Chapter 13

*Anusha Pov*

"I am missing you." I whispered, hugging him from behind stopping him from arranging the tie.

"I too feel the same, Sha." He whispered, turning around to hold me.

By tomorrow it will be two weeks since he announced his decision about starting the business to the family. Since then he had to work at his father's company until evening and then leave for construction site where a building is being remodeled for his company.

"By the way, tomorrow evening you need to reach the construction site." He informed when I released him.

"Why?" I asked him frowning.

"I will tell you tomorrow. Now, will you smile so that I can go?" he asked, caressing my cheek and I smiled like he wished.

"That smile I enough to give me strength to face all these challenges, Sha." He mumbled pressing his lips to my forehead.

I know, he doesn't say anything but he is more than hurt with his family's distance and mainly Aunty's which became worse after the business announcement.

"Then I will smile 24/7." I promised making him chuckle and finally we both walked out of the room to face as usual silent room with people in it.

While sitting down, Manvi secretly smiled at me and I gave her a nod, still amazed at how much difference there is from the first day to now.

She is completely normal to me, maybe more than before, but the only condition is when no one is around us. I didn't even tell Satvik about it not having any chance of doing so as we stopped discussing about the family when he is feeling hurt like that.

After the breakfast, they left for work while Aunty and Manvi started preparing for lunch. It became an unsaid rule that I will not enter there with Aunty present as whenever I enter into it, she just walks off.

Before I felt the hostility only from her, but now it is from everyone else except Manvi. Why such attitude, I don't know because they don't even know me, right?

Finally, when they finished preparing the lunch and packed it, I closed my laptop I am working on for research regarding new clients whom we can target the moment we start the company.

"Anusha!" Bhabhi whispered when I finally finished another touch preparation based on the recipe I found on the internet.

"Yeah?" I asked, turning around.

"Mom asked me to tell you that after tomorrow, she can't send any lunch for Satvik as he will not be at work." She informed and I frowned hearing her words.

But then just sighed before nodding at her with a smile after which she relaxed and moved to check the curry like every day.

"I still can't believe you are the same woman who cooked that burnt one that day." She said chuckling.

"And I still can't believe you are the same woman who was rude to me." I said back to which her face fell.

"Hey! I didn't mean to hurt you." I said, holding her hand.

"No! I was rude thinking I should be but then my husband admired your work you know. So, I realized I can be normal with you because he is very reserved and if he liked your work, then you must be a good person." She explained and I stared at her feeling shock observing the innocence she has.

"You love him too much." I mumbled and she nodded.

"Yeah! Our marriage was fixed long ago and it was Mom's decision to choose me and I was worried if he will not like me. Actually, I decided he doesn't but then I realized he does like me and was just reserved like I said." She explained with a smile.

"Can I ask you a favor?" I asked and she nodded smiling.

"I want to learn Satvik's favorite dishes like how he used to eat them not the new recipes. Can you give me the recipe's?" I asked and she immediately nodded.

"Sure! I have a whole book of recipe's and I can give you his favorite's." she replied and I smiled at her.

"But Mom shouldn't know, okay? She will get hurt otherwise and I can't do that." She mumbled and I sighed, thinking if I am only being critical about this because everyone is very concerned about her but I am not feeling that much from anywhere.

"I know, she is... she is behaving weird and all but I never saw her like this. She is pushing herself and not getting rest also. She is such a wonderful mother-in-law and I am worried about her." She continued to talk while I calmly listened nodding.

"Okay! I will go and get the book and you can take pictures." Saying that she walked off and I sighed in relief.

I have enough of Satvik continuously saying his Mom is amazing and I don't mind because he should feel like that about his mother, but hearing Manvi saying that she is amazing mother-in-law, it is definitely pinching.

What is wrong with me for her to behave like that? Circumstances? I can understand, but it is becoming too much and I don't see the solution anywhere near the future.

I shook my head, knowing well, I need to just focus on getting the work done for Satvik so that no one will point out he took a wrong decision. I have seen his passion and it was not there even in the meeting rooms when he was working for his Dad.

"Hi!" I said, waving at his friends when I finally reached the building to see everyone are there the next day evening.

"Okay! The work is done except the interior decoration." Satvik started looking at me and his friends.

"Now, I want each one of you to choose which floor you want so that it can be completely yours and you will be dealing with the decoration." He added and his friends immediately chose like brothers fighting making me laugh.

