« Chapter 14- Other side of Hazel »
Hange's P.O.V
I was in my office doing my researches when I felt my stomach growl.
"urgh! Shut up tummy. I'm still busy," woah! That rhymes! Better start making poems Hange! Hahaha! Anywy. Can't let my poor stomach to be hungry while doing my researches so I decided to get something to eat in the mess hall. But before I got there, something stopped me.
"TITUS!!" Wait! Isn't that, Hazel? I turned around and saw Titus, Hazel's brother, running fast. My eyes widened, seeing him running towards me.
"Nee-chan! I didn't mean it!" he yelled as I stepped back, but I think I was late. Something hit his head making him fall on me.
"AAAAHHH!" He is now on top of me while I lay down by my stomach. "Ouch."
"Ah! Go-Gomenasai, Squad leader! It's--" I opened my eyes seeing Titus on the floor again, unconscious. I swear he stood up earlier. I looked up and saw Hazel glaring intently at Titus. Woah, she's scary. Did she really just did that to her brother?!
"That serves you right for spreading out rumors," Hazel said as I looked back at Titus.
"What did he actually did to make you do that?" I asked. My eyes widened when I noticed something coming out of his head. "My goodness! He's injured!"
"What?" Hazel squatted to see it and he looked at me. "Yeah, he is. Do you have a first aid kit?" she asked.
"Umm, yeah. At--"
"Gimme," she said as she carry Titus. Wait! Is that even possible?! He looks too heavy for Hazel to carry. "Hurry or this brat is dead," maybe he's probably dead now. I just ran to my office and get the kit, then she followed me. She really don't look to be in a hustle carrying him. I gave her the kit and she cleaned the wound and bandaged it.
Looking back, she never did that to anyone. She always trust the healing and aiding to Petra or someone else.
"Tch, this brat is really troublesome,"
"What did he actually did to make you angry?" I asked as she looked at me.
"Spreading false rumors," she simply said.
"What rumor?" I asked and she glared at me.
"Tch, not so important for you to hear,"
"Aww, come on!"
"Nee-chan likes Levi Heichou!!" Titus suddenly blurted out. He wake up so suddenly. Hazel stood up and put her hands around his neck.
"You brat, how dare you spread that false rumor?"
"It's not false! It's true! I saw your drawing!"
"I did that because Petra asked me to!"
"Then why did you hide it?!"
"Because I know you're gonna get the wrong idea!"
"Then what if I did? If you really don't like him then you just say it! You shouldn't have do something rational!" Hazel let go and got out of my office.
"Waoh, what's with that?" I asked as Titus coughed.
"Umm, Nee-chan's in denial again," he said.
"She's always in denial," I said as something popped out of my head. "Hey, your sister almost killed you there. Why do you keep on annoying her?"
"Because I missed teasing my sister. It's been five years and she really changed a lot," he said. I faced him.
"Change? How so? Tell me. Tell me how Hazel used to be," I said smiling. He hummed then nodded.
"Ah, sure. Please listen carefully,"
×Flashback×
Nee-chan is really cheerful back then. Yeah, she could be harsh, but not that harsh now.
"Nee-chan! Tou-san's back! Hurry! Hurry!" Titus said feeling excited at their father's arrival. Hazel, whose still 18 was being dragged by a 4 year-old Titus. She had a wide smile on her face that no one ever seen before.
"Alright alright, Titus," she laughed and stopped walking making the young Titus puff his little chubby cheeks.
"Nee-chan, you're such a meanie. I wanna see Tou-san!" Titus yelled as Hazel chuckled.
"I know, I know. I do, too, but no need to drag me. Come on, let's go," Hazel said and grabbed Titus hand and went to see Survey Corps return. When she saw them, her eyes widened and realized the decrease in numbers of the soldiers.
"Nee-chan, I can't see--" Hazel turned around and walked away "Where are we going?"
"Umm, Tou-san mouthed that he will see us in the house later. Come on,"
She would lie for me not see the wounded and killed soldiers of the Survey Corps. She would always protect me from whatever that could harm me physically, verbally and emotionally.
"Don't hurt, Armin, you bullies!" Titus yelled standing in front of the young Armin and beside the young Eren.
"Hey, you brats, are really annoying us,"
"Yeah, I and what if we don't want to?" they asked as Eren glared at the three bigger kids.
"Then--"
"Then, I'll kick your ass off enough for you kids to go running to your moms and crying," they all looked behind Armin and saw Hazel in a new graduate uniform of the military. The three smiled seeing her.
"Hey, who are you?!" one of the bullies said.
"The big sister of one of these kids you're messing with. If you ever hurt my little brother and his friends, start begging because I don't back away from fight even if you are still bratty little kids who till need mommies to cry on," Hazel said patting Titus' head.
"Yeah, so better run along before my soldier sister beat you up!" Titus said punching the air. The bullies looked at Hazel whose intently glaring at them and ran way.
"Oh yeah! Thanks, Hazel-san!" Eren and Armin said in unison.
"Yeah, Nee-chan! But you could have beat them!" Hazel sighed and squatted down to their level.
"That was not good, Titus," Hazel said putting her hands on Titus' shoulder.
"What?"
"Picking fights with others. That's bad. Same to you two. What if I didn't arrived? The three of you would be beaten up by those bullies," Hazel said as the three looked down.
"We're sorry, Hazel-san," Armin said.
"It was them who started it! We were just protecting Armin!" Eren said.
"I know, but you could just run away,"
"Then they would call us cowards. I don't want that!" Titus said. Hazel sighed and flicked his forehead. "Ouch."
"Then just let them. If I were you, just run and tell me. I'll take care of them, kay?" Hazel said smiling.
For me, Eren and Armin, Nee-chan is the best sister ever. Even Armin and Eren treat her as a big sister. She would always play and protect us. She taught us humility and how to fight. She's our hero.
*End*
"That's why we were really shock when we meet her again. She became cold and uncaring. Not the Hazel we knew years ago. Maybe, the death of our parents really affected her that much. When Armin meet Nee-chan again, he just pretend not to recognize her because he recall her not recognizing him," Titus said as he sat back. Woah, if those are really true, then Hazel really changed alot.
"Is that so? I beg the past Hazel is so much fun," I said and he smiled.
"Yeah. She does. And I want her back," Well, that could happened.
