First Day Blues
I felt a sharp shove. I wake up to a dim light. I look over at my mom loming over me. "Get ready. We are going to be late." I waited till she walked into the bathroom to roll my eyes. I hate it when we wake up late. Also I hate when I'm late to school. On top of that it's the first day. I roll out of the warm bed and lazily let my feet hit the cold floor. I walk toward my closet and yank a white blouse out of it. I close the door and walk to my dresser. I pull out some blue jean shorts. I head to the bathroom as my mother exits and throw off my p.j.'s. I quickly slip on the clothes I picked out and grabbed my toothbrush. I start brushing my teeth as mom's rock music breaks the silence. I sigh a little bit annoyed. As I spit out the toothpaste, The Sound Of Silence comes on. I smile as I go to brush my hair.
"How ironic." I thought. I put my hair into a ponytail. I debated to put on some eyeshadow and blush on. "If I put it on, I will be trying too hard." I thought. I left the bathroom and passed through the bedroom. I walked pass the kitchen and grabed my backpack off the living room floor. I also grabed my red leather jacket and purse. I went back into the kitchen and walked toward the fridge. I opened it and grabed my lunch box out of it. I turned around and walked to the front door. I unlocked it and stepped outside. After I walked over to the back of the car and opened the trunk, I threw my stuff in it. I closed it and smiled as my dog, Scout, ran up to me. "Hey boy." I patted his head. He wagged his tail and followed me to the front door.
As I walked in mom called to me, "Make some breakfast." I headed to the freezer and grabbed some sausage. After I finished making breakfast, I went back outside to put it into the car. When I came back in, mom and my sister was ready to go. I walked back out with them. We rode to school in a dense silence. When mom parked in her parking spot, I jumped out of the car. I ran to the back of the car to open it. I grabed my stuff and waved my mother and sister goodbye.
I walk up the stairs and into the lobby. I was greated by a smiling face that said, "You're late. Go get a tardy." I frown and head toward the highschool office.
As I walked into the office, many faces looked up at me. I smiled nervously. "I need a tardy."
A big solid lady smiled and said, "Of course." I stared at the white wall until she handed me a tardy.
I walked out of the office with a frown on my face.
