MY TREASURED DAYS WERE OVER. The first thing that would come to your mind was me dying, but I was exhausted and I had to go to work. Now that firm was more interesting when Munira was still working there, before she decided to open her own firm. So it was just me, Halima and drama.

Now Munira and I are from completely different backgrounds. Munira was the only child treasured by her parents who might I add are wealthy and retired, they showered her with whatever they could offer her.

So after going to study in Switzerland for giver years, she came back Nigeria for law school. After graduation, she wanted us to intern at the same place so I got her a spot and we worked together for two years.

After that, her parents told her she was already qualified to open her own firm, which would've been a problem but they buried the committee with money and she now owns a law firm.

Unlike me, Munira had passion for her work and had no problem dedicating her time and efforts to do something she loved but I was a different case.

My family were comfortable. We had since house, a few nice cars and we were more than content. While a brand new Mercedes C350 was bought for me and Safiya, Munira was bought a Range Rover Sport at the time.

But we got along because she was a down to earth person, and I never felt inferior. And that's the story of one of my friends. Not sure I'll be in the mood to talk about anyone else.

As soon as my eyes fluttered open, I groaned burying my face in Ibrahim's chest. I raised my head to check if I woke him but he was sound asleep. My eyes trailed over his handsome face and features wondering how we ended up here, as I wasn't going to surprised if we fell asleep on the balcony. The chilly air was nice and the intimate conversations we had in that space just made the whole experience better.

All I could remember was us talking about different things with my cheek resting on his chest, so I assumed he brought me here. My eyes stayed on his handsome face for a few seconds before I pushed myself off him, his arm wrapped only tightened eliciting a gasp from me.

My head whipped to the side only to find his low eyes staring back at me making me bite my lip unconsciously. I don't know what came over me but he just looked attractive with his eyes lowered and us being in such close proximity made me paranoid of my thoughts.

"How did we even get here." I let out a breath as laugh as a smile crawled it's way to his lips, his eyes remaining closed.

"Beats me." He mumbled in a low tone, his voice raspy.

"You do. You carried me here." I lifted my head with a mischievous smile watching his face intently for any expression to give him away.

"That's preposterous." He furrowed his brows. "Should we be worried?" He implied sarcastically.

I went ahead to prop my chin on his chest, my eyes burning a hole into his eyelids. "You know, there aren't many chivalrous men in this world. And here I am, living a life people take their time to read on wattpad. Aren't I lucky." I teased, the smile on my face growing wider when his eyes popped open, slightly bloodshot.

"Why am I sensing a sarcastic undertone." He muttered quirking a brow. I shrugged my shoulder lazily.

"Now that's not what you tell your wife when she tells you she's lucky to have you is it?" I jerked my head back feigning offense.

He raised his hands up in defense pulling me closer, half of my body laying on his. "I don't think you'll ever feel as lucky as I do, Sumayya." He raised his eyes to meet mine, his intense gaze making the smug smile on my lips falter.

A grin took over my lips now as I hummed running my hand over my hair taming the stray hair sticking out in all directions, briefly stopping to wonder what happened to the scarf I was wearing yesterday.

"Now that just made my day." I beamed pushing myself to sit, my hands resting on his torso.

I kept a straight face going as far as shooting him a smug smile, my brows raising in the process. I slipped off him just in time as he reached out to grab me. My hearty laugh echoed the walls as I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth.

It was only when I looked at my reflection in the mirror did I realize there was a smile still present on my lips. I was happy with what Ibrahim shared with me yesterday. It brought us closer and I loved every second of it.

I ventured downstairs after brushing my teeth and washing my face, debating on what to cook for breakfast. I realized we always forgot about buying bread whenever we went out, and there was a specific one we bought close to the Presidential Villa.

I huffed pulling the fridge open taking out some eggs, deciding to make waffles as I was feeling to lazy to start frying a pancake. I whisked the mix humming a song under my breath just as his familiar scent engulfed me as arms grabbed my waist from behind.

My lips pulled into a smile as he only glanced at the bowl before pulling away, going over to the coffee maker.

"Caffeine is poison." I warned.

"Have a long day ahead of me." He defended leaning on the counter with his hands buried in his hoodie pockets.

"Remind me to steal of of your hoodies." I sighed going back to what I was doing. "I really don't know what I was thinking when I chose that god forsaken course." I mumbled pinching the bridge of my nose as Ibrahim pulled two cups from the cabinet.

"It took you six years to realize that?" He raised his brow handing me a steaming cup of coffee. I murmured my thanks planting my hand over my forehead.

"I never sat down to think about me working in the future. All I wanted to do was to finish and get marr — " I cut my sentence mid way, quickly gulping my coffee only to shriek, my tongue burning due to the scalding coffee.

Ibrahim's brows furrowed in concern as he approached me, his hands planted on each side of my neck lowering his head to check if it was bad, worsening the situation as I felt my cheeks getting warmer. Good thing he couldn't tell if I was blushing or not.

"What were you saying again?" He pulled away but his hands never moved from my neck, nor did he put distance between us.

I pulled my lip in between my teeth harshly before staring up at him seeing the mischievous look in his eyes. I pushed him away going to the waffles to see if they were done hearing his loud laugh behind me.

I huffed throwing my phone inside my bag as I pushed into my office, slamming it shut. It didn't make noise which I was thankful for so I won't get bombarded with some nosy people here who always want to know what you're doing and the reason behind it.

I placed my bag on the table going around to sit on the chair, leaning back to get myself together. I released a breath sitting up, picking up a new file Barrister Ahmed specifically have to me.

I flipped it open scanning the contents inside and unsurprisingly, it was a case. This has happened multiple times and god knows I can't count how much. My eyes flitted to the contact details provided at the page and I craned my neck to relive the sore muscles, getting ready to work.

Weird way to end the chapter😞