"So, only top two floors are left." Satvik said looking at me.

"Bhabhi! You choose first, don't let him bully you." Jay said, walking near to me along with Yash.

"Okay! I can wish for anything?" I asked, looking at the three of them and Satvik nodded smiling.

"Then, I just want a normal cabin on your floor, Satvik. And let the top floor be turned into a flat." I said and he looked at me shocked.

"Flat? Why?" he asked, frowning.

"Well, I am sure we all will push ourselves hard to make all this success and we need a place to rest. Sometimes we may even have to stay overnight and with tiredness if we travel, it won't be safe, right?" I asked and his friends immediately nodded but Satvik has this blank expression.

"Satvik?" I called him frowning.

"It is your floor and you can do as you wish." He nodded and explained how the floors will be completely named to us as per our choice.

"So, let's start working from tomorrow and let the interior designing do its work. It is better if we have everything in order before all this is ready." He finalized with those words and his friends left after some time.

While Satvik talking to the contractor about the usage of first floor from tomorrow and to get the other's completely ready soon, he just ignored me.

I sat calmly in his car, not saying a word back, knowing well he doesn't have any need to be such aloof and I had enough of aloofness from everyone that I think I can bear even his.

However, it pained thinking all this is so easy for him to get so distant. So, I just kept quite not saying a word back while he drove to the house.

During the dinner, I just lost myself in thoughts about the clients I sorted out whom we can approach immediately as they are in need of fresh ideas.

"Sha?" I heard his voice following me when I continued to climb the stairs ignoring it.

I know he will not follow me to the room and miss the evening arrangement of the family to sit even though he told me no one talks freely anymore and he is just sitting for ten minutes before returning to our room every day.

"Sha!" he whispered the moment entering the room while I closed my eyes with my back towards the door.

I felt him settling on the bed and then he calmly placed his hand around but still I didn't move.

"I am sorry, Sha! I got worried and was lost in my thoughts regarding that." He mumbled, turning me around and pushed my hair away from my face.

"I was worried thinking you got fed up with the distance they are putting with us and thinking of moving to the penthouse." He added.

"I told you what that is for." I whispered, not opening my eyes, feeling shocked that he is thinking like that.

"Yeah! But I also know anyone can get fed up with all this. So, I just..." he trailed off making me sigh.

"Will you be fine if we shift to the other place?" I asked frowning and he stilled.

"No! I can't do that, Sha. They are already hurt by my decisions and I can't do this which will hurt Mom mainly." He replied and I finally opened my eyes.

"Then why would I think of settling at another place if you are not going to do it with me?" I asked, frowning and he stared at me for a few second before pulling me in his arms hugging me tightly.

"Sorry! But next time scold me or something, but don't be silent, Sha. I don't think I can bear that." He confessed.

"Then how can I?" I asked, hugging him back.

"I love you!" we whispered at the same time and then chuckled looking at each other.

In the morning I woke up hearing the alarm I set way earlier than everyday and groaned, but then remembered why I did this.

I glanced at Satvik to see him sleeping and I moved to stop the alarm before getting down from the bed.

After getting freshen up, I raced downstairs and started the work keeping a time deadline and jumped up startled hearing a voice.

"What are you doing here?" Aunty asked and I turned to see her holding milk packet's in her hands.

"I am cooking lunch for Satvik and me and thought at this time I may finish it without disturbing you all." I mumbled and not waiting for her reaction, I concentrated on the stove.

Finally finding the boxes I need, I put the contents and let them cool. Seeing that she actually left the kitchen without boiling the milk, I walked out to see her waiting at the dining table reading the paper.

I cleared my throat and sat down, after which she calmly rose and reached the kitchen, I shook my head and read the paper for sometime before walking into the kitchen even though she is still there starting the preparations for breakfast.

Packing the boxes, I left the room only to bump into Manvi. She smiled and gestured at the carriage I am holding.

"Lunch!" I whispered and she frowned, but then an understanding look passed.

"Bye!" saying that I walked off and reached the room to see Satvik already in the washroom.

"Hey! Where did you go? For vegetable shopping? You should have taken me with you." He said walking out of the washroom finishing his bath.

"I was preparing lunch for both of us." I said, gesturing the carriage and took my towel.

"Sha! You shouldn't have done that. You know Mom will think we are deciding to separate ourselves from the house." He said, frowning and I felt the same hurt.

