~Billy Russo~
"We're trapped." His voice was ragged and harsh as he stared at the barricaded door, the only barrier between them and their demise.
"No shit, sherlock." Glancing at the beaten figure behind him, he sighed and strode towards her. That was when he noticed her taking out something from her pocket, something that looked a lot like a panic button.
"OK, who are you calling and why didn't you call them earlier? You know, when we we're being shot at?" Billy taunted, an angry expression painted on his face just as she smirked at him. Her hand came to brush the dark starnds away from her face as the device blinked red every three seconds.
"We need backup. I didn't call him earlier because I didn't think we'd get caught." she explains before giving him a deadpanned face, "But of coarse you just had to trip the alarm systems, didn't you, Russo?"
The man rolled his eyes, turning to look away just as she added, "Trained soldier, my ass..."
"Gemini, if I remember correctly, you said you knew your way around the place!" Billy shot back, she stood up and came close to him, pointing an accusing finger at his chest. If he wasn't so angry, he'd be so turned on. But given their current circumstances, it wouldn't be appropriate. Besides, he doubted she'd feel the same.
"And if I remember correctly, I specifically told you not to touch anything!" Gemini retorts with equal intensity. They stared at each other, neither willing to back down from the argument. And both forgetting that there might be guards lurking around because at that moment, the two heard gunshots from outside.
"Great! Fucking great!" yelled Gemini as she pulled out her katana blade, Billy had both guns in hand, armed and ready to shoot anything that might be considered a threat to him and especially to the infuriating woman beside him.
"In there!" one of the guards had said, dents started to form on the door in front if them, causing them to draw back in fear. This was the end. This was how their lives ended. It wasn't a fair fight, but they would both be damned if they didn't go down in a blaze of glory.
Gemini, in a fit of rage and sadness, with tearful eyes, she turns to Bily and grabs his jacket, pulling toward her, "If my son becomes orphaned, Billy, I swear I'm going to haunt you in the afterlife."
He saw the fire in her eyes, as well as the fear. It wasn't death she was afraid of, it was the fact that her baby might grow up without her; that she might not be alive to see him prosper.
And it was all his fault. He shouldn't have brought her here. He shouldn't have allowed her to go after HYDRA. Now an innocent child night suffer because of him. Just like the Castle kids did...
Is this the kind of monster he'd turned into? The kind that takes kids away now? Is this what Rawlins made him?
Billy could still recall three months ago when Gemini had a gun pointed at his head, threatening to kill him if he didn't stay away from her baby. He could still visualize her tears when she told him of that night, of when he thought they'd conceived something wonderful. Turns out that wonderful being was already conceived and living in her womb way before Billy arrived. All he did was cause her pain.
Then a month later, Gemini comes chasing after criminal organizations that mass produce aliens, hoping to put a dent in them. Billy didn't hesitate to try and talk some sence into her. He tried to convince her to walk away from all this– To just take her son and go as far away from these monsters as possible.
Yet, she refused. She blocked out any of his words and continued to hunt them down like dogs, so he had to watch and possibly help her in any way that he can.
But what choice did he have? She wasn't going to let anyone stand in her way, so the only option was to help her. He couldn't stand the fact that the love of his life would die and he wasn't even there to do anything. Now she was still going to die because of him.
"What the–" they heard some of the men say before they all started screaming in terror. Blasts were heard amongst the gunshots. Blasts which were familiar to Gemini and she couldn't help but smirk when she saw Billy's confused stare on her. The chaos continued and Billy anxiously waited for everything to settle.
Then it went all quiet. Not a peep was made for moments. Russo had held his breath, waiting for something to happen, but he couldn't help to glance at Gemini and ask, "What was that?"
The moment he did, something banged on the door, causing him to flinch and gripped his guns. If Gemini weren't so calm about the situation, he'd already have it aimed to shoot.
A pair of hands– red metal hands pulled apart the door. Billy's dark eyes widened as he gasped in surprise to see the cavalry that had cone to save them.
I-it... It can't be...
Oh, but it was. There he was in all red and yellow. The metal plates covering his entire body as he hovered down to them. Billy had only seen him on TV, whether he was saving the world or at a press conference, but never did he ever think that they'd meet, especially under these circumstances.
"Took you long enough, Stark." Gemini smirked at the metal clad man. His suit opened up and he stepped out, his face set on a deep frown. He was not pleased, especially when he glanced to Russo, then back to her.
With his hands on his hips, he ranted, "I leave you for five minutes and I find you in an abandoned warehouse? Kid, can't you sit still and let me breathe?"
