Third Person POV
"Is grandma here?!" A newly six year old exclaims from the bay window, desperately searching. "Not yet, Lizzy." Her frazzled father picks her up, still trying to help change her clothes. "What about (f/n)?" She smiles up at him, raising her arms. "She should be here soon, too." The father throws her pajamas over his shoulder then helps her step into the lilac dress she chose to wear. "Can you go brush your hair while I finish decorating?" He asks of her. "Okay!" She smiles at him, running to her bedroom to rake a brush through her messy, dark hair.
Lizzy's birthday party was almost set up, besides the few stray princess decorations, and plastic dinnerware that had to be set out on the counter. Before long, the man's mother had arrived, letting herself in. "Grandma!" Lizzy shouts when she heard the door close. Kuchel kneels down and catches Lizzy who came flying out of her bedroom to hug her grandmother. "Hey, mom." Levi greets, holding a box of plastic cutlery. "Hello, my boy. How are you?" The older woman smiles at her son. "Besides being stressed out over getting this house set up by noon, I'm okay." He answers. "Let me help out." The mother offers, letting go of Lizzy.
Eventually, guests started to arrive and thankfully, Levi had finished setting the house up before their arrival. All of Lizzy's closest friends had showed up, the group heading out to the backyard to play while Levi ordered lunch for everyone. After getting off the phone, a knock was heard on the front door. Getting up from the table, he goes to answer it. "Hello, Mr. Ackerman." A familiar (hair color) girl smiles on the other side of the door. Levi feels butterflies in his stomach at the name, moving aside for her. "Hey, (f/n). Thanks for coming." She comes inside and wraps him in a hug. "Thanks for having me! I'm sure not only the birthday girl is excited to have me here." (F/n) grins, sending a wink at him. "Oh, yeah, definitely." He nods, still trying to get used to her flirtatious side.
"Speaking of, where is the birthday girl?" (F/n) asks, respectfully removing her shoes. "She's in the backyard with her friends." He shows her towards the sliding door to the patio. "I'll tell her that you're here, you can set your bag down anywhere." The (hair color) nurse nods, putting her bag on a barstool. Before she knew it, a shouting girl came running in the house, tackling her in a hug. "(F/n)! (F/n)! (F/n)!" She exclaims. The older girl chuckles, hugging her back. "Hello to you, too, Lizzy!" She smiles, fixing the raven's hair that got disheveled. "Hi!" She giggles, still hugging her tightly. "Did you miss me? I missed you!" Lizzy nods, not wanting to let go. "Hey, I brought you a present but you'll have to wait until later to open it." The nurse whispers, making Lizzy gasp and let go. "Really?! Okay!"
When Lizzy finally got off of (f/n) and ran outside, she zipped past her grandma, making her gasp. "Goodness, that kid is fast!" She laughs softly, spotting the new female crouched on the kitchen floor. "Oh, hello!" (F/n) looks up and smiles, immediately recognizing who this woman was. "Hi! I'm (f/n)!" She gets up off the floor to shake her hand. "You're the girl my son has been seeing?" Kuchel smiles, shaking the girl's hand. The (hair color) girl nods, smiling bigger. "That would be me! I'm assuming you're his mom? You two look like twins!" Kuchel chuckles with a nod. "We get that a lot." She grins, glancing over at her embarrassed son. The three decide to take a seat at the kitchen table and talk before Lizzy and all of her friends come running into the house for lunch.

Lizzy was having the best birthday party in all her years. She hasn't been able to celebrate with a mother in years besides her grandmother, but it was never the same. She introduced all her friends to (f/n) as her future mommy, making her laugh and say, "Maybe one day." After lunch, Lizzy opened all her presents and was the most excited for what (f/n) had gotten her. The nurse hands her the gift, sitting beside her to watch her reaction up close. "Now... it might be a boring gift for a six year old but I hope you can enjoy it." The woman disclaims while the young girl starts ripping apart the pink polka dot wrapping paper. Tearing off the last corner, Lizzy turns the object around and scans over the front with a growing smile. "What is it, Liz?" Levi asks, holding up his phone as he records. "Look!" She smiles, turning it back towards Levi and the others to see. Holding it up, Levi recognizes it. A framed picture he had taken of (f/n) and Lizzy when they had a picnic a few weeks ago. "This way, whenever I'm not here, you can always see me." (F/n) whispers with a grin, hoping Lizzy liked it. "Thank you, (f/n)!" The girl gently puts it down to tackle the woman in a hug. "You're very welcome, Lizzy." (F/n) hugs her tightly, holding her close.
