« Chapter 41- Putting the Pieces together »
3rd Person's P.O.V
It's been a week since the siblings started on spying on their long lost relatives. And so far, Titus started to adapt on their way of living while Hazel push all interactions from the other Braugstein away. She doesn't want anything to do with them and her mind is fully set on her mission. The sooner it ends, the sooner she gets back to the headquarters. The sooner she'll be with Levi again.
"Hazel-san! Why don't you want to talk to me?" Sarah asked as the latter ignored the younger blonde. They are helping out Bobby in his shop as waitresses and so far, Bobby's costumers increased with Hazel's charm. And the latter didn't seem to like other men looking at her.
"Because you're annoying," Hazel bluntly said, taking a trey of food towards a table where a man asked for her name, "Suhka Dikh."
The other customers laughed at the man who asked her name as he blushed in embarrassment. Hazel went back to the counter where Sarah is raising an eyebrow at her.
"You should really be nicer to other people. No one will like you if you're like that," she said as Hazel side glanced at her. Now, that just hit her nerve.
'Levi likes me,' she suddenly pushed the thought away and clicked her tongue.
"Tch, who asked your opinion, brat?" Now, that just made her anxiety of Levi worst. The brat part. Sarah pouted and she took Hazel's hands.
"I know! How about we have a girls' day out? We could explore around camp and at the same time, be able to make you show emotions!" Sarah suggested and Bobby arrived, wiping his hands.
"So, what cha doin, girls?" He asked and the two turned to him.
"Can we have a girls' day out? Hazel-san wants to learn to express her emotions," Hazel looked at her with a glare.
"No, I don't," Hazel plainly said, but the two didn't seem to care.
"Okay, girls. You've worked hard, you can have a day off," Sarah cheered, putting her hands over her head and Hazel turned to the side and took off her apron.
"Finally, I hate those guys staring at me," she said and walked away though Sarah caught her by the wrist.
"Oh no! You're coming with me! I'm gonna be your emotion mentor and your matchmaker!" Sarah said and dragged Hazel outside the bar. Much to the men's dismay. The younger blonde dragged Hazel towards a shop and they entered.
"Aunt Eliza! We got a new customer!" A woman with dandelion colored hair and emerald green eyes, similar to Hazel's came out of a door and looked at them.
"Oh! She looks lovely, Sarah!" She asked and approached the two, "You're really cute for a teenager!"
"I'm not a teenager! I'm 29!" Hazel growled and the woman's eyes widened and squinted them.
"Oh really? Well, you're one beautiful 29-year-old! Say, what's your type?" Hazel raised an eyebrow as she looked at Sarah.
"Oh, Aunt Eliza is a know matchmaker in camp. Just say your type in guys, and she will simply pick a guy for you!" Sarah exclaimed and Eliza nodded.
"I thought you're the matchmaker here?"
"Not really, I'm just gonna be Aunt Eliza's assistant," Sarah said as Hazel rolled her eyes.
"I'm out of here."
"Ops! No way! Just say your type already!"
"Tch, fine! I want a person whose not annoying, not cocky, serious on his work, and not a blabbermouth! Okay, happy?" Hazel suddenly snapped, glaring at Sarah who started to tear up. The older Braugstein looked away and walked out the cabin.
"Why does she hate me? I'm just trying to be friend with her," Sarah sniffed as Eliza rubbed her back and tried to calm her down.
Hazel walked towards the library and took out the book containing the different generations of Braugstein and tired to a certain page. She stared at the photo of her father's previous family with a blank expression, but her mind is full of questions.
"So...you know Eduard?" Hazel widened her eyes and turned around to seen Harry standing there. She cursed herself under her breath, regretting that she lower down her guard. She might get caught on spying.
"Why do you care?" Hazel asked coldly as Harry took the book from her and turned to the family picture.
"Because Eduard's my older brother that was separated from me," Harry said smiling, "He was a good brother. Very caring and thoughtful. He always looks after me, but... He spent lesser time with me since he joined that damn Trainee Squad."
Hazel looked at him with speculating eyes. Trainee Squad? She thought his father trained 2 years after she was born. How come Harry claimed that Eduard joined the Trainee Squad during his time in the wall?
"Why was he separated from you anyway?" Hazel asked, "I'm just curious."
"Well, during the rampage, Eduard, Father and I are in different places. Eduard is with the trainee squad while father is farming. I was the only one left in our house when the Military Police Brigade started to do their job."
"What is the real reason the clan was drive out?" I asked, looking down.
"Because they knew--"
"If they really knew that, why didn't they drive out Eduard with you? If he's been training, the Military Polices might have known he was also a Braugstein," she said, looking at Harry in the eye.
"You're one clever woman, aren't you, Hazel? I like that," Harry said, putting the book back in the shelf, "Why are you so curious about the rage?"
"If I'm gonna live here with my brother, I better know that we're secure here. That no one will get us here," Hazel lied.
"Well, then. The clan was never drive out of the walls because they knew about our powers," Harry said darkly and turned to Hazel who kept a blank expression, "They drove us out because we grid to kill the royal family."
Hazel widened her eyes and took a step back, "Kill the royal family?"
"Yes, the monarch has always been bad towards its citizens. No one dared to stop them so we made the initiative, Eduard didn't know about this because he as training and he lost his memories about the family. All he know now is that he's a human livestock inside those shitty brick walls," Harry explained, cornering Hazel on the library's wall.
"Now, are those enough information to tell the Survey Corps?" Hazel's widened and she bit her thumb by instinct and transforms, destroying the library. Titus who was with Michael, collecting herbs, glanced at where the explosion came from and saw his sister in her titan form. Hazel glanced at him and sent a message.
"Shit! He knew!" Titus exclaimed. Harry came out of the debris with blood ticking out his head and glared at Hazel.
"Everyone, don't let Hazel get away! She's a soldier of the Scouting Legion!" The others gasps and Titus growled, tossing the basket of herbs away and ran towards his sister.
"Uncle Harry, we mean no harm! We just want to know why you're here! We don't want to hurt you!" Titus tried to reason out, but Harry glared at Titus.
"Your sister already know why we're here so no reason to play Mr. Nice guy. Everyone! Get them!" Harry ordered and the men of the villages transforms into titans by injuring themselves. Harry transformed last, glaring at the siblings.
'Titus, go to Commander and inform them of what's happening! Now, go!' Hazel ordered his brother who looked at her with teary eyes.
"But, Nee-chan--" Hazel roared at glared at Titus in her titan form as Harry tried to punch him but missed.
'Titus! Obey me, brat! I don't want anymore lives of the people I care about go!'
Titus looked at his left and saw Sarah, still in her human form, tears flowing down her face. In that week, Titus treated her like a second big sister and Sarah treated him like a younger brother. So, this kind of act made him feel like he's betraying her.
"Gomen," Titus whistled and a brown horse came running towards him. He jumped up and maneuvered the horse to the other directions, leaving Hazel handle the other shifters