"For your information, your Mom only informed me that she can't send any lunch for you as you will not be working at your Dad's company. And I am sure she will not like to do it for me also. So, I did this." Saying that I walked off into the washroom ignoring his voice.

I was expecting happiness, but not this from this for sure. To think I wasted my sleep so that we can have home food instead of from outside.

After finishing my bath, I walked out of the washroom to see him pacing the room. Ignoring him I walked into the dressing area and got ready.

"Sha!" he moved hugging me while I stood to fix my hair.

"Leave me, Satvik! Your Mom wouldn't like this also." I said, letting out my frustration and he tightened his hold.

"I deserve that! I... I don't even know what to say and I was not accusing you of anything even yesterday. I was just confessing my worry." He mumbled and his breath on my neck is creating havoc for sure even though I am angry at him.

"Well, then just remember I don't gain anything by hurting your Mom and if something happens unintentionally then also it is not my fault. When she doesn't think me even as her daughter-in-law why would anything I do will hurt her?" I asked, closing my eyes.

"Don't say like that, Sha! You both are very important and I... I don't even know what to say." He mumbled but then turned me around.

Pressing kisses on my eyes and cheeks, he whispered, "Why don't we just stay here and I will show you how sorry I am?"

"Today is our first day." I whispered and he pecked my lips.

"So? Today is also the first day for my wife to get angry? Cooling that anger is more important, right?" he asked and my lips twitched which he knows so well as he pecked the corner of my mouth.

"No! I didn't wake up so early to not use that lunch and not go to work. And this is the only time we will be having home food at lunch." I replied and he sighed.

"No! If you are fine with it, then please continue and you are not fine, then don't do it. But don't stop something because of my stupidity." He said and I opened my eyes to look at him.

"I am still angry but at present it is manageable." I mumbled and he grinned before dipping his head and kissed me making me stumble but he held me tightly.

"Maybe I should get angry everyday." I whispered when he released me.

"Maybe every hour." He whispered back.

"Or a minute and even better a second." Hearing those words he groaned, but pulled me into his arms hugging me tightly.

"Let's go!" I said after getting ready completely and we both reached the dining area to see everyone present.

"Your two week's notice finished yesterday itself." Uncle commented, looking at Satvik.

"I am... we are going for our company." Satvik explained.

I found everyone's surprise and I know even I, am surprised when he got everything done so quickly, but that shows how much effort he had out for everything and for how long.

We finished our breakfast and left the house before them and reached the building where his friends are already present.

"So, before anything, let us decide about salaries. We will not get them until we bag in a a few contracts, but still let us decide." He started and I glanced around the area.

"Sha?" Satvik voice brought me out of my thoughts.

"Your wish!" I said, shrugging but he shook his head.

"Satvik! All this is the dream of you three and I am just here so that there will be not much burden for you guys." I said and they their heads.

"Your work is very important for us, Bhabhi. No clients mean no work, right?" Yash asked and I frowned, not knowing what amount to say.

"Fine! I will just open a joint account and will drop both of our salaries there, you will not have any problem thinking how much I am giving you." Satvik stated and I nodded thinking this is better.

"Now, here is the list of clients whom we can immediately contact." I started and explained why they can be bagged for this.

"Great! We will start it from tomorrow. Now, let's decide on the equipment we need." And the meeting continued.

By evening, we all were tired, but somehow left to our houses. Satvik is just grinning with an excitement and I couldn't help but laugh at that.

"We are going to make it, Sha." He mumbled and I nodded because I know we will.

However, all this happiness got a slight jerk when Manvi silently whispered about an incident that took place today when I was alone in the kitchen drinking water.

"She broke down? But why?" I asked her frowning because I just saw Aunty and she was like every day.

"She packed lunch for all three and then I reminded her about Satvik. And that's it, she just broke down right before me mumbling, 'nothing is same anymore and everything is split'. When I tried to console her, she just shook her head saying, she wished that nothing like this happens but now she doesn't know what to do." Manvi explained while I just stared at her.

"Okay!" I mumbled and the whole night I was lost in my thoughts but then brushed them away looking at Satvik remembering no one is compelling her to push us away and I can't do anything about it without any step from other side again.

I did enough in the beginning but knowing well I will be fault at everything, I can't try that again. I shook my head and slowly drifted off into sleep with a promise of giving her best to Satvik's dream and fulfill her passion to show she can be on her own.