That night, after everyone had gone home, Levi hung the picture from (f/n) above her headboard so whenever she missed her, she could look up and see (f/n). Lizzy laid down and her father read her a story, kissing her forehead and wishing the little girl one last happy birthday as he tucked her in. "Goodnight, Liz-bug. I hope you had an awesome birthday." He says quietly, earning a nod from his daughter. "I had fun!" She smiles, holding onto one of her new stuffed animals. "That's good. I'll see you in the morning, sweetheart." He got up and turned the light off. Lizzy tilts her head back and looks up at the picture hanging above her bed, grinning. "Goodnight, (f/n)." She whispers.

"Levi, you didn't have to get me this!" A woman gasps, looking down at a (gold/silver/rose gold) necklace with a(n) (insert your birthstone) charm shaped in a(n) (insert preferred shape). "It's gorgeous." She whispers, looking up at the man who gifted her the necklace after. "You deserve it, darling." He responds. She smiles and thanks him, carefully taking it out of the box for Levi to help put it around her neck. "I had a wonderful birthday, thanks to you two." (F/n) hugs the two other Ackermans, pecking Levi's cheek. "We're glad we could make it special for you." Levi looks into her eyes then down at Lizzy. "Happy birthday!" She says for the hundredth time, making (f/n) laugh. "Oh you guys... I love you two." (F/n) whispers. Lizzy smiles and then runs off to grab something. "Where are you going, Lizzy?" She asks. "There's one more gift. This one is from Liz." Levi answers.
Lizzy comes running back out with a rectangle-shaped gift, wrapped in shiny (favorite color) wrapping paper and topped with a sparkly white bow. "What have you got there?" (F/n) hums, sitting on the couch and waiting. "I want you to have this! It's a surprise!" Lizzy hands it to (f/n), bouncing with excitement. The woman peels back the wrapping paper, gasping once she was able to see what it was. "Oh, Lizzy..." She cracks a wide smiles, pulling out the same framed picture she had gifted to the girl over two years ago. "Open it up!" (F/n) turns the frame around and removes the back, seeing that there was a paper behind the actual picture. "Did you write me a letter?" (F/n) glances up at the young girl with a grin, seeing her nod in response.
(F/n) pulls out the letter, beginning to read it out loud. "Dear, (f/n). You are the coolest person I know besides my daddy who always plays princesses, doctor, and dress-up with me." (F/n) quietly chuckles and looks over at Levi with a smile before continuing. "I'm so glad I get to have an even cooler step-mom who I can also play with when my daddy can't. It's a lot of fun when we have movie night and we watch all my favorite movies, even if daddy falls asleep. You stay up the whole time! I am so lucky to have the coolest step-mom in my school. She is smart, funny, nice, and does my hair better than daddy. I love you, (f/n)!" (F/n)'s cheeks begin to hurt from all the smiling she has done throughout today, looking up at Lizzy and thanking her. "You're so sweet, Liz. I love you." She whispers with glossy eyes. "You didn't read the bottom!" The little girl points towards the end of the letter. (F/n) looks down and finishes. "Will you... adopt me?" She reads out, sniffling as she looks up at the girl again. "Lizzy..." She says quietly. Lizzy fidgets with her hands, waiting for an answer, glancing towards her dad with nervousness. "Of course I will." The woman nods, making the raven girl gasp and jump into her arms. The corners of Levi's lips turn up slightly as he watches his two girls. "Does this mean you're my mommy now?" Lizzy asks with curious eyes. "Of course." (F/n) and Levi answer in unison.
