blush like a lovesick teen, it was Levi. But Levi was also the same person to incinerate your entire heart too.
"Stop all these useless notions, Levi, and just sign the papers. " you spoke up again after feeling that familiar thudding in your chest.
"No, I won't. " Levi huffed stubbornly as he shoved his hands into his coat pockets.
"Why the hell not?! And shouldn't you be sending them to your woman instead of me? " you stopped and just stared at him with tiredness and hurt displaying in your expression.
Levi didn't know what else to feel except that familiar rush of guilt and regret coursing through his entire body and mind.
"You are my woman! At least, I hope for you to be again..." Levi had unintentionally raised his voice to prove his point but nonetheless he looked at the ground with trembling hands.
"Real funny, Levi!"
And you laugh uncontrollably again while Levi felt his chest tighten and his throat get dryer as he stared at your giggling figure.
"It's not a joke! " He says with a pained expression while yours hardened.
"Every part of this is! " you yelled at him as tears start to collect in your eyes.
"What you're doing now -the ridiculous flowers with the meanings they hold- it's all just one big joke!" You let the tears slip out of your eye sockets to run down your cheeks as you yelled at his heart broken being with your own broken heart.
"So hurry and tell me the damn punch line, because I'm really curious to know if you think all this will ever lead me to forgiving you. " you spat with hate and betrayal laced in every single one of the words you spoke to him.
"Yes, but I see it's not I fucking working. " Levi said, trying to sound nonchalant but his eyes had betrayed him as they had showed not only heart break, but deep regret too.
But you didn't care, you wanted to hurt him as much as he had hurt you.
"Of course it's not working! Do you want to know why?!" You mimicked his tone as you ignored all the stares.
"Shut up! I know what I did, okay?!" He shouted at you with his own tears collecting at his waterline while his hand started to clutch his shirt tightly.
"Every millisecond of it, I rue the god damned choices I made that broke us apart! I love you so fucking much, it drives me insane! And if I had the power to, I would go back in time and hit myself in the sack before I ever even think of doing this...this atrocity to you..." He finished with a whisper that held so much of all his pent up emotions whilst his tears started to run down his cheeks as he holds his eyes on yours.
"So why did you...?" You asked with a soft tone filled with emotional pain.
You didn't give him a chance to respond as you continued on.
"Was it because she was younger? Or because she had immeasurable beauty? What was it, Levi? What the damn hell was it that made her better than me?!" You screamed at him as your knees finally buckled and landed yourself on the ground with a thud while you continued to cry.
"It wasn't you or her!" Levi shouted back with the same velocity as he kneels downs to your height.
"It was entirely my fault! I got greedy, I got selfish, I let my dick think instead of my head and I just...I made the worst choice ever in the history of mankind! I want to take it back, I wish I could take it back! But please, I know I can't undo what I had done so one more chance. It's last thing I'll ever ask for! " he pleads as he engulfs you in a tight hug.
His hug, you had missed it so much. The way it would provide full coverage warmth that just sends tingles to your whole body.
But you couldn't, right?
"Levi-" you said while placing your hands on his chest in attempt to push him away.
"One last date! Just, one last one. If you still don't want anything to do with me after the date, I'll-I'll sign the papers and leave your life alone! " he begs as he tightens his hold onto you as if it would've been the last chance he would ever get to embrace you again.
You both sat there on the ground for what seemed like eons with him savoring every moment of you in his arms while you contemplated your choices as you unconsciously lean into his embrace.
One part of you screamed to reject him because once betrayed, he should never be trusted again.
While the other part of you had also screamed to accept his sincere offer because he is still the man you married, love and created a family with.
So which side should you choose?
Be independent and never see Levi again or learn to trust him again?

Ugh that took fucking longer than I thought.
IM SORRY KUNKUNEK OTL QAQ
SO AS AN APOLOGY
PLS ACCEPT THIS OMAKE
Edit : I REALLY didn't want reader to get back with Levi, but y'all seriously wanted this ending too much 😂
🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
Omake :
A gun to your head and a knife to your son's throat — if you were ever forced in that way to admit that Levi had you swooning over him once more like some hormonal adolescence, you would.
The air of confidence he exuded around him as he held himself proud in his finest suit and cravat with his hair slicked back, the subtle waft of his masculine cologne that brought your mind to a halt, the gorgeous bouquet of (f/flowers) he had so graciously gifted to you the second the door was opened, the way he tenderly gazed at your beauty whenever he had the chance to as if it was the last, the gentlemanly mannerisms he exampled— complimenting your efforts, holding the door for your entry, pulling out the chair for you — , the lively chatters he wholeheartedly engaged in — it made you melt seeing how much effort he was investing into fixing the relationship.
It felt as if you've gone back in time, back to the very first date you had with said man — except better.
Although, your's and Atsushi's life weren't at stake here so you wouldn't ( admit ).
"So, how are you enjoying yourself tonight?"
Levi's voice was soft as he pops the question out of no where during the peacefully quiet walk in the heart of the exact park where the both of you had been coincidentally jogging at the same time for 2 months until he mistakenly accused you of stalking him out of the blue one day, which had led your impression of the 'nameless hot guy' to drip red.
That anger didn't last long though as after a few days, he had apologized and treated you to a cup of (f/drink).
"Good." you replied looking down at the pavement, choosing to concentrate on your moving feet rather than the fact that your blush was even brighter than neon. Something that Levi took great pride in as it had been almost a year since he had been able to bring out anything but sadness from you.
Okay, maybe you would admit that you had a good time but not in detail — obviously.
A crooked little smile tugged at his mildly chapped lips as he breathes out a silent breath of relief that he hadn't screwed up his last chance at grasping back his happiness. Feeling a surge of confidence and adrenaline coursing through his brain, he took ahold of your slightly cold hand.
The little smile broke out into a gratifying, toothy grin when he felt your fingers latched around his larger ones ; but all seriousness kicked themselves back into his system. Levi stops his movements — all too rigidly in your opinion — and looks at you dead in the eye, which startled you quite a tad bit.
"(Name)..." Levi says with unyielding determination as he took ahold of your other and turned his body around to face you completely.
Looking at him with wonder, you had hoped that he hadn't changed his mind abut wooing you back into his life and completing your little family once more because if he did, you had half the mind to slap him right then and there and then take Atsushi away from his indecisive life ; but every horrible thought was pushed away into the incinerator as Levi spoke the following words.
"I...I truly am sorry for what I did, and I know I have a lot of work to do in order to gain back your trust and love, but please know that I really do love you and only you. I swear to make it up to you, all the hurt I've caused you to be forgotten, and most of all, be the man you fell in love with — not the man who ruined you. "
Levi was not one to cry, let alone show much emotion at all ; but even in that moment, he couldn't control the tears welling up at his eyes the minute he saw yours cascading down your cheeks.
What happened next had rendered him speechless— but thankful— as for the first time for months, you had been the one who engaged in skin ship with Levi and this time, he didn't even have to force you as you sprung a hug on him.
"Don't ever fucking do that to me again!" you said with a sniff. Your words were muffled by your sobs but he still understood them nonetheless.
His hold around your hysterically sobbing body tightened as happy sobs of his own was made audible to your ears, leaving you to believe that he had sincerely regretted what he had done to you and is now genuinely relieved.
"I promise, I'll never ever hurt you like that ever again. "
He never truly did after that day.
