Kandahar. Man, was that word a pain in the ass. Not just for Madani, but for pretty much anyone who came across it. Now add Dana to the list of people who tried to get some phantom information. Uncertainty wasn't a feeling she liked to deal with, especially when it involves her job.
"I just don't get it. I really don't, I'm absolutely stumped!"
The man sitting in front of her, his bruised face illuminated by the lights inside the diner, sighed as he thought of what to say next. "Listen, kid."
Dana sipped her coffee while looking at him. A frown etched his wounded lips as he hoarsely warned, "Leave the Kandahar case alone. It's not safe for you to go sniffing around that tree. Drop the case and move on."
Disappointment stung her. Of coarse, she expected him to refuse, but part of her wanted him to have that courage to expose the murderers who ruined his life. Dana had high hopes that he would deal with the demons of his past so he could move on into the future. What happened to him was hindering that and he couldn't see it. Or he did and he just doesn't want to move forward...
"Frank, your family was murdered because of that stupid case." she countered harshly, observing how the ex soldier grinded his jaw as he looked away. The pain in his eyes still as evident as the guilt in his heart. As much as it hurt to tell him this, she needed him to give her something to work on. "Innocent lives have been taken because of what they know. I just need info so I can expose the people who did this-"
"NO!" Frank slammed his fist on the table, startling her into complete silence. His breaths were now heavy, eyes filled with rage while he yelled, "You stay away from Kandahar, Dana! I mean it!"
With her breath held, she watched him grab his jacket and moved out of the booth before he momentarily stops. Whatever it was he wanted to say choked his throat. It seemed like a heavy burden on him to remain silent, yet heavier to spit it out. Frank gruffed out, "I don't want you to get hurt."
His thundering footsteps were heard throughout the small diner. Dana's phone vibrates in the pocket of her jacket, which she quickly answers.
"Well?" It was Madani, her partner in crime. Sam's death was a loss, yet it proved to be somehow a good thing. Deana had gained another partner, a friend and a sister. In a short amount of time, the two grew closet than anyone would've ever imagined. The main reason being that they were the only two top female agents and they were both working on the same case.
Kandahar was something they wanted to solve. Because of it, both women lost someone they cared about. Deana lost her partners, Zubair and Sam while Dana lost Maria, her best friend. Cracking this case open would be putting their minds at rest.
"Well, that was a major bust." the dark skinned woman said more to herself than to her friend as she watched him walk away. She heard Madani sigh, "Plan B, it is."

"Whoa, easy there, tiger." Dana smirks, letting her hands gently wander on his bare chest, grazing the faint scars on the skin. The action envoked a soft sigh from his lips just as he brought her hips to his, gripping her waist.
"Don't make me wait like you did last time, Dana." He whispers harshly into her ear when they separated while backing her into the nearest wall.
All wrapped in one, he was everything. Billy Russo was a dangerously addictive sin and she hated herself for being so attached to him. Around him, Dana always felt so vulnerable, yet so safe. In his arms, she felt safest and wasn't sure whether she like the fact that she didn't want to leave him.
Trailing her finger on his chest, she giggled softly, letting his strong hands firmly grip her ass. The action made her heart pound and clouded her mind in a strange haze. "Well, excuse you for being impatient."
"Well, excuse you for being so attractive." Billy mocked huskily, looking down at her with lustful eyes while leaning in to capture her lips in another punishing kiss.
Whatever it was Billy feels for this dark skinned beauty wouldn't fade anytime soon. She was so gorgeous: her exotic features enticed him and held him in place. No matter what he tried, Billy couldn't focus on another woman other than her. He could have her body pressed up against his and he'd still want her closer.
Sure, there was something burning between them. It wasn't simple as lust or desire, it was something much more. Something that had him reeling at the mere mention of her name or the thought of her scent. Something that gave him how that love still exists in the world whenever he looked at her.
Dana didn't realize the power she held over him. Surely, Billy Russo was no good boy that would go to heaven. But he sure would bring down heaven just for her.
(Show's over, people🙈)

