« Chapter 30- Titus' Mistake »

3rd Person's P.O.V

Titus started to get exhausted in fighting Annie as the same goes for her.

"Urrgh! Why do she have to break free from Hange-san's trap?!" Titus thought as he swung his arm towards Annie as she blocked it. They kept on fighting but, something is distracting Titus. The vision he suddenly saw earlier. Normally, he doesn't get those vision like Hazel but she does say something to them to make it possible.

⚡Flashback⚡

It was another training session with Hazel so Eren an Titus went to the clearing, Erwin let them use to train. They know how Hazel hate being late and they doesn't like angering the short blonde woman.

Once they arrived something triggered them to look back and catch two kitchen knife. The two started sweating, realizing if that one sensation they felt was ignored, they could have died.

"Good. You caught it," a familiar voice said jumping down the tree where the knifes came from and saw their blonde teacher.

"N-Nee-chan! We could have died because of that!" Titus said, holding up the knife then his eyes widened when he realized something on the knife.

"Ah...ettoh...this is a rubber knife," Eren uttered bending the real looking rubber knife. (Hahaha! AssClass anyone?!)

"Tch, like I'm gonna kill two people that can be humanity's hope. Hmph, anyway, tell me how you knew there was something flying at you?" Hazel asked the two boys as they looked at each other, like sending a signal that they are thinking the same thing.

Saying it's just a hunch sounds so dumb while saying I just got the feeling it's coming at me sounds equally dumb. But, they have to tell the truth because this woman hates lying.

"Umm...we kinda had a feeling that..."

"--that told us something's after us. We don't know if it was true so we looke-"

'Behind'

The two boys gasped when they heard a familiar voice inside their head and looked down at Hazel.

"Did you just..."

"Our grandfather told me that there are some kind communications used by the titans. Even though the dumbest dog can bark so why not the dumbest creatures communicate? He taught me how to send thought with my mind--" she said pointing to her head to the boys "to other shifters. And for some reason, that's how the Colossal Titan and Armored Titan communicate while in Shiganshina."

"Communicate through minds?" The two boys uttered as Hazel nodded.

"Well, for now, I'm the only one who can do it and the two of you still need extra training to master that. So, when I said dodge, you dodge. When I say block, you block. And if I say kill, kill. I'm more mastered that the two of you. More on the senpai level so you have to listen to me. Though, I can teach you how to master it but, it would need time and it won't go in the time where we have to fight the troublesome girl."

"Uhh, speaking of troublesome. You stopped calling me that. Why so?" Eren asked as Hazel blushed a little.

"Ugh. It's none of your shitty business! Now get to work or I'll skin you alive!" Hazel ordered as the two boys grinned like little kids.

"Hai, tsun tsun," they said in unison.

"Baka yaro! A hundred pushups!"

"Eh?! What did we do wrong?!"

⚡end of flashback⚡

"If Nee-chan really send me that vision, that means she's in trouble. Kussu, even Eren's in trouble. Why do I have to do all the work?" Titus asked himself as two familiar presence were closed by. He threw a kick on Annie's legs, leading to a fall as the two presence appeared behind two buildings. "Thank, God! He answered my prayers!"

"Tch, why do you keep this bitch alive? Skin her!" Hazel said through the link as Titus smiled internally. Having a stoic looking titan that can't smile is nerve wrecking.

Annie stood up and faced the three titans. She was surprised to see Hazel still alive after she leaved a boulder crushing her small body back at the tunnel.

"Now, let's bring this bitch down for good!" Hazel said and the three attacked Annie at the same time, catching Annie off guard and her body made contact with the ground once more. Hazel took a handful of her titan hair and tried ripping down her nape but she hardened it. It annoyed Hazel and started punching her none stop.

"How am I going to tell Nee-chan my plan? Urgh! I still can't do the link and she's busy on beating Annie!" Titus said as he looked around and thought of a plan. He looked at Eren and he returned the gaze. Titus pointed to the flat terrain nearby and Eren seem to understand it and run towards it.

Annie then noticed this and returned Hazel a punch on the face making her fall.

"Tch, stupid bitch!"

Annie stood up as her face healed and run to Eren at the same time. Hazel looked at Titus as he nodded and she get what he was telling her.

"If we can't rip out her nape, we have to fight her to do it! Nice thinking, Titus!" Hazel said through the link and they followed the two titans. They all met on a flat land ad position their selves into a fighting stance.

After a few glances, they started fighting. It was not like the fight back at the expedition, it was more intense. It was never like they were tired and that earlier was just a warm up. Hazel, Titus and Eren took chances on hitting Annie as she surprisingly keep up with them. Until Annie threw a kick on Eren, followed by ripping off his limbs until he can't move anymore an fall to the ground. It was also hard to heal now.

"Tch, this girl is cleaver. More cleaver than these kids beside me," Hazel acknowledged "But still, not cleaver enough."

Hazel then took her neck and ripped it off, surprising her. "Lowering your guard after pinning down an opponent while his comrades are still up are one of your mistakes, Leonhart," Hazel told her through a link , surprising her.

Annie's titan hair was blown by the wind, revealing the real Annie inside her titan's nape. Hazel smiled internally as she lifted her hand to take the younger blonde but was stopped when Annie's titan turned around and punched her, making Hazel flew a few meters away also knocking down Titus who tried to catch his sister.