"I talked to Frank the other day..." Dana had heard him speak in a hoarse voice, one laced with an unknown emotion. Cold air pricked her skin like knives when he rose from the bed, she sat up while holding up the sheets to stare up at his lean form.
Billy climbs back in bed, taking her hand, looking at her, tears were visible in his dark eyes, which startled her immensely. "Dana, why are you..."
She's never seen him so... So broken, so vulnerable. Like he was afraid of something. He paused momentarily to gather himself before firmly stating, "I want you to stay away from Kanadahar."
A moment passed before Dana looked away from him, then crawled away from him. Her feet landed on the carpet. Even with her back to him, Billy sensed her rage as she asked, "What is so bad about Kandahar that everyone wants me to stay away from?"
She stood up, taking her underwear with her to the bathroom. After getting dressed in those, as well as her leather skirt, she walked back to their room, finding him dressed in just his faded jeans. "Bad shit went down in those days. Bad things that..."
He strides over to her, his hands gently gripping her shoulders. "Dana, you mean too much to me. I don't want to lose you over some death of a guy who didn't know anything."
"Then tell me." She demands while roughly shoving his hands off, eyes burning a hole in his head as she did so. "Tell me everything so I can expose these people for who they really are."
"These people will kill you, Dana!" He shouts, startling her into silence. Desperation was finally sinking into his veins. What he wanted most was to keep her safe from all harm. "Just... Frank's family. I knew them. I knew all of them."
She listened to his breaths as he looked down. Billy knew Frank's family, he knew exactly what happened to them, even before it happened. And he did absolutely nothing to stop it. If anything were to happen to Dana for that mistake... God, he hoped that the Almighty didn't make him pay by harming a hair on his head.
"His wife was my best friend. Dead." he stated coldly, his eyes finally looking into hers. The gaze almost burned her as she stared back at him, a spark of fear igniting in the pit of her stomach as he spat, "His kids? Were like my little brother and sister. Both. Dead."
It was true: Billy loved those children. Yet, now that he thought about it, he didn't understand why he didn't save them. He couldn't fathom why he didn't realize this sooner so that he could change their fates.
Back then, he had no one. He was too arrogant, too obsessed with his own needs to have someone to share his love with. He could've cared less what happened to anyone close to him and wouldn't bat an eye if they got hurt.
But the second he met Dana... The second he laid eyes on her, the second he spoke to her for the first time, he knew there was something special about her. Russo knew that he wanted to know what it was before letting her go. Unfortunately, he got too addicted to her to let her roam free. Not when she was deliberately putting herself at risk.
"And you? I don't know what you are to me, but you are far too valuable to me... I don't want you to end up like them. I'd die before I'd let that happen."
Dana had stepped back when he tried to get close to her. Billy felt as if he was stabbed in the chest when she did so. Tears welled in his eyes and he could possibly hope to regain the trust that he lost because of what she knew. He knew that look. The stare in her eyes showed agony; Pure agony, pure anger and a hint of fear. That was the last thing Billy wanted to see from her. Seeing that fear from her, brought some fear in him too.
For a long time after knowing Dana, Billy became fearful. Fearful for her. Fearful of a Dana-less future because he deserved it for all the pain he's caused. He wasn't just afraid of the future. He was afraid of the past repeating itself, which will cause him to have a future without her.
If anyone asked, he would do anything for her. He would lie, torture and kill anyone who posed as a threat to Dana. He would become the Devil himself if it meant keeping her alive and safe. He would bring down the heavens if it meant keeping her happy.
"Dee, these people... God, no. These monsters have done things that have ruined innocent lives as well as their own. They've taken away everything they ever loved because of what they do. They live with a tarnished conscience, yet they don't do shit to redeem themselves."
He knew that he had just exposed himself. There was no question that she now knew. He felt the trust she had in him drain out like water and despised himself for it.
"Are you...?" she whispered, breaking his heart when tears rolled down her cheeks. "Are you one of them?"
"Yes." His answer confirmed everything she feared about him. Dana held back a whimper while she walked away from him. Billy's heart raced as he followed her, grabbing her arm and turning her to him.
He couldn't stand the thought of letting her leave thinking that he's the monster that her enemies know him as. Yes, he is– WAS that monster. At one point, he was. But he's changed. That part of him got lost or erased when he met her. The indifference and hate in his heart were pushed out by the love growing for this woman.
"Let go of me!" Dana screamed struggling in his vice grip, but he didn't let up. He held on to her forearms, letting her hit him on his face and chest as she cried. "Let me go, you bastard!"
This continued for a few more seconds before he finally had enough. He caught her hands, glaring down at her scared form and kissed her so passionately, it melted whatever negative emotions she felt towards him.
When he pulled away, he didn't hesitate to try and ease her pain, "Dana, I won't hurt you... I won't ever hurt you. But if anything happens to you because of Kandahar, I..."
Wiping away her tears, he took a shaky breath. "I love you too much to lose you."

Pinterest was a big help on that makeout scene, I'm totally ashamed to say that. But I'm not good at writing those kind of...stuff so I had to.
Hoep you like it. The next image will be up in a few days because I haven't gotten around to writing in awhile. School kept me occupied and I just want to run from it, but I can't😣
I'm sorry for taking so long