"What the--Nee-chan already ripped off her nape! How do she still move?!" Titus asked as Annie's titan nape healed again, covering her with skin and muscles. "She's skilled. Might be more skilled than Nee-chan. I admit that Nee-chan lacks but, it's not fair! She's in the dark side!"

They both stood up and glared at the female titan in front of them. It's no time for cursing or acknowledging her. It's time to fight for justice as both of them launch their selves to Annie and fight intensely. They left Eren there, in unmoved as they fight Annie.

Meanwhile...

Levi rode the horse towards Hange and Erwin, almost surprising them when he jumped down the horse with his ankle injury. Well not just that, he's also covered with blood. Normally, he would wipe it off him.

"Levi, what are you doing here?" Erwin asked as Levi walked towards them as normal.

"Came to watch a fight for kill time," Levi said sarcastically as he looked at Hange "Bring me so I can see them, Shitty Glasses."

"Eh?! Why are you covered with blood? Ah! Ettoh...You're back to normal! What happened?!" Hange asked, freaked out that Levi is acting normal again after the expedition.

"Tch, just take me there," he stubbornly demanded as Hange (which I almost wrote Shitty Glasses) put her arm around the smaller male and maneuvered up the roof.

"Well here we are," she said as Levi watch as three blonde titans fight. Eren was missing so he scan the surroundings for the brunettes cadet and saw him on a building, not moving.

The two titans were now exhausted as Annie's but this girl just won't give in. Until...

Eren then stood up with his body burning and attacked Annie without one leg.

'Seems like Hazel's training actually went well,'  Hange though as the other two helped Eren making Annie not able to attack nor move. They watched them fight till they drop. Well at least Hange does. Levi kept his eyes on Hazel the whole time, not leaving her as a scene flashback to him.

The time Hazel lifted her hand to caress his face. He felt his heart race that time but, ignored it and continued to push the boulder away. At the same time, he ignored the fact that was the first time she touched him willingly since the expedition. He smiled to himself, finding a slight hope inside him. Hope that she might forgive him.

Annie screamed and broke free of the three's grip and run towards the wall and tried to climbed it. Hazel, Titus and Eren run after her as Mikasa cut off her fingers and Annie fell on her back. This time, they didn't let her escape as Eren ripped off her nape and was surprised to see her crying. The siblings have the same reaction as Annie slowly crystalized herself.

When she was fully crystalized, Titus and Hazel dropped her and also dropped their titan body with Eren's.

Levi sighed and he went to them with Hange and Erwin. They got there with an MP cadet trying to break the crystal but failed miserably. Eren finally break free of his titan body with the help of Mikasa and Armin as Titus broke free with Connie and Jean's help.

"Arigattou, Connie, Jean," he aid as the two of them nodded and Titus went to his sister's titan body. He's exhausted, yes but, he wants to see if his sister is alright.

Hazel break free with Hange's help and she was able to stand up but, fainted afterwards.

"Hazel!"

"Nee-chan!" Levi and Titus run to Hazel at once as Hange carry her down the rotting body.

"Shimpaishinaide, she just fainted in exhaustion. Don't get too exaggerated! It's not like she was buried under a boulder," Hange joked as Levi glared at her.

"Well, she was and I'm worried about her!" Levi said making Titus look at him. Hange gasped at what she just heard.

"Ehh?! She was buried under a boulder?!" Hange asked as Titus just look at Levi with suspicion.

"How'd you know?" Titus asked as Levi looked at him.

"Because I'm the one who was with her and helped her," he simply said taking Hazel from Hange but, then winced in pain almost falling down. He was caught by Titus as he took Hazel with him as Levi crouched down, clutching his ankle.

"Tch."

"Wait! You helped her?! You pushed the boulder away?! You know that would make your injury worst!" Titus was taken aback when Hange mention Levi having am injury. All the cadets know about this but, not Titus and Hazel because since the expedition, they didn't have any connections with him until now.

"Tch, I don't care! Hazel was dying so I have to save her!" Levi said, pain is obvious in his voice.

"You ignored your injury to save Nee-chan?" Titus muttered as Levi looked at him. He didn't expected him to hear what he said but, he still heard it. Titus then noticed he was covered in blood "Why are you covered in blood?"

Levi stayed quiet for a while as he tried to stand up but almost fell down when Erwin caught his arm.

"You shouldn't have done that. You could have hurt yourself," Levi stood up straight and yanked his hand from Erwin.

"I'm already hurting myself," he said and walked away. They watch as Levi walked towards his horse and rode it away.

"Levi actually changed a bit since the last expedition. He's always shutting himself from others," Erwin said as Hange nodded in agreement. Titus looked down to Hazel and sighed.

"It's because of me."

The two superiors looked at the young cadet, "If I didn't pull Nee-chan away from him, he wouldn't be like that. He shouldn't be enduring that pain. Because of me...he's like that. And also Nee-chan."

Titus felt a slight guilt about what he said to Levi that night. He was trying to be obedient to his sister that much that he made a wrong choice. He was too obedient that it blinded him. He didn't thought of the possible outcome. And the outcome is he regretting it. Repentance always comes last.

"Don't shoulder the blame, Titus," the young cadet looked up to his female superior who was smiling gently at him "You're a good person and many people believe that. Always remember, sometimes good people make bad choices. It doesn't mean they're bad people. It means they're human."

"Hange's right, kid. You're still young and you're still in a adolescent stage. Everyone makes mistakes in that stage," Erwin said and left. Titus looked at his superiors dumbfounded. They're right. Everyone makes mistakes. No one's perfect...
